  • So Spud needed to pick something up from the area for work so I figured let's take a look around while we are there.
Let us know what you think, have you been here before? any recommendations or places to avoid.
obviously we have to nip in to wetherspoons, om a hot day like that it would of been rude not to. it just so happens the spoons here had outdoor seating and everything 😊
We had a great day exploring a new place as usual hope you enjoy watching.
we will have to revisit as we fancy walking the canal and this video was cut short but me forgetting to press record 🙄
    see you guys soon
Don't forget to like and subscribe it really is appreciated

Taylor Park is nice, if you have young children. Carr Mill dam has some lovely scenery a hotel and a nice pub/carvery at the side of the dam. I love watching the power boats in summer xD

Is there a cycle path over it? I feel ww may of been many years ago, but definitely sounds like we may need to revisit 😊

@@outandaboutwithus You can cycle around the dam, need to look out for pedestrians on some narrow sections and crests though. Yeah, it's a lovely place 🙂

The Hardshaw Centre is closing very soon (sometime during the Summer), so a lot of the shops from there have relocated into the other shopping centre.

We will make a return later in the year and do an update vlog. We do enjoy the area. Thank you for letting us know 😊
Have you got a favourite area to visit in St Helens? 😊

@@outandaboutwithus The Hardshaw Centre is rumoured to be closing at the end of May. Probably my favourite place is the Transport Museum (which is actually the other side of the Bus Station, not by the World of Glass). It is generally only open on weekends though.

There is a wonderful shop on North Road that sells the best shrunken and pickled heads you'll ever find.

So many of the greats walked those same streets.; Sir David (Proctor and) Gamble, William Mackay, the great glass innovator, Sir William Boston, the rugby giant, and, last but not least, the late lamented Johnny Wellie. Is it conceivable that this place, a mighty engine of the industrial revolution and our nation's post war recovery (where did the glass windows come from that grace the town hall in Stuttgart, Germany), is it even conceivable that St. Helens will not soon shake off its post-industial funk and rise again, like a roaring tiger, to bellow the virtues of industry, innovation and clean living across our wide continent, nay, indeed across this entire planet?? Methinks it is not conceivable. Rise Again, St. Helens. Rise again, your free-born adventurers. Rise again, you giants of the Earth!!!

Love the patriotism for this great town. Britain became 'Great' due the industry places and people from places like this provided. We love the mix of old and new buildings, retaining history whilst keeping the areas current.
Who knows what lies ahead but we should never seek to use from others what we can provide ourselves with.
      Cheers to the revolution!!
