That Scottish officer is exactly the way the police operate in Scotland mate. Try and say anything that they don't like, and they go straight to wanting to arrest you. As for the so-called racist element, I found it hilarious. I would have said a lot worse if the shoe was on the other foot. Videos like this is why you're the best in the business bro

Not giving the stop search record because of GDPR reasons is a stupid reason. Because AB didn't give his name there will be no personal identifying details on it so it's safe to release. The law says you are entitled to a stop search form. It cannot be refused on made up reasons.

    • @Josh-wu7kz
      @Josh-wu7kz 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +37

But the ID doesn’t prove anything anyway. Having AB’s name and address doesn’t help identify if he is the person on the body worn camera. They can just ask the officer to identify him from the CCTV footage.

    • @nocommentuk

It’s ridiculous that the constables and front counter staff have no idea of their legal obligations under PACE to provide a record of the search. Making people jump through hoops to get something they’ve legally entitled to is unacceptable, but this happens routinely across the country and police are allowed to get away with it because there’s nobody policing the police (other than auditors).

My husband has 3 cars and a motorbike but whenever he can he rides his bicycle in order to keep fit. He is 64 and since we live in the mountains he has no problem walking 5 miles to the nearest shop and back because he is fit. Quite clearly the male officer making the pathetic comment does not believe in exercise and particularly for men of 40 and over. To me this means only one thing - if it is necessary for him to chase anyone, innocent or not (perhaps he finds joggers suspicious), he would use a taser because he can't run. Clearly a danger to society imo and with an attitude that has no place from a grown man, let alone a police constable who is supposed to protect and serve. He is obviously not very bright either to make such a comment on camera!

PACE Code A, Paragraphs 4 states:
      Recording requirements
      (a) Searches which do not result in an arrest
      4.1
When an officer carries out a search in the exercise of any power to which this Code applies and the search does not result in the person searched or person in charge of the vehicle searched being arrested and taken to a police station, a record must be made of it, electronically or on paper, unless there are exceptional circumstances which make this wholly impracticable (e.g. in situations involving public disorder or when the recording officer's presence is urgently required elsewhere. If a record is to be made, the officer carrying out the search must make the record on the spot unless this is not practicable, in which case, the officer must make the record as soon as practicable after the search is completed.
      4.2
If the record is made at the time, the person who has been searched or who is in charge of the vehicle that has been searched must be asked if they want a copy and if they do, they must be given immediately, either:
      • a copy of the record; or
a receipt which explains how they can obtain a copy of the full record or access to an electronic copy of the record.
4.2A An officer is not required to provide a copy of the full record or a receipt at the time if they are called to an incident of higher priority. (Note 21: In situations where it is not practicable to provide a written copy of the record or immediate access to an electronic copy of the record or a receipt of the search at the time (see paragraph 4.2A above), the officer should consider giving the person details of the station which they may attend for a copy of the record. A receipt may take the form of a simple business card which includes sufficient information to locate the record should the person ask for copy, for example, the date and place of the search, and a reference number or the name of the officer who carried out the search (unless paragraph 4.4 applies).)

I'm a retired Merseyside police sergeant and frankly I'm embarrassed by this current generation of paranoid, self entitled, narcissistic children. Merseyside police constantly complain about a lack of resources. Recently there was a domestic in progress in Rock Ferry on the Wirral. The 2 response officers that attended in seperate vehicles came from Speke which is over 8 miles away on the other side of the Mersey. This would appear to support the lack of resources argument ....OR..... is it that the Wirral is considered low priority and not worthy of adequate coverage. They managed to find 6 officers in a matter of minutes just for a man with a camera. Double standards ?

Exactly. Their failure to comply with PACE Code A makes it so difficult for people to get search records, although most people probably don’t even realise that they’re entitled to a record of the search as police usually fail to inform them. I also believe most searches go unrecorded, unless something illegal is actually found, which skews the search statistics.

my car parked road side, id have to call the cops 100's times a day for everyone who looks in to my car, im tempted to see response. i had people recently looking under cars but time i managed to find the cctv clip and dash cam clips it was not a 999 i tried to call 101 i was on hold over an hour and still failed to speak to anyone, trying to give them a heads up to prevent crime as they could find the right street in the town to nick cats but i could not even get hold them for an actual potential crime and very suspicious as two guys walking down the street they split and when they get to mine and next door car the one guy lies down looking under both cars then they go meet up again so god knows if they found a street and came back to steel. if so my called could stopped them in their track and at least name on police database so if something did happen they top list. but police do there best not to deal with crime it disgusting the way the police are these days, a whole army of them for guy with a camera r using eyes but when something really suspicious what could lead to a crime they not bothered

    1) Reason was "you didn't talk to me" & "looking is strange" ...😂😂😂
    2) Looking for "items that could be used in theft"
    3) Didn't give name, number, station, copy of search etc.
    4) A slightly louder voice does NOT justify use of violence
    5) Called Mate by the clowns
    6) No offer or provision of a search record
    7) Illegal threat of ABSO - grossly unprofessional

Not necessarily - as the situation started within the grounds of the Station - if, as is extremely likely, there’s a warning sign, then that is enough.
One warning required from that organisation. It may (likely) have therefore been met. They’re all that “organisation”.
