I believe this area is off limits for fishing. The two guys on the shore on the right are trespassing and that boat is not allowed in that part of the water. These are the guys who ruin it for the rest of us.
I fished here the other day and caught my first chinook salmon ever. had no idea it's trespassing...there's no signs nothing. all I could think was the people who fish there don't respect the environment because theres garbage everywhere and dead salmon but I did no harm. cleaned up after myself caught and a perfect release no harm to the fish. I don't see why it's illegal to fish there its the perfect spot. beautiful and the salmon are everywhere. I caught 2 on a J13 in under an hour. Thought it was ok for me to be there...I apologize to anyone if fishing there is any sort of disrespect.
@@skippy91 in the regulations its by LAW in Ontario that you cant fish by any dam only 23 meters dow below it. You don't need signs you just have to know your regulations, and if you don't well id slap you with a ticket as well.
After fishing this basin for 45 years, I have noticed that you have always had to climb over a fence to get to this particular spot. Rather than get ignorant about it as some posters seem to want, If you climb over a fence to get to the spot, you are trespassing. As far as the 23 meter rule, that is the same everywhere. In this spot, the ticket that gets issued is'Trespass to Fish'. It is regularly enforced and tickets run $165. Oh and Fishtales Tyler, I'd gladly call the CO for you.
The 23 meter rule does not apply to this dam and you can contact the local MNR office and inquire. It is not a sanctuary and the dam is impassable (No fish assist) meaning you can fish it. The boat is legal but shore is not only because of trespassing.And again call and hear it from the enforcement officer for yourself at 905 562 4147.
Hey there! I know this thread is old but my friends and I are just getting into fishing. Is it legal to fish off of the bridge lower part of the bridge there? Or is that trespassing as well?
@@calebshaver6823 It's legal to fish from the bridge which I heard is being dismantled as the base is caving in . I also know people have been fined fishing at the dam ,and I'm sure the rule is no boats are allowed within 23 meters . You have to go over a fence or bridge railing to fish there (trespassing) . If it was legal to fish from boat or shore it would be a zoo there .
