Horrible knife folks. So damn cheap. Pay more and get some quality. The blade is awful, the depression button is difficult for XXL hands and the plastic handles.... UGGGHHH .... Pass on this one.
Its cast aluminum, and aluminum is one of those scale metals that is good for those who want the worn look over time. It makes no difference what it is coated or anodized, aluminum scratches and wears. I like the look of "battle use", so I love mine. I have the black coated blade which alse wears, I like the tumbled blade better, but no biggie. There is nothing else in its class, the civivi does not come in Auto. Thanks for the review, I expect for those that have one new in box, they may go up in value, not as much as the dessert warrior, that is a phenom. Wish they would bring it back.
@@francismartino6890 they always come open. Boker makes the knife, a different company does the conversion to auto. Lots of knives are made this way. Sorry to hear about the nick tho. That really is a bummer.

In the past I carried the Cold Steel XL Voyager Clip Point. It was big, but totally doable for daily carry. I keep hoping Cold Steel will make some autos. But I guess I’ll settle for the Boker XXL for now.
A lot people thinks this size is crazy for EDC but notice the knives we use daily in our kitcheens to process food they are actually much bigger. I like to have as much edge as I can to really comfortable cut anything I need. That's should be the standard for EDC. Try it out you see what I mean.
PowerMadHeadBanger oh I don’t really disagree. I will say that extra 3/4” of blade does make it a little harder to comfortably carry. Call me crazy but my Large Espada carries better than this XXL. Granted more of the Espada is sticking out of the pocket, but in overall carry comfort, the Espada wins.

Its the only one I found covering this exclusive version of a ridiculously popular blade ( have the regular size stone dagger, blue handle) and I was just kinda curious about what set this one apart. Looks like they haven't fixed any of the issues (no sharpening choil, crappy pocket clip in bad spot, poop blade grind/ asymmetrical machining) guess Ill skip it, and that is thanks to you, so I appreciate that. Keep up the good work.

I had to slow the action. The handle already broke where the button sits from the force of it opening. There is a very small area of that cheap aluminum that will not hold up.

This one hilariously shows its cutting skills on paper so I thank you for shelling out the money and spending the time reviewing this Boker. Outside of being scarry and frustrating at opening envelopes, what other purposes would this lengthy automatic be used for?

Mine's starting to wear, it looks like aluminum, but I think it's got a spray coating on it for the texture.
Mine came in with the safety seal on the box broke, looks like someone checked it out at the mail room? Also a small chip in the edge 😔

I'm sure it's aluminum but there are so many different aluminum Alloys out there it's probably not 6061 T6 aluminum but a lower grade

Fried Pi 3.14159 it’s a nice knife to abuse and not worry about for sure!
It was an impulse but for me too. So ridiculous. But somehow an easy knife to carry in the pocket. It's like a pocket chef's knife.

I sharpened most of my knives out of the box just because I want a very keen edge and few come with a teenage Cold steel probably being the exception

Most Böker Kalashnikov knives has those three ridges on their handle scales. Probably mimicking the grip of the real thing (AK47).
