    Its so refreshing to see a real fishing video. Too many commercial carp videos now and they are so boring. Great work.

    I go to the smallest streams in Suffolk the streams are only 6inchs deep in places but i take the time to follow them and find deeper holes maybe 3 to 4 feet in depth maybe only 3 to 6 feet wide.
    I'm always amazed how many different fish live in streams and how they got there in first place trout, roach, eel's, dace, and the odd perch.
    I keep it simple using a small rod and reel i use 5lb main line a float with weights and a 2lb hook length with tiny hook, i always use maggots and the streams have never been fished as nobody would think twice about it.
    Great video's keep it up 👍👍👍👍👍👍

    Hi Bill, good to see you on the river bank, good advice for a beginner and maybe if out of the beginner's price range, maybe they can go to Argos or eBay

    Reminds me of the river Frome in Bristol and the river dearne in Barnsley only difference the Frome you can get big bream and roach and the dearne has big barbel and carp

    I had a little knot in my hook length when i fished last week, what causes them to happen? seems odd.
    I wanted to ask you Bill do you or have you used Drennan method connectors? i'd say they're the best by far for attaching hook lengths quickly but also you can quickly change from a method feeder to a bomb.
    Also interesting what you said about swimfeeder fishing on commercials. Theres' a small one acre lake i've been fishing crammed with small Carp, F1's, Koi, goldfish and silvers and i have fished it on the bomb i think four times now and there was no shortage of bites. Pretty sure others that fish there just pole fish it, with some whip and maybe just the rare odd guy with a bomb or feeder. Have you ever tried ledgering with just an Olivette? obviously the link ledger you used here works just as well but it should have the same effect in that it doesnt make much of a splash on the water and is just quicker to change to.

      cns180784 Hi sorry I don’t know what causes wind knots just wish I could stop them happening! If you look on my video ‘ how to set up a method feeder’ you will see I use the Drennan method connectors, but I also use the other type of ‘tulip bead’ connectors as well. As to your other question yes I have tried ledgering with an olivette, but prefer,if possible, a single or more shot as I think they imitate the sound of a pellet hitting the water but experiment to see what works on the day. In the winter I prefer not to use a bomb unless needed as the disturbance can definitely spook the fish. Tight Lines

    Looking at that far bank I would love to use the same rig but replace the feeder with 2SSG shots

    Is it the 9’6-11ft carp feeder combo bill? If so I’ve got one. Amazing for bomb fishing and like yourself I use it for chub on streams to👍🏻

    • @easyfishing1936
      @easyfishing1936  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      britishbluetess Hi this rod is the RedRange 9ft 6ins which is a discontinued model. I have had it for a few years now and have used it on several of my video’s. It is still available on eBay for about£49. The newer model is the 9ft RedRange MiniCarp feeder which is very similar, just 6ins shorter and a little more power. Don’t change your rod as the Series 7 feeder rods are lovely, as you have found out and very versatile and not just on commercials either. They are ideal for any short range work. For finesse work with hooklengths of 0.08 I have the UltraLight which is so mellow but more money. But all Drennan rods are well designed and well made I would recommend them to anyone. Tight Lines

    Hi bill was wondering the river you are fishing, looks a lovely spot ,is there some sort of guide to finding these sort of places local to your area

    • @easyfishing1936
      @easyfishing1936  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      marky marks .Hi as far as I’m aware there is no official guide to these sort of rivers. However the angling press do cover some of these in their “where to fish sections”. Just look on an ordanance survey map or if you are modern Google Earth. I just tend to keep my eyes open while driving around and investigate any small streams,drains and brooks that I see. Also your local tackle shop can be a good source and some stretches are club controlled, but a lot are free fishing. Don’t use google maps that misses out waterways that exist! Also try to ask local farmers for permission to fish streams and ponds on their land. Most will grant permission if approached politely. If you can tell me the area of the uk. You are in I may be able to point you to some waters. Tight Lines

    never have much luck with bread, or feeders in rivers but i dont have a light enough quiver tip for this kind of fishing.

    • @easyfishing1936
      @easyfishing1936  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BUSHCRAPPING . Hi well I don’t know where you fish but here in the UK all the rivers will respond to feeder fished bread. Don’t worry to much about the tackle! It depends on where you are fishing. Rivers like the Trent, Severn and Wye will require a much stronger set up with bigger hooks and heavier line and we are approaching the time of year when the feeder with bread can be deadly. Change the length of the hooklink, try a bigger or smaller hookbait with matching hook size and make sure you cast to the same place every time. Confidence is a very important issue once you work it out you will catch more fish. Have a look in the press too! Brilliant article in the Angling Times this week one on the feeder and one on bread.
