I bought a kit a couple of years ago. Never made one snap successfully! You have redeemed my confidence with this clear and simple tutorial. 🥰🥰🥰
Wonderful!! So happy to redeem your confidence - thanks for watching 🥰🌞
I was always intimidated by snap installation, thanks for making this so easy and quick - wow!
Thanks for the tutorial! Who knew that snaps were such complex systems...four parts?!? Until a recent snap failure shattered my innocent belief in a good and stable world, I never had the occasion to plunge into the art of snappery. I now feel empowered to restore my coat and fashion integrity.
*Snappery*
Indeed!
Omg. This just made me a subscriber. The humor alone takes away the intimidation. Thanks.
Awesome. And you hammer like a pro!
Don't use a metal hammer - use a heavy nylon hammer. It does not damage the other tools when you hit them and it gives off less noise.
Thanks for the tip, I will try this (note to self: buy nylon hammer).
I love your shirt! ❤
I really enjoyed your humorous approach to snap installation. I already knew how to do it but your video was really enjoyable. Thanks for the chuckles! 😊
Thank you so much! This makes my day that I was able to entertain and educate. Appreciate you being here♥
3 minutes anyday would make me happy.
Thank you so much for making this. I’ve watched so many tutorials and none of them properly walk me through it until yours.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching☺️
Ouh you actually put the cat part in the video. Appreciate it coz I really want to see the cat when you said you woke it up (eventhough if that was from other cat video clip ). 😍
Loved your video. Very entertaining and informative. Thank you.
Thank you! I thought I knew what I was doing, but I feel much better watching it.
Thank you so much for watching!
You’ve convinced me to buy a mallet. I live in an apartment and the amount of hammering I’d need to do is too much 😂
It is advisable to place a scrap leather piece (2-4mm thick) underneath the fabric so that you do not blunt the hole puncher and keep it sharp every time.
That's a great tip! Thank you for sharing ♥️
You are very welcome! 🙏
And that is exactly what I was looking for - many thanks
Thank you for the help! Love your necklace 🖤😘
You are absolutely amazing!
thank you
"and you go for it" LOL. Accurate!
Thank you
Thank you very much 🎉🎉🎉
Hello, do you think snap buttons like these would work to secure a jacket liner to the inside of a jacket
Brilliant!
Thank you
Glad you liked it! Thank you so much for watching
Thank you sooooo much!!!!
Thank you 😊
I gave you a thumbs up in the first 60seconds , just bc of your contagious smile❤
Awww, thank you... that is very sweet.
hell o great video cna you tell me how to measure for replacing snaps on denim
Came for the snap info stayed for the dope necklace.
Thanks for the instructions! Can you tell me where you purchased your snaps? Reviews on Amazon are so up and down on all of them, I can't figure out which set will actually work. Also, do you know if this kind of snap would be okay on regular fabric (cotton) instead of something bulkier like the denim? THANK YOU!!!
Good video: Next time you can show a close up as to what you are banging in -- the cap and receiver, etc. This would be useful.
Haha.. hard to get the camera on there when I am banging. But yes, I understand - more close-ups of the pieces. Thanks for your comment.
tq for the tutorial.. i have snap set same type with the one in this video.. but there's some moves didn't clarify clearly in this video.. so im wasting 2 set of snapping button.. i figure out themselves.. luckily i finished assemble them. thanks!
Bought a lil kit recently to repair a really nice winter coat I was gifted but a few of the snaps got ripped off when I had to crawl through the window of my apartment after locking myself out. $15 investment saving a $300 coat, and your vid assured me it’s easy as pie. Thanks, I’m interested in learning some of this diy stuff to perhaps learn to tailor my own clothes and make repairs. Subbed 🤘
Amazing! How did it go? Did you fix the snaps? Thanks for the new sub ☺
Wow thank you for explaining so so simple. The instructions are hela complicated. Msh subscribing! Yay I can finish my project. Thank you?
You are most welcome! Nice to know I had a hand in helping you finish your project! Yay!!
Thank you for your video. I found it by looking for videos on snaps. I would like to do plastic and metal snaps on different fabric. I know the plastic Kam snaps have a pliar kit. Do you know of any kits or items to order that would work on metal and plastic or will I need 2 separate type of kits?
Good question! From my experience, the plastic vs. metal snaps use different tools. Suggest buying separate kits.
Hi @ltrltrendfashnguru Wondering if you can help me understand what I am doing wrong. I have wasted 3 sets of snaps because I am bending the male piece (3rd to install) and then the top snap doesn't fit it. I have a picture, but it doesn't look like I can attach it.
