I bought a setting press a while back, but a couple hurricanes made me pack up my leather shop before I had a chance to use it. I was finally able to use it tonight to set a few snaps, and, wow, it was so satisfying to set every snap perfectly on the first attempt. I’ll never mess around with those cheap Amazon snaps and hand setters again. Thanks for a quality product.
@@Buckleguycom Did you do another one? I could not see well what was going on either. I am trying to repair a snap on a leather device holder, but it only has one layer of thin leather so I noticed you use two layers of leather here. The snaps I bought don’t seem to fit together properly and there are no directions. I have no clue which parts to attach. I am using the second type of snap that you demonstrated here that has the donut shape. The part that goes into the male part seems to be way too big. I’m about ready to give up and we’ll probably just send this second set back and get someone to repair it for me, lol. Buying another holder may be the only other answer which is wasteful.
It would much help if this tutorial shows WHICH exact components being used for each step, in a much SLOWER phase, with a much CLOSER view. These tutorial suppose to help the inexperienced, beginner users... !
Thanks for the comment. I think maybe what you may need are jump rings: www.buckleguy.com/wire-formed-brass-jump-rings/ If not, please email us a picture of the item you need to replace to info@buckleguy.com and we can help you find what you are looking for.
I want to buy lots of these for my new leathercraft hobby - but none of them give an indication of the min / max leather thicknesses they will comfortably fix through and to.
Thanks for your message. Shoot us an email to info@buckleguy.com and let us know what thickness leather you are working with and we would be happy to make recommendations for snaps.
This has gotta be one of the worst videos ever. Genuinely more confused after watching this video than I was before. No detail in what to do. Not saying which pieces are which. Not showing which are which. And no close enough shot to even see. This is so annoying I had to figure it all out on my own

I think it would be helpful if you showed a closer look at the tools and the pieces you're using for those new to leather work
Thanks for the feedback. We will look into doing another one.

How do you know how big of a hole you need to make for each snap?
Always nice to have the specific tools for the job at hand. For the average layman, this stuff isn't just lying around.
Amen! Having the right tools makes all the difference.

He looks very competent but is not possible to see what’s going on. I didn’t learn what I wanted to.
really helpful thanks!
it would have been nice to actually see the components and tools - thank u but was unable to use this video
Too far away to see components
Thanks for the feedback. We will remember that for future videos. Stay tuned!
I can't see any of the details.
Sorry about that! If you have any questions feel free to drop us a line as info@buckleguy.com
Thanks for the view. I have to ring style buckles broke on our luggage tag. Where can I get a repair kit?

Are the snap buttons real brass or cheap steel?
What type of hammer is that?
It's a rawhide mallet I believe. I think typically you just don't want to use metal on metal.
What mm punch are you using for the L24 snaps?
We were using a 1/8" diameter punch for the Line 24s here.
Can’t see it
Nothing is visible

No close ups. Can't see what he is doing.
I agree with everyone saying I have no clue what’s going on. Fix your video

So far away one cannot see properly!
Does not demonstrate what the socket and other parts are. Not informative at all
Hi Olga, thanks for your comment. We appreciate the feedback. Feel free to give us a call if you would like us to help explain anything further.
Worst instructional video ever. How bout a step by step tutorial of which piece goes where and what direction 🙄
To far away to see
Close up video to see the snaps would be nice, not helpful at all
Unbfortubalety a terrible job of showing which snap parts go with which tool/bit.
He thoroughly covered everything. What's tripping you up?
@@Spencer635 there are four diff snap pieces and I don’t know whichever’s how where and with which parts of the tool
