Please keep going down this rabbit hole. Too many reactors don't follow through and too many only go after their bigger songs. I love your reactions. Not every song is for everyone but they are soo good.
i love his use of "kid". makes me feel like this is a message to the ones who suffer from their own mental battles, like "Hey, you aren't alone and no sense in giving in now."
It's interesting because Migraine is one of the few music videos of there's that is kinda harder to locate. Like, it actually had to be reuploaded on TH-cam by a fan. Neither the label nor the band uploaded it to their TH-cam channels under their own name, for whatever reason
The lyric “sometimes to stay alive you gotta kill your mind” is a huge lyric within the clique. One of the lyrics we hold dear to our hearts always and forever fr
Thank you so much for doing Migraine! This song means so much to me. I get awful migraines, and also suffer from the depression this song uses as a metaphor for. This song seriously changed my life
If you want to imagine the crowd with them watch “Holding on to you” or “Trees” or “Goner” all Live at Fox theater. I took my two oldest daughter to the final show of the Bandito tour in 2019. I wasn’t really a fan at that time but that show might be in the top 3 experiences of my 46 years of life. The crowd involvement and the way these guys make the crowd feel like part of the band was incredible. Tyler has whatever it is that Freddie Mercury had as a performer in front of people that makes TOP different
the journey thru twenty one pilots music is unlike any other. tyler is a pure genius lyrically and josh is god tier level on the drums. strap in for an emotional roller coaster my guys. |-/
Recommendation list in order to understand the growth of the band and meaning behind their lyrics (last albums are conceptual): 1st lane : Vessel album - Ode to sleep (music video) - Car radio (music video) - holding on to you (music video or live from Fox theater) - guns for hands (music video) - migraine (The live room version) - trees (live from fox theater ! - song with one of the biggest meaning for Tyler , he wrote it a looong time ago in high school ) 2nd line : blurryface album - stressed out (music video, huge song that made them so popular right now) - lane boy (music video) - ride (live from Fox theater) - hometown (lyrics video) - tear in my heart (music video) - the judge (lyrics video) - fairy local (music video) - message man (lyrics video) - goner (live from fox theatre , ending of the album) - Heavydirtysoul ( music video - this one is the connection to the next album, start of storyline) 3rd line : Trench album - jumpsuit ( music video , connected to hvdrtsl) - nico and the niners (music video, next one in saga) - levitate (music video, next one in saga) - chlorine (music video) - the hype (BOTH, album and Berlin session versions ) - my blood (music video) - pet cheetah (lyrics video) - morph (lyrics video, a bit of connection to storyline) - Heathens ( music video, spin off, not from any album but have a lot of small connections to story) - neon gravestones (lyrics video, influence to the story) - legend (lyrics video) - bandito (lyrics video, huge connection in storyline) - leave the city ( lyrics video, ending of era ) 4th line : Scaled and Icy album - Shy away (music video) - Choker (music video) - Saturday (music video) - Outside (music video) - No chances - Redecorate 5th line (extra) - TOP x Mutemath session - stripped down storyteller session by Tyler - MTV unplugged session - kitchen sink (live version) - fall away (feat dr. If you want to get a glimpse of how they are in concert you have to react to “Trees” Live at the Fox Theater (with speech). Guaranteed to blow you away. I think Tyler wrote it when he was a late teen and they end every concert with it.👍
12:48 Funny enough, Reggae is a pretty huge influence on their album "Blurryface" (which has Stressed Out, Ride, Lane Boy, The Judge, etc.), and is something that can even be found in their more recent works.
Went to their concert a couple weeks ago, they played one half of this song, and can confirm it was fun as hell. It was my third time seeing them and they put on the best concerts I've ever attended.

I'm so happy you're getting around for more tøp. I know it's a hassle with copyright and it must be pain for editing, so these videos are extra appreciated
I’m 45 and have seen countless shows including Pink Floyd 3 times. I’ve seen everything from country to hip hop to heaven metal. 21 pilots is the best show I’ve ever seen
I think the most impactful part of this song for me was the choice of ending, like you said it was unresolved but if you look at the words he was saying when he stopped: “Am I the only one I know Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat? This song is just so THAT good! Would love to see you guys do the "Heavydirtysoul" to "Jumpsuit" to "Nico and the niners" and lastly "Levitate" saga. And also "Trees" live
This song is so deeply relatable. It's perfect to listen to on those dark days cause it gets out those emotions while leaving you with the message that you're not alone and life can get better. Definitely one of my favorites
I haven't kept up with Twenty One Pilots now, but during high school I used to listen a lot. Their song Trapdoor still means so much to me. I listened to that song a lot when I was going through some dark times, and it's still such a relatable song for feeling depressed and feeling like you have a mask on everyday. Would love to see you guys react/listen to it!
