  • The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a fully electric saloon car with excellent efficiency and range. It has great legroom for all passengers and a decent sized boot of 401 litres, with the addition of a small frunk of 45l.
With an exceptionally low drag co-efficient, the IONIQ 6 gets a WLTP range of 614km out of its 74kWh usable battery. However, we reckon that a figure of 470-510kms is more realistic in general driving conditions.
In this range test, we look at range, efficiency, driving modes, and how much the car costs to both buy and fuel!

Just dislike the face of the Ioniq6. Very efficient as usual from Hyundai & Kia. At least it's an alternative to a MAGA/Musk Tesla .

Well done Blake, great review. I drive an almost identical spec Ioniq 6, where I have done about 30,000km done on Irish roads since last Jan and every km in it has been a pleasure to drive. You didn't get a chance to DC charge the car, but I can confirm that it does indeed charge from 20% to 80% in 18mins or so on an ESB 200kW charger (10% to 80% on Ionity in 18 mins) - faster than you can have a loo break and grab a sandwich when on the road. I can honestly say that the change from a 520D with 1100km of range at full to an Ioniq 6 with 550km of range has made absolutely no difference to my driving patterns.

Rally 3 hrs to go 206km? That’s about 120 miles? For the last leg… well I guess there could be a little traffic..

We went back 20 years 🤷🤦
In 2011 my Renault Diesel car was reaching around 1544km Range with 5 people and luggage😳🤯
A few notes, 3 were small kids and 2 Adults
98% Motorway no start Stop Traffic
    .
However even my Boot was Bigger 462L 🤷🤦

Ahhh yes. The NOx output was ridiculously poisonous! The clatter was insidious. And the smell….. ah well, to each their own eh? Thing is even here in the United States of Petrol, guns and Highways. Most people only travel more than 43 miles from their homes about 3 times a year.

@@adofoi30 On Paper the Diesel was poisonous, however logically it was not 😳 I ve Travelled from London to Lisbon, my brother in law came with us
His petrol car was getting 200 miles range , I had 960 miles range he had to fill up 5x to achieve the same distance, Logically Burning 5x more fuel should produce more emissions gases than a person burning 1 single Tank of fuel regardless of what anyone says 🤷

@@adofoi30 if Diesel was that bad how can Truck divers are still alive 🤷 they often live their Engines running to have power in the Cabins
Also I ve seen the VW History emissions Scandal History, completely ridiculous Non Sensical.
      .
You ment to Tell me the U. S A Country that Loves Monster Trucks with their 7.2L V8 Engines it's worried about the Emissions produced by a Small VW Golf with a 1.6 Diesel reaching a massive 60 Mpg 🤷🤦
