I can remember from over 60 years ago, the smell of fresh hay in the loft, but that was small square bales. I can only imagine the smell coming from the barn as the air blows up through the new hay. To me that's more pleasing than the most expensive perfume. I don't know if it's just me or not, but... there is a quality about your life that is unlike anything I've ever known... and I worked on dairy farms, but those who will never know those smells and those views and those feelings of knowing that this is exactly where I want to be... have no idea of what they are missing.
Yeah I hear you, I agree 🙂 one farmer once told me (he didn't grew up on a farm and he started farming when he was in around his thirties) that one of the most valuable things that he gave to his children is them growing up on a farm and learn all the things that he couldn't in the city 🙂
Hey, almost exactly my situation. I was born and raised in the country and have always played in the yards and barns of farmers. (we didn't farm, my father was the local sheriff) Lived there for a long time - nice time! Then I ended up in the city because of the job. Horrible time. i hate the city Now that we are 60 years old, we have bought a house in the country with a field and we are starting to be self-sufficient. With organic vegetables and our own chickens. A lot of work, but nice. Even though I'm 60 years old and my wife is 51 years old. 😁
Love the smell of fresh hay but know ,I’m allergic to hay . Fresh cut grass smells good and shavings from trees . We put oak and cherry or pine when we get shavings makes the barns smell fresh and chicken coops and nest. I just can’t get enough of how your scenery looks . Hay & straw & grass cuttings and baling making silage just can’t get enough of it even though ,I ‘m allergic to it . Milking not to bad we do all our milking by hands no machinery milk around six jersey’s . It takes about 1 hour all depends on how the cattle cooperate .
Nothing like making hay. Especially when it's the first of the season...love doing it..I actually like the mowing the best. Sometimes I've mowed all morning from daylight till noon and then tedded it the afternoon...
Greetings and hello from New Mexico USA!! I own 10 acres and find the art of farm chores to be both relaxing and hard work. Keep up the great work. Love the cowboy theme..
@@farmerspov4709 well it's a cool morning here. I think part of the work is a kinda meditation. We don't have any animals except a pack of friendly dogs.
Just found your channel, and I love it!! We have the same amount of hectares but here in Belgium is not worth it anymore to farm like you do. I makes me sad, but your videos brings back memories how it was. Good luck with the farming and thanks you for all the effort that you put in making these videos. Greetings from Belgium.
Finaly i got time to watch your new Videos! escaping Chickens, something that i see every day with my 12 Chicks :D looks like a good crop you mow there! looks like nice first cut. lovely Video again! greetings from bavaria
Nice movie and great music. Unfortunately, I only have an International 353 built in 1969. But it's also fun to work with. 😁 Greetings from Germany to Slovenia.
Just a suggestion. If you make a platform about 4 ft tall by 12 or 15 ft long and 5 ft deep where you put the extra ingredients for the feed mixer, you could have all the ingredients on top of the platform, and then pull the mixer next to the platform. Then you could more easily dump the ingredients into the mixer.