This was one of the first songs of theirs I fell in love with, love how bouncy and fun it sounds while dealing with such a serious subject. My favourite lines from this song are 'Shadows will scream that I'm alone, but I know we made it this far' and 'I begin to assemble what weapons I can find cos sometimes to stay alive you gotta kill your mind', as a reminder that there's things that I can do to fight against anxiety, depression ect, that I'm not alone in what I'm feeling and that I can celebrate and be proud of making it through the crappy times in my life, even while it's still hard.
I've joined a lot of reaction channels to watch NF Journey. Yours is the first that I consume the other songs as well. Great show and chemistry between you two! Keep it up.
It literally made my day to see you guys had another TOP reaction up!! Migraine is and will always be one of my favourite songs - please do continue down the ToP journey!! I promise you will not regret it
Oh man y’all have to go to a concert! I’ve gone to one the last 2 tours and I will NEVER miss another one for the rest of my life! Such a memorable experience!
I've lived with chronic migraine since I was 2, 30 years now. This is the only song I know that captures the truth of migraine. I saw them in concert last month. They are nothing short of spectacular. And THEY PLAYED THIS SONG! Holy sh*t, gotta go to one of their concerts.
Tyler’s lyrics are so deep in every song. You guys definitely have to check more but I recommend you go in order by albums. Similar to NF they have their own journey but in this case they have created a whole world with lore and everything. It’s called Dema and with characters like Blurryface and the bishops of dema. Can’t wait for you guys to go further down the rabbit hole 😬
I love migraine especially live!! I heard it in Anaheim last month and it continues to push me to keep going. A lot of us really resonate with their lyrics and music. Thank you for the reaction!
I just saw them live for the first time in September and out of all the rock and metal concerts and festivals I’ve been to they are by far one of the best shows I’ve ever seen so high energy
21 Pilots is the first band to truly inspire me to my core. This band gets me emotionally invested into their music on a level I’ve never experienced, never heard n never felt before. This band is on a level above all other music now a days
Their song "My Blood" was released the year after my son was born and its been my song to him. I sing it to him still 14 years later in the car. It's amazing love them definitely have their own sound and I've always been here for it.
Why do I watch reactions? Coz I love seeing someone get what I got the first time I heard a song I love especially TØP. You guys are not disappointing me. I’m loving these reactions. Migraine is a must and I’m so glad you appreciated it. You can see from the lyrics why so many relate & get so much from this music. I must check I’ve seen all these reactions but o also can’t wait for you to check some of Tyler’s remixes of their songs ti see you blown away by how truly talented & unique his take on music is. As a side note coz you appreciate Joshs drumming - for a bit of fun- check out his drum off against himself that was performed in one of their tours.
I stopped watching reaction channels years ago - however I’m pumped I found you guys! My new favourite channel! I don’t have anyone to share music with, so it’s really nice seeing people enjoy my favourite band
They take influence from many bands. When I first heard them they reminded me of Christian rap/rock trio “DC Talk”. Later I found out that Tyler was a fan of that band when he was a kid. Tyler writes his songs with a specific message for him and words them in ways to be openly interpreted by everyone in their own way. I particularly gravitate to all of the biblical imagery and messages, while others gravitate toward the messages about depression and overcoming it etc.
I love this song! If you see them live, the crowd raps the entire song with Tyler. It’s pretty impressive. I recommend maybe Heavy Dirty Soul, Holding On To You, and/or Fairly Local official vids next. My favorite album is Trench but it’s a bit newer.
You've probably both heard Ride too - I would say to go back and react to the Stressed Out video after you get more familiar with them - it will shift what you currently think of the song
I know this was over a year ago but, In Greek mythology, Pandora's box was a gift from the gods to Pandora, the first woman on Earth. It contained all the evils of the world, which were released when Pandora opened the box.
I think migraine has some of the best writing of any Twenty One Pilots song. It might not be the craziest melody, but the flow of the lyrics is so good.
I am absolutely loving your reactions. TOP is supreme. Seeing them in concert was absolutely amazing. Best of my life. They are impossible to look away from, especially Tyler. 🤩😍 The more you hear from them, the more you love.
