thank you from someone speaking english as second language... my brain got hooked on cafea / coffee & i wouldn't have it realized if not for your comment
Why are so many podcast intros full of teases these days? Clashes with my brain 🧠 Is a neurodivergent person making them? Rather than creative, they come off as so formulaic and cheap. The content itself is worthy of a non sensationalist/teasing intro.
If they're being done by content creators it's because they work. They get and hold our attention and keep the algorithm happy. People forget youtube TikTok etc are marketing channels. We are the product. We put up with this stuff because the content is free.
@@parabob2359 or it could just because they copy each other? I'm not sure if it's the thing itself that helps, or more that people think doing the thing that a another successful podcast happens to should just be copied. It's why Hollywood superhero films mostly look and sound the same. Not great for creativity. But I know what you mean.
Wow the whole simplicity thing and friends and so on. Spot on my friend. Less is more, to much is unbearably overwhelming. I limit a lot of things in My life including work
Wow - that was so brilliant! thanks so much Dr Miquel! The discussion about coffee was both relatable and affirming. I have had to go without meds in recent weeks (national shortage) so am more reliant on coffee now. But I drink it respectfully- like it’s a medicine. Some days coffee is too much and other days I really need the stimulant ! … it’s about body awareness - being aware of what your brain/body is telling you. And the journaling helps with being able to predict high days and low days and to be prepared .. and ready to pamper - I loved that line ‘pamper your brain’ 😊
The nutritional advice is great and it is really in line with peri-menopause and menopause too. (60 F) I've actually tried to eat like this for years. I succumb to the junk food and sugar sometimes - recently woke up to that and changed back. It makes a huge difference for me to eat some Kefir (goat, I can't tolerate cow), nutty granola, and fruit every morning.
Man I could never put my finger on the absolute feeling of dread when confronted with something that goes against the state of mind I am in. This sound so relatable. Mostly during an argument I get hit with a flare of anger/distress which clouds my reasoning.
Wow thank you for such a wonderful video. As 50 yr old cyber security nerd with ADHD, RSD and dyslexic. Dr. Miguel Toribio-Mateas almost sounds like he is related to me. So grateful for seeing this. 🤓
We are the same age - I absolutely LOVE 2007’s Jus✝️ice album and Daft Punk is my all time favorite band. I listen to the same song on repeat for hours. It puts me in a trance and I can accomplish SO MUCH. ADHD’ers are the BEST people!
I really like the Podcast, i would have a little Request: The Intro is Difficult for me, i understand that its necessary for the algorithms. But for me its a barrier to watch the actually content, it spoils so much an is cut so fast.... Hard to explain, English is not my first language... Nonetheless, thanks for the great work! ❤
very interesting and detailed answer on coffee & caffeine. Very good remark, that as dverse the adhd symptoms are, as diverse the reaction on coffee is and that it varies if you are on or off medication.
I love these podcasts- it's been a great way to learn more about my recently-diagnosed ADHD inattentive type, and I can listen while I'm at work! Interestingly, here in Sweden I was assessed for both ADHD and autism at the same time- I'm not sure if that's standard practice here though, I was fortunate enough to be able to go private for my assessment rather than wait in a 2-year queue.
@@DrMiguelToribio-Mateas Thank you! It is definitely better, and improving more and more each week as I learn things and re-work old behaviours as needed. I'm very positive about the future now.
Me too!! Playing the same tracks over and over again. Oh yes, ADHD tax .... I really enjoyed Miguel Toribio-Mateas talking and his ideas on Simplicity, ingesting diversity (food) etc.
So he says the kefir but also, there was a change to a healthier diet overall so how can we know that the kefir was the deciding factor? I suppose I'll have to go and find the paper.
The advice was to reduce ultra-processed foods as much as possible and to focus on whole foods. It wasn't a prescription but more of a gentle recommendation.
@DrMiguelToribio-Mateas assuming the participants in the study made those dietary changes how could we be sure that the kefir was beneficial, not just the general improvement in diet? Definitely not trying to suggest kefir is not beneficial, just interested in how the study was run. Actually quite keen to try kefir in my diet, the gut brain link stuff is fascinating to me 💚.
@@twiggyvlogs6441 I would think they made all the participants of the trial (both those getting kefir and those not) eat less processed food overall. That's my understanding anyways. :) Probably to make sure the participants were eating somewhat similar, "neutral" foods and not recking the results of the trial by introducing heavy amounts of ingredients found in processed foods. This is just my speculation and interpretation though. :)
It's a fascinating idea at 15:53 that writing with your hand might help with ADHD symptoms. Is there any evidence that doodling can help with ADHD challenges? I've just been told that at my son's school, students will have marks taken off if they doodle on their work. If doodling is helping them concentrate or build motivation then this seems like a poor approach.
Once again i would really like to know why i have no depression or lows i watch thes videos and i relate to the constant doing activities forgeting things losing things my mind allways in thoughts all day but i never feel sad is there other people like me who arent moody and still enjoy all of my days i never snap or yell at anyone and am allways positive
Make sure it’s water kefir or plant based milk kefir. You don’t want to mess with your hormones by having dairy. That brings it’s own set of problems. Kefir is very easy to brew at home as is kombucha. I do both for my health.
In summary: It's worth investing your time to just watch the full video because it will ultimately save you so much more time and strife in the future.
Keto is high fat...I don't think he's suggesting a very high fat diet. He's recommending unprocessed foods, sugar in moderation, kefir and protein to start the day, for blood sugar regulation.
@@dmistry8304 TY I appreciate your feedback and support. I will say I've noticed an immediate change since restarting my keto diet. Difference between first keto at 20-25g of carbs per day and this time 25-40g. Still very good but now I need to work on other vices like my TV. 😂 That's been very difficult and not successful 😔.
If you're a grown man then grow up and show some manners. It takes less time to simply skip the intro than it does to write a rude comment. Honestly...
These podcasts are so interesting. I find the host to be very calming as well. 💞
