Andrea gets to drive a Porsche 911 cabriolet for the first time. Why do these cars have such mystique? What makes this brand and the 911 specifically so popular. The latest Porsche 911 Carrera, with the code name 992 and it is the best looking 911 so far. With the wheelbase remaining the same, Porsche made the track wider, the wheels staggered but also bigger in the back by one inch. The front wheels are 20-inches by 8.5-inches wide but the back wheels are 21-inches with a width of 11.5-inches. The track has been increased by 4.5cm on the front and 3.9cm in the back. This gives the all-new Porsche 911 wide, flat stance that is accentuated by the wide front and rear air openings. It looks killer. Inside the new Porsche Carrera is a 10.9-inch centre screen, a toggle PDK shifter and class panel in the centre similar to the Panamera and cayenne. This is one area that looks a bit cheap and not in keeping with the car. The rest of the car is classic Porsche materials and build quality. The engine has a 3.0L bi-turbo 6-cylinder with 443hp and 390lb.-ft. of torque with the power going to a new 8-speed PDK. A 7-speed manual will come later in the year. There is a new Wet mode for driving in the rain that changes the ABS, traction control, throttle and PDK settings to give much better control in wet conditions, plus more torque is set to the front wheel if the car has all-wheel-drive.

It all comes down to exposure. Once one has been exposed to business/first class flights, higher-end cars or even hotel rooms your Life changes. You simply cannot undo exposure. Normal people cannot imagine the difference between business and coach ...’ behind that curtain’. They can only imagine. So translating the feel of a true luxury car or sports car becomes... impossible. Someone who drives a Camry simply cannot comprehend, justify or even imagine the division of class between their Toyota and an S-class. So both did an excellent job review of this new Porsche. And it is a true pleasure to enjoy a video from the truest of Porsche enthusiasts. Thank you.

I rode up thru there last year on my Triumph sport touring motorcycle, fantastic road and scenery. Have to watch the throttle the cops are everywhere out there. What about a Rapid Blue LT3 Corvette Convertible? Same price, but the Chevy comes with $50,000 dollars in the glove compartment. Something to think about. Saw one in person. Freaking Amazing

My first Porsche was a convertible. I sold it after 2 years, as I was always burning the top of my head and forehead. The next 2 were coupes.🇨🇦
I've had 3 or 4 convertibles, the sun is always a problem. Half the time I drove them with the top up and/or the AC on. They're best for warm nights. My 911 was a coupe too, not a fan of the cabs. I just don't like the looks of them, although the new ones do look pretty good now I must admit.
I rarely take the top down on a 911s cab as I cannot drive at high speeds then.

We have had two Cayenne models, a 2008, which we had for six years and ZERO problems and we currently have a 2016 diesel and have had ZERO problems.

great video!... ever since pdk came out my wife drove my 997.2 carrera more than i did.. im stuck in her Cayenne turbo and now Macan S..lol! also drove the 992 such a big car have to make adjustment when driving was so used to my 997.2 ...

(over your left shoulder Zack) These new 911's are so enormous, and I think that you are bang on with putting the Boxster/Cayman on your own shopping list for a truer sports car experience. This 992 does look great, the best since the 993. Funny, I thought my 993 was a luxury car compared to my 911SC! My current Cayman R however, is my favourite Porsche.
Zack.. I know we all love this car.. but the 993 is like a german candy jar.. we always keep going back for more.

@James Wisrik Yes! All good. Leasing is rather an expensive option for me, but its awesome for the young folks. I own 993 and a 997. I would never buy a Porsche that wasn't a 911. It's what porsche is and does best, but some would disagree. Yes these cars are showing age even with updates, but they also become highly valuable with time better than my dying stock portfolio.I refer to them as investments for retirement. I had my fun. Enjoy the new cars James... life comes around only once. 👍

When you began talking about if money was no object I 1000% KNEW you were about to say the 991.2 GT3 Touring. That's exactly what I would have said as well except I'm sure the 992 will continue to pull on the heartstrings of enthusiasts with another rendition revving to 9000. Give it one or two years..

Personally I am not a fan of the new generation 911s , but if you are still a diehard fan of Porsche and buy into it, to each their own.
I prefer that generation for many reasons, some of which you mentioned. Love my 2019 991.2 4 gts coupe!

I hope you get to drive the new 718 Spyder with the 4.0 NA and MANUAL! To me, that’s the Porsche at ticks all the boxes.
The manual top is a pain. Go with the 718 GTS.

Porsches. Best handling sports cars in the world (911's). Yet you can park them anywhere and not worry. Unlike Ferrari's, McLaren's, etc.
One of the best "modern day" 911's? GT3 Touring. I agree. But would like to get it with the PDK...as it would be one of my "almost everyday drivers". :) Best 911's...air-cooled. Hope you didn't sell your 2!! I wouldn't. Unlimited funds? SINGER Porsche 911. If I lived where it never snowed.
For driving thrills? Ferrari pre-TT ....Amazing some companies managed to not bow to emissions concerns and still make naturally aspirated supercars...Lamborghini. Though Audi still has their R8 and Ferrari their 812 Superfast. Why not a NA "entry-level" model? If they can do a NA V12....If I were able to buy a Ferrari today..I'd look for a mint 458 Italia.
Uh...sorry to say, but all blues don’t match. But this is my grail car, and will own one someday. The convertible looks better up than down, so I’d stick to the coupe.

But Zack, what percentage of 992 sales are attributed to true 911 nuts, like you? I would bet most sales are tallied by general car enthusiasts, or people with big wallets that want a flashy sports car. In that case, the comparison to the F-Type, as a competitor, holds.