Thank you for reacting to this song. Twenty Øne Piløts is one of my favorites. Saw them a couple weeks ago. Their live shows are truly a concert experience. The energy that these two guys exhibit on stage is incredible. Such an awesome time. I have only seen them twice but, both times were completely different experiences. Both absolutely awesome. ✌🏻💕😊
Great reaction, guys! Tyler is a musical genius. Twenty One Pilots are tied as my favorite musicians with NF and The Gaslight Anthem. I can't wait for more. You guys rock!
Great reaction. Getting into TWP more myself too. I really like how experimental and different they sound compared to everyone else. And there's so much meaning to there songs.
I love these reactions, and I'm fairly certain that this song is about Tyler's religious trauma - "Pain will range from up down and sideways" are the motions made when you touch your head, chest, then shoulders to form a cross in church "Sundays are my suicide days" also church reference "It's me defending in suspense, it's me suspended in a defenseless test being tested by a ruthless examinant" I think this is a reference to the whole humans are sin and it's a 'defenseless test' because there never is a true right answer or way to be completely holy but are also suspended in the defense because you never know the results until you die and meet God for your judgement, so your whole life is the waiting period and one giant test - idk if he means god is the ruthless examiner or maybe his priest/congregation but he clearly had people judge a lot in terms of how he lives his life in accordance with the church "That's represented best by my depressing thoughts" this might be a stretch but I think the "sssss" is a reference to the snake in the Garden of Eden and also a play on how there tends to be a correlation between intellect and depression, as in the more knowledge gained and the more someone knows the more depressed they seem to get, the snake representing knowledge and his depressing thoughts "Full of tidal waves, suicidal crazed lions They're trying to eat me, blood running down their chin And I know that I can fight or I can let the lion win" in Christianity, particularly Genesis 49, lions are a symbol of kingship and taking possession of other kingdoms/land by force - absolute authority - as Christianity has done in the past e.g. crusades; I think he's talking about struggling between what he knows and whether or not he should allow the 'lion'/god/faith win and become an unquestionable absolute as some others have done, or if he should fight against it I think he says "sometimes death seems better than the migraine in my head" because the energy it takes to sort through and do this battle can be so taxing that sometimes the idea of not doing it anymore is appealing, but he follows it up with "but we've made it this far, kid" "The game is not played alone... And know that life has a hopeful undertone" I think as a way to say there's still hope, and it doesn't have to be this bad/there's happiness and a brighter future ahead. I also think he repeats it at the end of the song as a way to show that it's okay to have those bad feelings and it's okay to talk about them, but it's important to also do it with the idea that your life IS worth fighting for and it'll be okay Lastly, I think the amount of symbolism and metaphors used is also a vague reference to how much the Bible uses those things, and you can get entirely different meanings and interpretations depending on who you're talking to/which congregation you go to - it reminds me of when in Criminal Minds when Gideon says to a girl who asked him if he thinks God is vengeful says: "After Hurricane Katrina, I read some essays by religious scholars. One writer said God was punishing America for its immorality; New Orleans was a wicked city, like Sodom and Gomorrah. Another one, a priest from New Orleans, he thought the hurricane was proof of God's love, 'cause the levees didn't break until after the storm was over. If they'd broken sooner, thousands would've died. So... I guess the answer to your question depends on whether or not you think you have something to be punished for." Thanks for coming to my TED Talk lmao❣️
New fans of yours here... Love u both!! Huge TOP fans first, of course, and now, stumbled upon your greatness! We love watching your reactions. Please, please, please!! will u consider reaction videos to a couple other songs/videos of theirs... specifically "Guns for hands" And "Chlorine"? One's my favorite, the other is my fiance's fav. We check in every day to see if you've done either one! Lol. Keep up the great reaction videos, guys! Best we've seen!!!!! Love your brotherly vibes, love , sync and energy. Also, you'll be most fulfilled after u experience TOP LIVE... If u ever get the opportunity, you'll want to seize it! Totally worth it. They're changing people's lives, transforming them from the inside out, which is why they have the most loyal & dedicated fans. They've been to hell & back, & sing about their experiences & how they've grown from each one. And people tend to latch on to someone they can relate to on a personal level. They're both prodigy material. Nobody (in our opinion) even comes close to being the great artists they are! Keep up the great content, brothers! Btw, Eric, where are getting your bad-ass drink (glasses, pitchers, not sure what to call them)??
instant sub, loved this reaction. twenty one pilots is my favorite band and ive never been able to describe them until this video when i forget who but someone said something to the affect of looking at an abstract painting. also their concerts are AMAZING i went to my first one last month and had the time of my f'ing life edit: i went back and it was kyle talking about a different band also you guys should make a discord server it would be amazing
This was AWESOME!!! I was so excited when I saw y'all did this! I think my favorite from TOP is Trees... but love so many of them. I never even heard of TOP until 2020, like NF and Tom MacDonald. My son got me into NF and the rest is history.
