    A hello from Brazil!
    A question about this video... this replacement of the original SSD for another, is it not necessary to reconfigure the OS and other original softwares?
    Does this happen automatically?
    Excellent Tutorial, tks!!!!

    No heatsink on ssd?

      The 960 Evo already has a heatsink built onto it. You can see it underneath the Samsung sticker spanning across the length of the drive.

    Can't we just use both at the same time? I am asking because in your video, you only put one into those two slots at a single time. I want to be clear on this before buying the SSDs and the mounting bracket.

      your laptop can hold two m2 ssd like the long one in the video. you sure can have two installed at a time. im guessing he didnt have another bracket or didnt bother. you can also transfer the operating system while the system is ON from one ssd to another.

      @DuroLabs85 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      probably not as manufacture's say that you can upgrade your laptops so until you don't break any seal sticker you are not voiding your warranty you can always upgrade RAM or SSD's.

      No, i put a new ssd drive on this dell g15, a few months later the motherboard died and dell changed the motherboard for a new one, so you dont loss the warranty

    • @safwanabm715
      @safwanabm715 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No the windows activation key is stored in the motherboard so even if you change storage, windows will automatically retrieve the licence key from the motherboard

    Is the mounting bracket mandatory?

    • @Lugon0
      @Lugon0 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      not mandatory per see, but if you dont use it, you risk the ssd getting disconected from the motherboard from moving the laptop around, and if that happens while its on you also risk corrupting your entire OS

    Can anyone help me? I want to upgrade my m.2 ssd in my Asus Vivobook laptop. The thing is, I see that many m.2 ssd's come with heat sinks. My laptop is too thin to make an m.2 fit with a heat sink, and the current 128gb m.2 in my laptop does not have a heat sink. Now my question is; Does a 2tb m.2 ssd run too hot to use without a heatsink in a laptop? Should I be looking at a smaller m.2 that runs less hot? Or is the heat of a 2tb m.2 not going to be a problem for a laptop? Thank in advance to any who answer!

    Could I use a SSD gen 4 on a dell g15 ? Any users with that experience ?

    • @khald0r
      @khald0r 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm no expert and I didn't try it, but based on my online research, yes gen 4 SSD is backward compatible so you can use it but you probably will have a bottleneck and will only get the speeds of the gen 3 since the laptop itself is gen 3.
