      Me too; first heard it (and many others of his) in the mid '80s. He's been a quiet backing track to my life.

    Have been a Sanborn disciple since 1980, love everything he's ever done, count this tune among my endless rotation plays on all forms of entertainment, both versions thereof!!!;

    I remember this album from 1981 when I was in Italy. I recorded it to cassette tape and a reel to reel tape deck if you guys can remember that far back. Great times with great music.

    Saw David Sanborn together with Al Jarreau for the first time at Rockpallast and fell in love with his sound. Playing his music now for many years. David Sanborn is a great musician

      I saw Al and Dave in concert at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia. I was hoping they'd play together that night, they didn't. But a year or 2 later, they played "Since I Fell For You " on the album "Double Vision" with Bob James. Awesome!

    Love this song! Gives me memories of years long past and still had the tape and the album! Jazz on a saxophone at it's best and so glad to be able to enjoy it in my youth!

    First heard this in Korea while in the Army (1981). We had a joint service assignment and Reggie from the Navy turned me on to the "LP". Best thing ever introduced me to in music.

    First heard this album in a record shop opposite where I worked in Waterloo, London in the 80s. Went in to buy something else, but asked for the album playing “right now!” Had never heard this kind of music before but I was hooked. Still have the album all these years later. Sublime.

      I don't know if it was me or my sister who wore this album out back in the 80s , and now that it's 2020 it still sounds good

      Your story of Waterloo station reminds me of a rare visit I made to Dagenham Heathway hearing Lee Ritenour's Feel the Night playing in a record shop. I went and asked what was playing and bought it right away. Voyeur has so many great tracks but Run for Cover was my introduction to a certain Marcus Miller and that bass line remains iconic. It is so sad that no music stores exist anymore, and if they did there would be little chance of hearing something this sophisticated.

    Yeah people got one better, first heard this great bro on the first Bob James album (1)early 70s with randy brecker,the late great Ralph McDonald, Eric Gale, Grover Washington and Ralph t. Introduced to me by my oldest brother fresh off his sophomore year in college. Haven't stopped since. When we black people were listening to this kind of music was when we were at our happiest. When the white man took over hip hop we were doomed.

    Marcus Miller is a helluva musician as well as a excellent producer/arranger. He has worked or either played on many of David Sanborn's albums and has perfomed with him live in concert. And you should youtube 'The Sun Don't Lie', the title track from his 1993 album of the same name, or any other Marcus Miller tune if you wish. He plays a mean ass bass as well as the bass clarinet.

  • @jamesnichols1119

    Not a major Sanborn guy, but Miller's bass playing makes the song.
