Seeing Norman Cook playing bass with Paul Heaton in 2024 was not my list of things to watch out for! Awesome!!
He was the bassist in the housemartins & plays guitar & bass on a lot of og fatboy slim records
It was something I have been waiting to happen there for years. Shame he didn't join Paul in doing the dance
Nice to see Paul and Norman playing together again
Never thought I'd see them play again but there great together
Wish Stan had been there too
Norman Cook has definitely not forgotten how to play the bass 😍
Well what a complete joy to see Paul and Norman playing with each other again.....its just like all the years has melted away and was back there 21 years ago !!! (plus a bit of VAT).....Well done xXx
This made my heart explode with happiness 🥹🥹
Paul heaton the most underrated songwriter ever
Couldn't agree more fantastic singer/songwriter
He’s no Taylor Swift.
@@WillSelflessness are you drunk or just stupid
@@sgbh8874 Trailor Swift? Seriously? She a talentless lip-syncing trolip like the rest of them! With Giraffe legs!
Not underrated at all. The Housemartins and Beautiful South had quite a few No. 1 albums!
Been into rock music all my life. But no one can dislike this song. Stood the test of time and brings a smile to my face.
Agreed the beautiful south and housemartins are my guilty pleasure
Massively underrated!
Made my day when he did his little dance. Love this guy ❤
For me Paul Heaton was my Glastonbury highlight
Same here,he never disappoints.
He is a TOP BLOKE!
Definitely
Shame he can't remember the words to his songs though.
@andrewslade3961 Fair 🤭 There are a LOT of words in his songs, though. His voice has held up well though.
WOW!! So good to see Paul performing, he sounds the same!! FANTASTIC!!
And Norman Cook??
Damn this is freaking fantastic. How can you not be happy after that. Thanks folks
What an absolute joy that was to see. Thanks all 👍
The Beautiful South are one of my favourite bands and to see Paul Heaton sounding incredible all these years is so good to see! 👏🏼
This was a Housemartins song, I remember seeing them at my Uni after exams in 1986
Paul and Norm have still got it!!!
Wonderful musician and a wonderful fellow. The generosity and humility of this guy is so genuine - the causes he supports, where he puts his money, even the house he lives in.
It’s actually shocking the amount of people that don’t know that Norman Cook was a successful musician many years before he became a DJ. One of the biggest British bands of the 80’s and various other short lived bands after the Housemartins. I was more shocked when he became Fatboy Slim, can still remember him being referred to as “the housemartins bass player” for many years before the name Fatboy Slim stuck.
That’s crazy and I actually never knew that. Always known him as fat boy slim. Thanks for the info.
He's not even Norman is he , real name is Quentin
This brought tears to my eyes...
🙏👍
Strangely it did me too. Where have all those years gone ?
Wish that Stan had been up there too
@@mrmods7912 That's a great shout.👍
how I love this song and seeing these dudes together again made me cry
One of the definitive Anthems of my Youth, end of School years, over the Park sunny Days, best mates, Weed, Girls and good good times :)
And where are you now lol. Drugs, lost your mates, no qualifications, babies, responsibilities ?? 🙂
Hope it's all worked out in life for you my friend ?
@@AndreA-ke2id Old and content. Not too many regrets looking back. Run 2 small businesses and work for a Homeless Charity with the option of moving abroad later on and chilling, so all good, thanks for the concern :)
Love it! Very happy memories of Hull University and Grafton Street - home of Paul Heaton and the birth of The HouseMartins.
Mainbrace massive
I worked in Grafton Street Jacksons after leaving Hull Uni and saw Paul and the boys most days after they had got up and been to Skeltons.
I used to live on Churchill grove, around the back of Grafton St. 1990-91
I came from Germany, joined Hull University Ents. Lived on Marlborough Avenue. Good times.
Absolutely brilliant. Especially since I remember the track when it first came out
Saw The Housemartins at Glastonbury in...1986...... 38 years ago! blimey.
Does Norman/Fatboy Slim still look the same???
And Paul's still grooving the The Happy Hour shuffle at 62. C'mon, Cmon, C'mon.
I smiled the whole way through 😊
The last time I saw these two together was on that very stage, it was early on the Sunday morning in 1986, I was down the front, badly hungover and desperate to get home to watch the big game on tv later that evening. They were as brilliant as ever that day, so good to see them back together, albeit very briefly.
This made my day. Had no idea Cook/Slim still plays bass. Sounds great!
Pure class and full of happiness and fun just as it should be!! We salute you👍👏
love you both Paul and Norman...los amo!!!
love these two on the same stage
This makes me immeasurably happy!
This is wonderful have been waiting for this reunion for soo long! 🥳🥳🥳
I remember being a little kid in front of the TV watching this on Top Of The Pops😂😂... 80s Pop Nostalgia
Good days hey ?
In the charts for my first term at Uni. Oh what simple and happy days they were. This song always takes me back 😊
Just love Rianne Downey's energy
Is that who she is…. Great voice too
Long live the Housemartins! Wish they did one more.
This is so cool. And to see Norman Cook too. Wild.
Thank you so much guys. Sounding great. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did? You have achieved so much since the Housemartins but nice to see you together again. Norman switching the effortlessly from 303 to bass guitar. London 0 Glastonbury 4 (or is that 2?). 😃
Such a happy song!
Gives me chills!
sometimes the things that seem simple are the most difficult. This is a great song- i haven’t heard it in a while but your
cover is really good- bravo!
I love Norman Cook.
Following him made me happy like a 1000x already and still counting.
Thanks man, you are music to me.

Paul Heaton must be one of the best songwriters we've produced. And he sounds great even now too.

Great songwriter. And a lovely man.
I've loved Pearl Jam since I can't remember when. My boys loved them and so did I and still do!! ❤❤
I'm 14 again....thanks for posting. Was a member of their fan club. ❤❤❤❤
Paul Heaton is the finest living British songwriter and above that he is a top man. The highlight of Glastonbury for sure.
Dunno, Joe Elliot sold 100m records and Paul McCartney sold 200m
@@howiebiteme sales are not related to the quality of the writing, otherwise one of our finest authors is E L James.

@@liamstenson2784 Thanks Liam for drawing up a list of people who are not as good at songwriting as Paul Heaton is.
Another superb performance by Paul
Beautiful, thanks Paul Heaton, thanks Norman Hook. We went back to the 80s and the best of their music for a few moments. Thank you and may The Housemartins come back sometime.
I was so hoping that Stan Cullimore would join them on stage... That would have brought a tear to my eye.... Brilliant!
Cool to see boys back
I lost it when Norman (Fatboy) came out even though it was in some way expected. This was definitely one of the best moments this year for me.
1:32 Ahhh...a Housemartins moment! Paul soulboy skips and Norman smiles...
One of the best acts of the weekend
Brilliant.
The highlight of the festival !
Paul Heaton must have the most distinctive voice in UK pop history. Perfect pitch
Brilliant to see Norman Cook back for that 1 song house Martins rule 😊 hull class
