Are you thinking about moving to Las Vegas Nevada? Let’s explore Las Vegas Nevada today!
Summerlin Las Vegas Nevada and Henderson Nevada are both well-known areas within the Las Vegas NV valley. Both neighborhoods have a high standard of life, which makes them good places to live for people who want to live in a big city but still have the comforts of the suburbs. So, the question is, how are Summerlin and Henderson as places to live?
Summerlin Las Vegas Nevada is a master-planned neighborhood on the western edge of the Las Vegas valley. It has many nice amenities, such as a multitude of golf courses, community centers, an extensive trail system, and more than 250 parks.
It is close to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, which has hiking and biking trails. It also has a lot of places to shop, eat, and have fun, which makes it a great place for people who want to live a busy life.
Henderson Nevada, which is southeast of the valley, is the second-largest city in Nevada. It has a suburban feel, with many area that are home to custome and semi custome home without that cookie cuttie feel. What more locals appreciate about Henderson NV so there are a lot of different places to live, and if you want something that does not have any HOA's you can find that in henderson. Not so much summerlin because it is a giant masterplanned community afterall. Even though it may not have as many neighborhood amenities as Summerlin Las Vegas NV, it does have a lower cost of living and a quiet atmosphere.

The choice between Summerlin where I live or Henderson? How many newcomers to the area are aware of the Black Mountain Industrial Complex that is tucked away behind the Henderson Auto Mall. I was shocked at what I saw viewing satellite maps. Even more shocking are homes in close proximity and not that far away, probably the most expensive homes in all the Las Vegas metro area. I take it that realtors disclose that? Cadence seems to be built on a former magnesium dump that has been remediated but still. No way!

If I had to pick any area of Henderson to live in vs Summerlin it would be Green Valley Ranch and maybe Cadence. But where Henderson fails to me is that it doesn’t have anything that compares to Downtown Summerlin.
The District is ok but gets stale quickly and the Galleria IMO is old school and not as good as the outdoor shopping center format. I like how you summed it up as quiet vs bustling…it’s pretty accurate.
Also I would say that the median income in Summerlin is about 28k higher than Henderson and you can see it all around you. Everything is much more well maintained and premium in Summerlin vs. Henderson.
    Buuuuuuuut….
Summerlin is super stuck up personality-wise vs. Henderson and you feel it instantly. People in Henderson seem much more happier and free than in Summerlin IMO.

Thank you for sharing and those are all GREAT perspectives! Summerlin and Henderson each have their own vibe and energy, no doubt. I grew up in Henderson when I came here from Okinawa but I have always gravitated towards Summerlin, especially after they developed Downtown Summerlin. More amenities and accessibility overall.

Downtown Summerlin is BORING and I live five minutes west by car. I don't go there often. Nice to have if necessary.

    How about Providence?

Providence is a good area. It is considered as part of the northwest. Very beautiful and well-landscaped.

Great for transient renters, a multitude of carwashes, storage places and chain restaurants. Don't forget the air traffic from Nellis and the increasing air traffic into North Las Vegas with its new patterns.

Top notch health care system in the nation? I heard the healthcare was rated poorly.

Hi! We do have quality healthcare depending on the field of specialty. What we do lack is an adequate ratio of specialists to the amount of people in the city. There are some specialists that we do not have in general, which is a big con.
