- Its the end of grazing season on our farm.
In this video you can see us cleaning and lubricating machinery, putting it away for the winter.
I check the pasture fences for the last time and we move heifers to the last yet ungrazed fields. In the meantime we prepare our barn, cleaning and fixing things. We had some very wet weather the last couple of weeks so I'm sure the heifers will be glad to be inside for the winter.

Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.

Yeah the grass still grows but it is wet so the cows must move quickly between the pastures otherwise they make a mess... 🙃

We had 25cm of snowfall at start of the month. Then it melted away and now it's snowy and freezing again. Looks a bit greener there.
Now that's more wintery, we're having pretty warm weather still 🙃

So nice and relaxing to see cows grazing on the side of a grassy hill! Those are always happy cows running and kicking there heels up. Nice to see you cleaning the tile walls up it looks very nice when finished. Hope you start putting more videos out? What breed of pigs do you raise? Mam pytanie, jak masz rozwiązane legowiska, krowy mają maty w budynku obok? Mam starą oborę, krowy stoją na łańcuchach, myślę żeby przorobić to na wolnostawoniskową na ściółce i usówać obornik raz w tygodniu, co o tym sądzisz? U mnie nie byłoby legowisk tylko ściółka i na końcu wejście na halę udojową.

Hi, yes, the beds are in the newer part of the barn.
I think it would work but plan it carefully so you have an easy access for cleaning and bedding, maybe a way to get cows somewhere so they don't get in a way when cleaning the barn. And try to set up some ventilation to keep the bedding as dry as possible 🤔 don't know how much space you have but maybe also some holding area in front of the parlor so they don't bring too much material (manure) into the parlor...
