Man, I noticed your videos have thousands of views but very few likes, this is because these are so much exciting that people are jumping to the next one of yours and forget hitting Like button :-) I have caught myself on this, will have to go back and like all the ones I watched :-). Well done and thank you very much!
The visual interface from Roland is so modern! oh my.... that black screen, the used fonts, colors, it's great! The only lack in FA's is the touch screen! For sure, that will be the next FA-X model (since Fantom "X" came after Fantom one) lol
Thank you Ed for this an all the other great videos , really useful and easy to follow. I was just wondering how to cover Duran Duran's, Save a Prayer ....the custom Arpegio'd intro and bam the answer is right here. I have made good use of your other videos to help me get the most out of the FA for live use. Keep up the great work. Rob
Excellent Ed,Thanks for demonstrating this, much appreciated.A master technique to master!.As I have an old Fantom G6, I am familiar with your videos which have been a great help. This video was very informative as this feature was not present on the G6.I guess I will probably never invest in the new Fantom, but the FA with this facility has got me thinking.
There is a bug in FA series and not resolved. In STUDIO SET mode, I have 16 track (Part). An Expression pedal is used to adjust the volume of the selected part and working good. When I was playing in Part 1, I dim the volume with the EXP. Pedal and without releasing the key notes, I change the Part from Part 1 to Part 2, and suddenly the volume of Part 1 turned to its original value. This is a big problem in live and no solution found in any forum. All user having problem is looking for a firmware update. Thanks Roland
How do I create a second or third variation for the same user arpeggio? The preset arpeggios have up to 12 or more variations, how work this with the user arpeggios?
Mtc Meethaconnetz basically on what your asking bro, you gotta build that 808 from scratch using a sine wave. Go to the SN synth section and choose the Initialize patch . You can basically make the 808 like you want it with all the envelope choices and effects. Roland should of made the board with the audio sample shit like they did for the Juno ds61.
Interesting how the arpeggiator can do custom chords but played together like that they are no longer strictly 'arpeggios'. An arpeggio means broken chord and is a series of notes played from a chord one by one in rapid successiom separately.
Man... Every time I hear that plastic resonance when he presses the button I loose interest in this keyboard. It just looks and feels low quality, cheap plastic box. I wanted to like it but just can’t. Plus, too many user complaints around internet
FLAT TIRE I haven’t seen very many dissatisfied users. I had the fa08 and loved it. I sold it and bought a Yamaha Genos. The Genos sounds are amazing but it doesn’t have Tone Remain which is crazy for a keyboard of this price. I’m selling it and going back to tried and true Roland. Going to get the FA07 this time and probably and JDXA or used Jupiter 80/50 for my second board.
I've had my fa08 for a year now and I have no complaints. There is the occasional freeze but it usually happens when I'm frantically recording multiple takes.
Fantastic demo Ed. Just shows how powerful this workstation is. Thanks.

Thanks for the tips : it goes beyond simply programming a custom arpeggio : the possibilities are endless.
this is what i am looking for a long time. Great video tutorial as always. thanks ed!
damn that's a lot of menu diving

Ed is the best! Thanks for your videos.

The auto-quantize really makes this thing shine!
these videos are quite useful, thanks:!

Can I assign more than 1 arp settings to different channels in a single studio set?
You are my god ! Thank you very much
Ed you re the best.
How come when I use the quantize function; it sometimes changes my loops too much? For instance, it will play it in different style.
It is possible to do this with the Fantom or Fantom 0 series??
Why in the sequencer am I limited only 1 arpegiated track. Track 1 arpegiates but none others...
bro how do you add a 808 sample and play the high and low octaves on the key board
this will be a killer tutorial for you

Yamaha, hire this guy now
The Yamaha tutorials are not as easy to follow. I agree.
Rob Oliver :-)
Oh my gossssh
Is there a way to add variations to a user arp?
How to enter in arp screen again without stoping arp?
Just press "shift" + "arp" (I had the same problem before). Once you understand that "shift is your friend" a new world of possibilities opens up.

The fonction name is historical "arpegio" but, today (for years now), the possibility are many more than just make an arpegio.

Too complicated
Too complicated. Too many buttons, too much scrolling, too many steps, too many screens, too many menus, for what SHOULD be real easy.
Too lazy.
Naming things is the most long winded process. Other than that it's pretty straightforward
I never seen most easy !
Easy to program, but playing live, selecting sounds, in a long playlist, during a concert, it’s not practical, it’s easy to make mistakes