I’m so excited for you both to go down the rabbit hole! There is a list, and someone will post it. Tyler has crafted a whole back story in a world called Dema that you will need to get into as well.
This so far is my favorite video. It’s what got me started checking out twenty one pilot’s to begin with ❤ the depressing thoughts is so cool the way he does that. Super creative as always
I initially thought Twenty Pilots was another teeny bopper feeling band before I actually started listening to them...boy was I wrong. They are one of the best artist's today. Watch their concerts, live sessions, videos. They'll play many of the same songs, but each rendition is different...in an amazing way. They appear to be so simple but it's completely opposite.
plese react to isle of flightless birds, holding onto you, addict with a pen, the judge, Kitchen Sink, neon gravestone, screen these are the ones I like where they rap
Why don't you have many more subscribers? You are super awesome and it's a lot of fun to watch you. It´s a feast every time. Keep it coming, Kyle and Eric!
"Oh, they're gonna try something a little different." 😂 Oh, that made my heart smile, foreshadowing at its best. Great reaction, 90% of their music will likely make your repeat play list. So the thing to do now is to react to Stressed Out since now you'll be able to hear it differently. And since you're music artistry lovers, I would recommend doing a side by side reaction to the official mv and to the recent mtv unplugged version. TOP is well skilled at switching up their sounds effortlessly. Actually - you'll SUPER appreciate the mtv unplugged version of Car Radio. You're in for a real treat!!!! Lovin' the journey, dudes! 💙🤍💙
Twenty one Pilots put on some of the greatest live shows ive ever been to. They have crazy energy and awesome shows. The put on better shows than most 4 or 5 person bands!!! A must if you like live shows...
Genre: depression you can DANCE too!!!
Yus
😂😂😂😂
Please keep going down this rabbit hole. Too many reactors don't follow through and too many only go after their bigger songs. I love your reactions. Not every song is for everyone but they are soo good.
I agree, but they need to start watching the Dema Lore in order. I just know they would get super into it.
Yes! This is one rabbit hole that’s so worth falling into head first!
Id suggest some of their unreleased songs from regional at best like Glowing Eyes or Lovely or Ruby
Honestly Tyler has to be one of the greatest lyricists, his word play and knowledge is just off the charts.
He is a lyrical miracle for sure!!!
There's also melanie martinez
@@k1ingg618 bahahaha
@@oliverdavies1319 jokes on you, they’re reacting to her right now and are even impressed with her lyricism
@@oliverdavies1319 This didn't age well, lmao. They're LOVING Melanie and her lyrics.
“Can’t imagine a crowd with this man”. Trust me. Best concert I’ve ever been too
Been to two of their concerts and I concur
two concerts here, and i can confirm. best night of my life.
i love his use of "kid". makes me feel like this is a message to the ones who suffer from their own mental battles, like "Hey, you aren't alone and no sense in giving in now."
It's interesting because Migraine is one of the few music videos of there's that is kinda harder to locate. Like, it actually had to be reuploaded on TH-cam by a fan. Neither the label nor the band uploaded it to their TH-cam channels under their own name, for whatever reason
Omg
I was so confused about how they found it!
It's my first time seeing it even, tho im a fan since 2018 💀
I just need y’all to go see a live show.
When they play this, the crowd sings the entire first verse. It’s NUTS.
I got such goosebumps when I was finally there to see it myself happen😄
To be fair the crowd sings ALL of the lyrics to ALL of the songs. 8^)
Imagine if someone said to you "hey listen to this pop rock song about dealing with depression and anxiety that is an absolute bop".
This song seriously changed my life
Same here!
My favorite track, because it describes my battle.

Their entire Trench album… is everything.
I prefer vessel and blurryface

This. This is the song that got me hooked on TØP. Thankful for my brother who introduced me to them all the way back in 2012

I love coming back to this reaction, also just because this is _THE MENTAL HEALTH_ song
one of my fave TOP tracks. man they just really always HIT
I feel like there on falling in reverse level of musical diversity they can do so many different genres and blend them rlly well
Eric, yes man. I CRAVE their sound and Tyler's voice too!

One of my favorites lyrically..can’t wait for more twenty one pilots! ❤
I have been a fan for so long and I still get the chills off this song. There is no bad song. There's just not! It's incredible.

