You should've held the kitchen torch farther from the creme brulee. I noticed that some parts of the sugar were completely black. You want an amber color
SSJR Dude This is fantastic advice! I'll keep it in mind in the future. Justin Koening is right, I try to stay faithful to the game... and sometimes I wing it if the instructions aren't clear. I totally agree for anyone else looking to make creme brulee though
Yup! Plus you gotta make sure your sugar is pretty even! You can do what the Bon Apetit kitchen did for their pumpkin pie- and that is layer sugar, caramelize, layer sugar again, caramelize that!
Look at the cooking mama version its exactly like what he is doing no wonder it burned... It was not held far from the brulee but directly. He was just following it.
This might sound pretty weird but thank you for uploading when you did. I was having a pretty intense nightmare and couldn't settle down when I woke up, but these videos are always so soothing and make me smile. Also creme brulee is just delicious and now I want some.
@RedNblue Apparently mine consist of home invasions with changelings stealing the kids in my orphanage. Not that I own an orphanage or have or want kids, but you know how nightmares go. I think if I got better than Mama, she wouldn't have the power to frighten me. But who's to say??
xXAngelsXx Relax. Who pissed on you? This is the internet. Not fucking Alcohol Anonymous. No one cares about your feelings because we’ll eventually forget about your sad story. And you have a fucking anime profile pic. Gacha is basically anime. So calm your tits. Deal with your problems somewhere else we just come here to watch a guy cook from a old game and read funny comments. And plus you can’t just assume a person on the internet’s age just because of a game they play. And why are you swearing at this "kid”.You really should apologize but you won’t because you’re obviously an asshole.
xXAngelsXx wtf is wrong with you. I use Gacha and anime as an escape from the world, but you know what? You don’t even know our ages. I know I’m well above 5 years of age, and I know damn well that I’m not a child. Grow up a little and stop attacking people on the internet. Kids, teens, and young adults can have depression as well, so how about you get out of Lala land and meet the world head on. Depression affects over 75% of teens worldwide, and it’s even higher in young adults (18-25). Stop assuming others’ ages and grow up a little yourself. Not everyone that has a Gacha profile pic, or makes Gacha videos, is a 7 year old child who has “fake depression”.
Ah, welcome back. I have actually had cream brulee for the first time a few months back. Can tell it's a frustrating dish to make, one of the hardest of desserts. I really admire your ability to do this, I wish I had a kitchen of my own like this. You know Mama gets hardcore with that blowtorch.
How'd you like it? I can't remember the last time I had it before this video, but I think I got it right. It didn't end up looking like scrambled eggs at least haha ...As soon as I saw the blowtorch I knew I had to film this
Hearing the soundtrack and sound effects from this game is very relaxing. I played the 1st game with my younger sister during a tough part of my life, and seeing it brings back memories.
I completely forgot about this channel but it popped up in my recommended and instantly remembered your videos. Nice to know these videos will be in my subscriptions from now on.
So the best kind of sugar to use for creme brûlée is sugar in the raw! Put a nice covering on it, and tap out the excess. It’ll give it a really nice crunchy caramelized top!!
Was watching this at night with headphones and when mama said "cooking mama!" I could feel my soul leave my body... it was as if she was standing right behind me... 10/10 crème brulee doe!
Creme Brulee tip from a pastry chef in training: After tourching your creme brulee, pour another layer of sugar and tourch it for a thicker layer of caramel. I do it whenever I make it!
I feel like Cooking Mama recipes remind me a bit of old, advanced recipe books that expect you to know certain techniques offhand. “What? You didn’t know your custards need a water bath? Then you deserve burnt custard, sir!” 😂 nonetheless, definitely loved this video. Feel like breaking out the ramekins and giving it a go.
looks damn good for your first try!!! i would recommend more sugar in a more even coating on top, and to hold the torch a little farther away. it'll take a little longer, but you'll get that nice thick layer of golden-brown as opposed to a sparse black patchy topping!! its delicious stuff.
Happy you uploaded again! You nailed this recipe and it turned out amazing for your first time. Yes of course it's a little bit burned but like I said it was the first time
I already tried some cooking mama recipes in real life that’s how I learned how to deep fry things and many of my everyday recipes are from video games and they are delicious.
*heart eyes* I love your videos!! I wouldn't mind commenting on a future recipe but honestly any video you make will always be great to watch! Keep up the amazing work!! -stranger from the internet
Need to spread the sugar a little more evenly for the Shell top. It also helps to get a more even shell by holding the ramekin in one hand at an angle and rotating it while you torch with the other hand.
I know you follow the steps exactly as the game, but something that also works for caramelizing the sugar y heating up the back of a spoon and using it to caramelize it without burning it^^
You should've held the kitchen torch farther from the creme brulee. I noticed that some parts of the sugar were completely black. You want an amber color
that said he pretty much does all of the recipes EXACTLY how it says in the game...
SSJR Dude This is fantastic advice! I'll keep it in mind in the future. Justin Koening is right, I try to stay faithful to the game... and sometimes I wing it if the instructions aren't clear. I totally agree for anyone else looking to make creme brulee though
Yeahhhh I was cringing for the whole toasting segment. It's supposed to be carmelized, not burnt.
Yup! Plus you gotta make sure your sugar is pretty even! You can do what the Bon Apetit kitchen did for their pumpkin pie- and that is layer sugar, caramelize, layer sugar again, caramelize that!

Not weird at all! Glad I could help :) (even if it was just a crazy coincidence)
@RedNblue Apparently mine consist of home invasions with changelings stealing the kids in my orphanage. Not that I own an orphanage or have or want kids, but you know how nightmares go.
I think if I got better than Mama, she wouldn't have the power to frighten me. But who's to say??
I should've seen this video this morning because I too woke up from a nightmare today and I was home alone and I was just having an anxiety attack
bright stars123 I love watching him, Chadtronic, Peanut Butter Gamer, and binging with Babish when Im having anxiety :3 I recommend them!!

Yes i liked my own comment
Lol
😂😂😂😂
ohhh that it says! I thought it said "Even with a mamama" 😅
When I was young thought she said Japanese
I like you you broke an egg so it's the same as the game, wasting an egg for accuracy, that's some dedication
I think you missed the part where it said: "Be careful not to burn it!"
Other than that I love these videos so much.
Whoops... definitely missed that part lol
At least it didn't completely wreck the taste
“Crème brulée” means “burnt cream” so i guess he did it right lol.
He sacrificed a perfectly good egg and made a mess to be acurate with the game. Now thats what i called commitment
Also......
R.I.P Egg
It's just chicken period
TheBunnygirl20 Yep, unfertilized eggs.
X
I’ve made creme brûlée before and it is actually kinda tough to make. You probably could have used more sugar on top to make a better less burnt crust
In retrospect, I think you're right. The parts with more sugar burned slower and would've made it tougher to burn
You would use fine sugar
I was distracted by the cat tail slipping behind you. 😂
She's a sneaky one
@@GameTim we get our fair share of cat tail photobombs with our two. It's always highly amusing 😂
@Detetiv400 scrolling through the comments, we are definitely not alone. :p
