It kinda reminds me of that one case where a woman “sued” mcdonalds for serving coffee at an unsafe temperature, causing her 3rd degree burns when it spilled on her in her car. To be fair though, in her case it was a reasonable lawsuit cause all she was asking for was reparations for her medical bills, because if you look up the extent of her injuries, they were pretty extensive and quite painful. Shame that she got blasted on newspapers for it though.

I've got family working at Disneyland Paris and they told me there are some kids who have straight up punched/attacked the costumed characters. It turns out they indeed are allowed to defend themselves in these cases, if the person who's present to guard them isn't fast enough. I'm not saying that was the case in the video, but it really is allowed in certain cases.

      @AudieHolland 3 ปีที่แล้ว +174

Edit: *the alligator is innocent. The kid's father, Thomas Mosley was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death and drowning his 2-year old son.*
No sensible parent would keep their *2-year old* kid near the water unattended. Without the alligator, the kid would have probably fallen in and drowned by itself.
I wonder: how much of a 2-year old boy will be left after a hungry alligator has finished with it?
I have no special love for Disney but in this case, perhaps the boy did just fall in and drowned.
Then later a curious alligator might have taken a bit out of the body and decided it wasn't proper to eat.

Please see my comment above regarding people who don't take the time to read signs or take the time beforehand to double-check the health of all party members. In addition, if visitors ever take the opportunity to visit the Everglades and Alligator Alley, the Park Rangers explain just how dangerous these beasts are, including their amazing ability to leap up out of the water to grab their prey and pull it under the water in the infamous death roll. I applaud Disney for taking the time to install their warning signs at all beaches and other venues containing open bodies of water.

The official investigative reports states that there was a sign that says no swimming. There was not a sign that warned of gators. The child was standing in a couple of inches of water, bent forward to collect the water in a bucket for a sand castle, when a gator grabbed him by the head. The father did go into the water to try to save his child. His hands were injured by the gator's teeth and the gator got away.
Also, the report indicated that the lagoon was not a popular place for gators because of the high activity. Without a warning, the out of state visitors would not have known that there was danger at the hotel's beach.

Security did yell at him repeatedly to warn him but he willfully ignored them and this was 100% his fault. And it’s really not hard to find information about this, it’s just not brought up often because it is from 1966 and there is zero reason to still be talking about a purely avoidable incident from more than 50 years ago.

I remember always riding in the cab with the driver on the monorail when I was little. On my sixth birthday, I remember leaving the Grand Floridian, and being told that I couldn’t ride up front anymore. When I asked why, they said that it was too distracting for drivers. Two days later, one of the drivers let me sit up front, and I remember seeing him make a surprised Pikachu face. I guess he forgot about the new rules and, being an older guy, was so used to letting kids ride up front that he just sort of went on autopilot during boarding. I miss being able to ride up front :(

That’s a common rumor but not true, people have been pronounced dead on property before. It was -potentially- more true like, decades ago, when there were issues with Disney employees being instructed to contact Disney management before emergency services, but this has been outdated policy for a long time. And yes, in the grander scheme of things, there really haven’t been a lot of incidents considering the millions of visitors the Disney parks get every year. It doesn’t help that most dramatic incidents referenced are from decades ago. If you Google recent incidents, most going back years are due to pre-existing conditions, or accidents that could’ve happened anywhere, like people tripping.

    2. The Pulse Night Club shooter originally went to Disney Springs first, but turned away because of the police presence that night.

I was in the park the day that little boy went kissing. They cleared all the water out, blocked off the seating area on the sand around it, closed off like half of the building it was near, helicopters were flying around the park. It was crazy. Around that same time was when someone shot up that pulse nightclub in downtown Orlando. It was a very interesting time to be at Disney lol

We actually had a decent time when we visited in the early 00's.
Epcot wasn't too busy and it had many 'original pubs and beerstands' from around the world.
It looked tacky of course but the beer was really authentic and quite good!
    No lame bud for us.
My mother also got tired of standing in the queus all the time, so she took her wheelchair the next day and suddenly we were skipping all the queues because handicapped people with their company were allowed to!
