    Sir, thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating and sharing your knowledge and experience on snap fasteners. As a beginner in the use of such studs and fasteners, this video is very easy to comprehend and follow as you maintain a professionally communicated consistency as well as keep every second meaningful throughout the entire video. I envy your tools as I have just a simple 4-piece set. Though, now I understand the vastness in optional tools available. I may also be known to have a touch of OCD myself so it was hard for me to pay attention completely the first few times I watched the video as I was quite fascinated with your organizational structure of your environment as well as the neatness and clarity in how you label. You have inspired me in more ways than one, and for that I thank you ❤️

    Came here after watching the manufacturers video. They didn't show which pieces went together or how hard to hammer (and a soundtrack instead of verbal instructions...). You're a life saver! Very clear instructions, great video angles too. Good to see that there are tooling options too - the plastic set I bought feels very cheap and not stable at all.

    Just echoing what others have said. This was a really good video. It explained clearly what how to do the work, what the tools were, what they were for and how to use them. The video was clear and in focus (a few others I watched before finding this video were of such poor quality I just gave up watching them and luckily found yours before giving up - those others were blurred, obscured and not particularly informative). The only thing I'd like to know that wasn't on the video is what should I ask for when searching for a kit and/or where can I buy such a kit (I need to repair something and might have a go at doing other things as well).

    OMG. I feel better now knowing that is not only me that does not know how to do snaps. LOL. I am here spending 2 hours trying to figure out how to put the snap with the little teeth and attach to the other pieces, if I do wrong, my project will be ruined. My face mask envelope case, pouch in clear vinyl. It's so cute, but I will have to make another one if I mess up the snap installation. Thank you. There are still something that surprises me. One day I looked for a video to teach how to make a bow. OMG, so many people, thousand does not know how to make a bow, and still some could not figure out and had to go another video. LOL. It's too hillarious. And then I feel better after that.

    Can you use a smaller diameter button with a wider post diameter base? Or will the shaft of the post be too wide to flatten inside the button? I am talking of the male side bits, and not the spring/cap pieces.

    Thanks for the helpful instructions! One question though: what was the reason you used the pin tool with a hammer to punch a hole to make a hole on the first part but used a different tool, a puncher, to pierce the second part? Can we not use only one tool to pierce both parts?

    Hi, thank you for your snap video. The tool sets l see for sale online do not have a domed setting post tool for the non-button 1/2 side of the snap. I think they use the same setting post tool, but with an anvil that has a small centering "pin" that holds the non-button side still. Do I need the domed setting post tool?

    Very well explained. My question is I see you need special setters to do stainless steel snaps, but no one talks about why? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

    • @HobbyBloxs
      @HobbyBloxs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Regular snaps are made of soft brass or tin, so they will crimp easily with regular snap setting tools. Stainless steel snaps are usually designed for more heavy-duty applications and therefore are made from harder metal and require setting tools that are up to the job. Also, they are usually 15mm diameter, rather than the small size of standard snaps, so the setting tools are a different shape to accommodate this. Hope this helps to answer your question.

    Cheers gonna give a motorcycle google strap a go with my helmets snap fasteners but might take it to a Taylor 😊
    Can I please 🙏 ask though if anyone would know would this work on an elastic fabric band that is attached to my motorcycle street mask 😷 or is it likely to tear?, I have seen one of those star shaped stud fastener tools in a local store but I am unsure if it would work!? Cheers 👋 🙌👏

    How do you tighten a snap that has a loose grip? Enjoyed learning how to install using the hand tool method. I successfully installed the snaps onto a wallet but when I snapped both sides together the grip was a bit loose.
