Have the wifey kiss that big fat dome for me ✌🏾❤️👾 (that’s the forehead…not sure if people call it the dome anymore) lolol…I’m getting on in years!
I half expected the player cards to have Hits, Misses and CO powers on them. XD. Love the idea - it's great way to get viewers hype about the combatants, especially on the occasion that you feature/introduce a player who isn't as well known yet.
The mark of a great sami player seems to be proper use of victory march. As cool as it was to capture all those properties at first, it feels like Panas spread out their infantry too much, allowing Starflash to clean them up on the follow up despite the terrible disadvantage he seemed to be in.
9:47 Panas missed an opportunity here to block the B Copter with his 4 Infantry. 1. Attack with 2 HP Infantry above the B Copter, destroy Starflash's 1HP Infantry. 2. Move 2 HP Infantry south 2 tiles. 3. Move Full HP Infantry down 1 tile on the mountain. It would take 2 turns to destroy it, but worth the effort considering how much damage Starflash's first B Copter did to Panas the entire game, finally getting destroyed on the final turn at 27:27.
I'm looking if there are any flaws to trapping the B Copter, so Panas can bring 1 more infantry on the next turn to keep the copter trapped for 2 turns in a row for the AA to reach on that 2nd turn, but Starflash has a tank that can chase Panas AA and ruin the plan.
Yes, as I pointed out it would take Panas an extra turn to destroy the Copter on Turn 9, and the implication is more Infantry would need to be sacrificed to block it. With 4 bases, unit count can be increased more easily. The point is that first Copter did damage the entire match, it would’ve been worth the cost. Starflash built his first Copter on Turn 4 and second one on Turn 11. It would’ve been a different game had that first B Copter been destroyed then. Starflash’s unit composition and build order would be impacted. He may have felt compelled to build another Copter to replace it earlier on. We later saw how valuable the Copter swarm was on Panas’ lone weakside base. On Day 7, Panas could’ve built a Mech on the lower base, and it could cover the AA in 2 day’s time.
2 Com Towers (Sami), 1 Com Tower (Kindle): Sami AA takes 50-56% damage if placed on the Com Tower. That 5HP AA would still deal 66-70% damage to the Kindle Copter, likely reducing it to 3HP due to Infantry counterattacks. A 3HP Copter can be chipped to death, and would be effectively neutered at that point. It was in such an advantageous position, the trade would’ve been worth the short-term value gap. Since Kindle’s SW base is within 6 tiles (tank reinforcement) range, Panas shouldn’t send more units to take the Copter down than needed. Maybe he’d send Sami’s western Tank on the base to cover an attack on the AA on the Com Tower. Doing this most likely would’ve changed Starflash’s build order, and my guess is Starflash would build a Tank in the SW base instead of an Infantry on Turn 8.
lose land not men, land can be taken back. lose men not land, both men and land are lost. that seems to be pretty much the central point of this match.
9:22 I wonder if Starflash was contemplating to kill the infantry block the way to the AA using his copter + city capturing infantry and then get a city boosted tank shot on the AA, but he ultimately decided against it when he finished capturing that city. Looking at the incoming tank above, I guess he wasn't wild enough to delay his own capture and also wanted to use his copter more aggressively preventing Sami's capture game.
His next advance wars replay will be the 100th one. And I hope he does something big with it, like have a competitive match between 16 players, or just more then a 1v1.
If I was playing this match and sami victory marched all over me and I was 10 properties down including a base I'd have just immediately resigned. Starflash is just built different.
Even with the strong first Victory March, Sami never capitalized on the income or comm tower lead. StarFlash forced Panam to build specific units and completely shut him down.
The player card and your presentation of the whole adw community are what keep me watching your videos the most. I played adv a long time ago, and thanks to you, I'm getting my toes into this community and the ocean of content you have in this channel. Keep it up; you are doing fantastic!
Hypothetically, if Lash got a day to day that gave all her units a minimum of 1 terrain star regardless of terrain (so roads, coast, bridges gave 1 star, but woods would still only give 2, plains would only give 1 etc.), would that make her too strong or just fine?
1 terrain star minimum, meaning she'd have plains defense on roads and shoals? Probably pretty strong, but not game breaking. Might make her a weak T2.
@@Mangs1337 Agree somewhat, but would this synergize with her normal d2d or replace it? Not sure that'd make her particularly good if her d2d basically just guarantees a minimum 100/110 at max hp. After all, terrain star effects drop with hp, right?
@@Zsaver3 The idea i had was synergy, so she'd atleast get something out of her powers when she pops it on 0 star terrain. Because right now all that does is give her the general 10% defense boost everyone gets and nothing else.
Would be too strong. She'd get far too easy 2HKOs and she wouldn't have any down sides. Her not getting any bonus with roads and air units is the down side to balance her. Her D2D isn't even bad, it's her powers that suck.
I think you had the right idea. Panas should have sacked his b-copter to damage that infantry that was 100% guaranteed to recapture the base immediately, but also the only chance Starflash had to ever recapturing it. He cannot do it the turn you mention it, but he could have done it during the SCOP turn. Instead, the copter did basically nothing. "Biggest mistake of the match"
Starflash yap session cause he THAT GUY: Starflash is just an axe. There is no defensive mechanisms on the weapon. It focuses all its resources on pressing onslaught. He does not waste units putting them in walls, where if one can hit him first with superior force, he falls faster than his peers. That said, if you do NOT hit him first, and this is the usual case: he is hitting you. 1. His attack formations are SCHNASTY, he knows what to hit, what's important to you, and due to aggressively pumping out frontline units, AND sending them at you every turn he can, he WILL have the force to hit things he knows are precious to you. He doesn't just blindly attack, when he's in range, you're in trouble. 2. Him not wasting time worrying about defense, he does what Deejus has coined "stabbling" to its extreme. He has taken this philosophy to its height. Bro left his left side damn near vacant, and even with all that going on, he pressed SO much offense on his weak side, it drowned out the opponent. "I can hit you WAY harder than you're going to hit me." I love Starflash matches, even if he loses, because he turns them from strategic long-winded battles, to blatant contests of might, and the test of the opponent is: "Can they field more guns than him?" You just have to make sure you have the beef to back up your bluffs, he doesn't assess whether you're going to beat him or not before he engages, he outright tests it every turn. God damn, enemy had all 4 comm towers, but due to Panas not defending from the assault, he lost more units than he could muster per turn, making all that money worthless. Panas had some cool schemes though, want to see more of this guy. Getting 4 towers, even with Sami is not as easy as it sounds. And Lastly, god damn I see Star's Kindle strat more in plain sight here, dude uses Urban Blight like grimm guy pops Knuckduster. His good offense formations (where his units attack from, not just what he attacks) reallt synergize well with the city buff, he uses it constantly. So either HE has the cities and is winning the combat, or you are, and he will just expend his already damaged units from his recklessness, to get meter, to dislodge YOU from your cities. Starflash, your offense is why your name will be remembered. GGs to Panas, certain we will be seeing more of you. There is a saying, the best 'defense' is a good 'offense', one need not be on the 'defense' if their opponent is 'always' on the defense
With a one Tower lead Sami has her weakness negated.
With a four Tower lead Colin is nearly a Sturm with cheaper units.