I love your personality 😂💗
Heehee...thanks!!
Can we see a closeup of the snap after hitting it with the hammer? Mine look terrible! Also, my button is getting damaged by the hammering. Am I using the right device on the snap when hammering? My round metal circle has a front and a back. Which should I use? I'm ending up with a damaged snap and a ruined project.
Thank you!
Thank you for watching !
What is a good brand to buy for these..dont want cheapo snaps
What a fun woman!
Dancy Nancy 👍
What was the wood for?
I put one on and and does not snap together. If i do get it together it just falls apart. Can you help me?
Hey. Thanks so much. I have tried and tried to get this small thing to work. I can figure out just about anything, but for some reason, just couldn’t get it to work…lol.
Could I help in any way? What is it (specifically) you are having difficulty with ?
@@LTRLTrendFashnGuru …I finally got it, thanks to your video. It helped immensely. Thanks
Your shirt is cute.
You're cute for watching🥰
Omg, thank you! I'm building some belt accessories for a renaissance faire and the snaps have been the absolute worst part!
Once you have done one successfully... you will fall in love with them! Snaps are now my most favourite part - they are so satisfying to install since they are much faster than buttons and those darn button-holes. haha
When I try to install these four part snaps I run into the problem of the “tube part” of the components rolling when the setting cone presses into them. I’m not sure why this is happening or how to avoid it. Any tips?
This has happened to me as well. There are a few possibilities/ troubleshooting:
1. Try to not hammer the post down too far.
2. Are you using the correct tool size? Did the tools (anvil and setter) come in a "kit" or did you buy the tools separately? If you bought the tools separately, they maybe the wrong size for the post.
3. The snaps may be of cheap quality....🧐
Best of luck
Is there an alternative to using the splicing tool?
I have tried with other "tools" like big nails, rocks and other hand tools *but* they never came out nicely like the slicing tool. Everything else just smashes the post either not enough or too much that the snap doesn't work properly or the snap comes off after a few tries. Highly recommend the appropriate tool. Best of luck!
This chick is awesome :)
I got a Ben Davis snap front jacket and I've always wanted to replace those funny looking buttons with the monkey face to the shiny gold or silver style buttons to make it look more elegant and less of that gang related style. That's why I removed the monkey brand off. Plus I'll have it custom made.
Nice! Hard to imagine the before and after wothout somw pics - tag me on insta @ltrltrend when you finish? Thanks for watching!
Any tips, I just did mine but the snaps are really loose and come apart from each other easily
Arrgh, this is so frustrating when this happens. Try hammering down a bit harder (even though it seems like you are going to break them... try again). Also, make sure you tools are set correctly. Thanks for watching... and Best of luck🥰
Noice🤝🏼
hello great video as always 👍🧵please kindly explain and film how to use monofilament thread in the sewing machine please ok?please kindly reply back ok?thank you
The request has been put into the mix of the schedule Frank! Thanks for your sugesstions we are on it 😉
That looks painless.
I bought three different snap kits and the instructions looked more complicated than this video.
So I now need to find those snaps I bought and the hole puncher to complete a project waiting on my ironing board. No more procrastinating.
I know, those instructions are like reading lawyer jargon... haha. Yay for finishing projects, glad I was able to help! Thanks for watching 😊
Hi, you forgot to put the peace of wood under your work area !
Sorry i dont have these weapons to fight of this situation
No fighting here 🤷🏼♀️
My snaps don’t exactly look like yours. What am I doing wrong? Lol
Haha. You are probably doing nothing wrong dear Kirsten. There are different types of snaps out there, if you bought a kit they usually come with a special tool? Maybe you can send me a photo so I can better understand what your snaps looks like and hopefully I can help you get these snaps installed! Do you have instagram or telegram? OR you can send me an email at ltrltrend@protonmail.com
having trouble opening your attachments. 😅
@@LTRLTrendFashnGuru 🙈 oh noes! I just tried again with smaller files. Thx again!
@@kerikah Fantastic!
Super fast way?
F*ck this! I've waisted 3 sets so far because they keep bending. I'm installing a zipper. You made it look so easy. But omfg it is not!
Terrible couldn’t see very well
NEED CLOSE UPS..LOOKS LIKE YOUR 20 FEET AWAY
Pig rings are not attractive. Just saying.
.🧐
Overly dramatic…attempting to be funny, but actually not funny…
