I found your channel recently and really enjoy it! I do like to watch your grocery shops, your fridge clean out, budget shopping, your amazing simple meals, and even Jack! I also love to budget shop, cook, and my 4 kitties.
I told my partner we’ve got enough in the apartment I won’t be shopping again for at least a month, I kept doing little top up shops too and that’s absolutely a killer to the budget.
@@TheBudgetFoodie it doesn’t help that they put chicken on sale here for more than $1 off normal price! I thought “well I can’t ignore that, we’re totally out and I have no idea when it’s going to be so cheap again!” And several other sale items to save money long term.
❤ I really love shopping either as soon as the store opens or an hour before closing cause there are less people, ticketed sale items are usually there & I like to wander around ( esp if I give myself a little extra out of my take put fund to find new things I've either never bought before or things I love that I might not always buy.
Just did a huge shop at cosco yesterday, thank goodness I had my daughter along to push the cart and load the card. 1200. Dollars later I’m set for winter for certain products. Yay hate going out on the winter roads.
You could do a mini shop for basics like bread and milk and freeze it including milk so your not going out to get the extras and then adding things on that you don't need.
Great video. Did you know 1/4 cup plain yogurt can replace l egg when baking , so dont waste any left over. l make hm yogurt in flask & l freeze portions, so no waste. We cant do top up shopping as we live in countryside & walking to local shop is too far as im disabled with no car. Staying out of supermarkets is a really money saver. We bought our little cottage out right at retirement by extreme frugality,.It can be done if planned, keep up yr money saving goals, you are doing so well.
Love the accent m love the style, love the budget and foods. I also love Aldi and Lidhl but they are not in new Zealand 🇳🇿💔 we have a duopoly and food is very expensive. Same April already ! And yes I love grocery shopping. Must reduce my portions! Haha snap!
I enjoy the longer videos! Re: those peppers, not sure if you're aware but those will need thinning out very soon or they will start competing for nutrients, you just want 1 or /maybe/ 2 of those shoots per pot by the end, and they will need progressively bigger pots. You could try repotting some shoots if you want, they may survive, but depends how many plants you want, bell peppers grow about 5-10 peppers per plant. Can't wait to see how they do!
Hello, love food shopping too, as well as doing a fridge audit. Somehow it gives me a pleasant feeling to know that I have plenty of food in the fridge.😅 I normally do the "big" groceries shopping, monthly or each 2 weeks. It helps me a lot to stick to my food budget.
My fave liver recipe involves only very lightly frying it, then adding double cream, a little french mustard, and mango chutney. Strangely delicious! As for food shopping... I'm not a fan myself BUT I really enjoy watching videos of other people's shopping trips 😅 You did so well with your budget. What a saving! BTW, I saw that 99% mortgage scheme was announced this week. Might be worth googling.
Lilds currently has garden offers on plastic gardeb greenhouses we bought 2 mini greenhouses cheaply wilkos last year and it really helped start the seeds off as uk spring weather either too cold or too wet. Not too late to restart some. I like food shopping if by myself and store not too busy. Laughed to name your kicthen appliances. Some grreat meals and planning this week . Did you know every time you shop at lilds and use the app thered daily scratch card as i won 20% off frozen berries and natural yogurt so got both other day. Find feta even if tubbed goes bad . Keto looks interesting think American have beef breakfast as burritos. Still think you did amazing remember some months longer than others as march and april slightly over 4 weeks so maybe weekly budget tahr changes on 5 week months. Iur financial month is hubbys pay day 30th but april wuth bank holiday and weekend april works out 34 days to meal plan. You have treat yourself sometimes flowers always cheer me up.
Oh wow great tip about the mini greenhouses, I shall investigate. I didn't know about the lidl scratch card either, great tips! The flowers did really cheer me up xx speak soon x
I am not a fan of liver but if you soak it in milk before hand, drain it, pat it dry then gently fry it, it gives it a more delicate flavour. Well done on reducing your food shops so much. It's very impressive
Just subscribed couple of days ago. I think your doing amazing. I'm vegetarian keto and my husband is more carnivore, he does eat some veg. Here in US I've been averaging $450/month this year. Seems ridiculous as I am budgeting, however I rarely have access to a good budge store. Yesterday I got to go to an Aldi, wow such better prices. I didnt actually check against my usual store, but i estimate i saved about 1/3, not exaggerating! There is one coming to my region, I cannot wait!

@@TheBudgetFoodieI don’t do online shopping. I am able to go into a shop without having a panic attack now but I have to plan it in advance. It’s taken me about 5 years to manage popping into a shop.
I can get like this too with shopping even though usually I am quite sociable, it’s on days when I feel ill (with fibromyalgia symptoms) that I struggle more. I thought about online shopping but I do like to choose items myself to check for best dates etc - I try to go when it will be less busy so either 10 am (after the morning rush and before the lunchtime one) or at about 3 when people are doing the school run etc and avoid teatime and bank holidays etc

Great month! I'm so amazed at what you got for "a fiver." You wouldn't have gotten the meat at all for that in Florida, much less other items to go with it.
Hello! The weather has been superb! I'm in Jacksonville (NE Florida....our Jaguars football team plays in London every year). My husband went to the local grocery store last night. This is a regional chain that Aldi has purchased but nothing has changed yet. He bought: 18oz box Cheerios cereal $7.49 3 lbs green apples $6.99 2.23 lbs bananas $1.54 3 lbs strawberries $10 2- 6oz organic raspberries $11.98 1- 6oz blackberries $3.34 1 lbs pears (2 count) $2.54 Total $43.88 after discounts This is pretty typical pricing. Aldi can be a little cheaper. Food, and food quality food, is expensive. I'm glad we aren't feeding teenagers any longer. Our kids are grown but I'm concerned about the economy for their sakes.
Omg yes, not feeding teenagers I bet saves you plenty of money! I am jealous of your weather it is so cold and rainy here in Norwich at the moment. Will look up Jacksonville on the map xx
Im a new subscriber hi! Im binge watching your vlogs 😀 I have a couple of suggestions - have you looked up a local community food pantry? Before you panic, these are not for food poor as much as to prevent food waste, a group of volunteers collect end of date food from local shops, then provide it for anyone for a donation. Some have a set charge, others just say pay what you can afford. Theres usually a lot of bread, but also plenty of veg and fruit, plus sandwiches, canned goods, even meat and fish etc. My other suggestion is for liver, lambs is nicer, fry onion till soft, fry the liver in small pieces, then add a segmented orange plus the juice, (or just use orange juice for ease and speed). I believe the orange helps aid the digestion of the vitamins in the liver and it makes it tasty!
