Non-Stop Brown Trout Fishing Action - Lake Ontario 2019

- It was windy, raining and cold but the bite was on fire for me. I must've landed 7 or 8 and lost about double that in a 2 hr window. At one point I was the only one catching. I had to make sure I had my line in the water at all times because I knew the bite can shut off anytime. I was on a mission to catch as many fish as I can that day.
GEAR USED
Rod: St. Croix Avid 10'6 Medium/Fast
Reel: Shimano Stradic FA CI4+ 4000
Main Line: 10lb Berkley Fireline Crystal
Leader Line: 8-10lb Flurocarbon
Bait: Roe Bags

True North Angler I lost track of how many I caught, I stopped taking pics because they all started to look the same after

Last Cast Production thanks, I had to make sure my bounce was proper to get them to bite. The other guys were having a hard time getting bit

Pump! In my backyard !
jimmy samdass really? You have an awesome fishery in your backyard
You guys are having better luck than me when I fish port
Megatron just lucky 🍀
A+
Finally a new video brother, when was this video record ?You should use your new baitcaster rod for the crank bait , more fun...
Jim J I’ll have to give that a try. I wish I was using that setup on this day. I think that setup would’ve been better suited for this style of fishing
This looks amazing!!! Is this near the hospital down town Toronto?
Great vid! What rod model are you using?
Chai Vang st.croix avid 10’6 medium/fast
dope vid!!! do you guys release these fish by choice or is that law up there?? just hit the sub button, watching all the way from florida, would love to fish up there one of these days!
Lion's Tale Adventures we release by choice. We’re usually catch and release with browns and steelhead but we did keep 1 brown each for it’s eggs.
@@PUMPKNOWSFISHING that's dope man! thanks for answering.. wasn't sure if they were protected or what not..
@@LionelJamesfishing 3 fish limit on browns and salmon. 1 fish limit on steelhead.
Is that a Croix avid salmon steelhead sadly discontinued? And Shimano Ci4 spinning reel? That’s my favorite tool for fishing Lake Michigan personally : )
Yup, big fan of the avid salmon / steelhead rods. I’ll try to pick up extras when they pop up on marketplace at a good prices
I would like to go with you around d t.o !!!! What weights where u using for it to.get down there.
zoomzoomgt It depends on how fast the water is moving. I start off with an once sinker. If I’m dragging on the bottom it means it’s too heavy. If you don’t feel bottom it means too light. Find a weight that ticks bottom
Do you mind sharing your bottom bouncing set up and techniques? How long is your bait line/ sinker line, what lbs test are you using, how to avoid snagging... i tried fishing here a few times but got nothing except losing tons of sinkers :))
Too much weight. Looking at the water he was fishing probably a number 5 and a number 7. 8-10 foot 10 lb leader off the main (12 lb main line) and 24 inches of 8 lb flouro tippet off a 3 way swivel. Drop the weight off a 3-4 inch piece of 12lb mono off the 3 way to help with lost rigs, with the main and tippet tied to the other 2 swivel loops respectively. The drift is most important once you get the weight right. Start inside middle edge and keep working out until you hit them. Throw little pink worms rigged wacky style, fresh roe bags, and egg flies keep tight on the line so you feel bottom. I would wish you luck, but armed with this info you will not need it, just a matter of time
Just bought my first centerpin and Coming April 4th is there any place or area in the credit river that you can recommend. I don't need an exact location because I know us fellow anglers like to keep that secret but just a general area would be nice :p nice fish btw
Dominik C what’s the closest tributary close to you? And I would start there to figure out how to use it. That’s what I did when fishing on the Humber river
I'll be shore fishing this weekend on the Eastern shore near Henderson. Are the salmon seasonal? What can I hope for?
Salmon come in around the beginning of September. They are best for dog food. Best shore and stream fishing months are November and March for steelhead and Browns
@@mattschrader5047 thank you
Were you guys bottom bouncing or float fishing?
HardToMell o bottom bouncing
PUMP KNOWS FISHING thanks a lot man planning on going tomorrow trying to get my first fish this year
HardToMell o good luck tomorrow 👍
PUMP KNOWS FISHING thankyou very much sir hope you have a good year fishing
What size sinker did you use?
Keya Han I think 3/4 or 1oz but it all depends on how strong the current is that day
I live around there, have to visit one of these days....
Bk Jeong really? Give it a shot
Pickering?
@@fishmonkesus Port D
wow beautiful fish ....can you eat these from lake ontario
tsocanuck they’re safe to eat but limit yourself on how much you eat. There’s a guide outline for eating Lake Ontario fish, you can google it to see how much you can consume a month.
@@PUMPKNOWSFISHING thank you
Hey pump was this last April ?
FUGGN EH PUMP
George D yea man 👍
@@PUMPKNOWSFISHING ANY HARDWATER VIDS ON DECK?
Were you chucking spoons or bottom bouncing roe?
Jordan Pinnell I was bouncing roe bags off the bottom
What size line to the hook?
TheFisherman78 I was using a 8lb leader, I could’ve probably been fine with 10lb
PUMP KNOWS FISHING nice man, I imagined fishing would be better down there than it is here on the north shore of lake O, I may head down sometime this week.
How much weight did you use
HardToMell o it all depends on the flow, I use 1/2oz to 1 1/2oz
PUMP KNOWS FISHING thanks man get skunked almost every time I go for trout here
What were you using? Can"t see nothing!!!
Paul Beaulieu I was using a 3 way swivel to a pencil weight and a roe bag for bait
Beautiful fish! What month was this?
My guess would be early to mid December, Most of the browns were spawned out, just oak leaves on the ground
@@mattschrader5047 Thanks Matt, appreciate the info. Love trout fishing!
@@gregk7116 Beautiful fish in beautiful places is my jam
I think it's more than luck lol