Completely random comment but, the balloon tattoos on Eric's arm activates my trypophobia to an insane degree
I love migraine especially live!! I heard it in Anaheim last month and it continues to push me to keep going. A lot of us really resonate with their lyrics and music. Thank you for the reaction!
I love their vibe and finding the stuff that hadn't been as played out as their radio singles! 🤘🎶💜
Love the story about the coworker with the shirt. I'm 70 and have been wearing their merch every day for the last 6 years
9:56 y'alls head bops direction synced up
They put on the BEST live show! Hands down best live show I’ve ever been to!
Im so glad i found your channel... like you are really reacting to video, music AND lyrics... so well done!
So glad to see you guys doing more TOP. Please keep going with them. They have such a huge and great catalog.
so excited to watch as you discover their amazing discography
Neon Gravestones.... Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, and Levitate..... Heavy Dirty Soul... my requests, would love to see your reaction to those!
if you knuckleheads like the drums you'll love HeavyDirtySoul
I can't wait for the third album reactions
The depth of this band is outstanding, a must see live experience!
Right. I’m subscribing for more of the tøp journey. They will continue to impress, please carry on.
Can confirm, they're fucking amazing live.
Blurry face album was a masterpiece.,A perfect album not one bad song..twenty one pilots are legendary...
Love the messages they deliver through their songs!
this song made me their fan 😂 I hope to see them live
Please go. They are soooo gooood!
Man, you guys are awesome! When you can, react to Neon Gravestones or Addict With A Pen, please. You'll hit some fatalities with those songs.
You've probably both heard Ride too - I would say to go back and react to the Stressed Out video after you get more familiar with them - it will shift what you currently think of the song
They never disappoint
I know this was over a year ago but, In Greek mythology, Pandora's box was a gift from the gods to Pandora, the first woman on Earth. It contained all the evils of the world, which were released when Pandora opened the box.
I think migraine has some of the best writing of any Twenty One Pilots song. It might not be the craziest melody, but the flow of the lyrics is so good.
To hear migraine for the first time again… man
I am absolutely loving your reactions.
I love these reactions, and I'm fairly certain that this song is about Tyler's religious trauma -
"Pain will range from up down and sideways" are the motions made when you touch your head, chest, then shoulders to form a cross in church
"Sundays are my suicide days" also church reference
"It's me defending in suspense, it's me suspended in a defenseless test being tested by a ruthless examinant" I think this is a reference to the whole humans are sin and it's a 'defenseless test' because there never is a true right answer or way to be completely holy but are also suspended in the defense because you never know the results until you die and meet God for your judgement, so your whole life is the waiting period and one giant test - idk if he means god is the ruthless examiner or maybe his priest/congregation but he clearly had people judge a lot in terms of how he lives his life in accordance with the church
"That's represented best by my depressing thoughts" this might be a stretch but I think the "sssss" is a reference to the snake in the Garden of Eden and also a play on how there tends to be a correlation between intellect and depression, as in the more knowledge gained and the more someone knows the more depressed they seem to get, the snake representing knowledge and his depressing thoughts
"Full of tidal waves, suicidal crazed lions
They're trying to eat me, blood running down their chin
And I know that I can fight or I can let the lion win" in Christianity, particularly Genesis 49, lions are a symbol of kingship and taking possession of other kingdoms/land by force - absolute authority - as Christianity has done in the past e.g. crusades; I think he's talking about struggling between what he knows and whether or not he should allow the 'lion'/god/faith win and become an unquestionable absolute as some others have done, or if he should fight against it
I think he says "sometimes death seems better than the migraine in my head" because the energy it takes to sort through and do this battle can be so taxing that sometimes the idea of not doing it anymore is appealing, but he follows it up with
"but we've made it this far, kid"
"The game is not played alone... And know that life has a hopeful undertone" I think as a way to say there's still hope, and it doesn't have to be this bad/there's happiness and a brighter future ahead. I also think he repeats it at the end of the song as a way to show that it's okay to have those bad feelings and it's okay to talk about them, but it's important to also do it with the idea that your life IS worth fighting for and it'll be okay
Lastly, I think the amount of symbolism and metaphors used is also a vague reference to how much the Bible uses those things, and you can get entirely different meanings and interpretations depending on who you're talking to/which congregation you go to - it reminds me of when in Criminal Minds when Gideon says to a girl who asked him if he thinks God is vengeful says:
"After Hurricane Katrina, I read some essays by religious scholars. So... I guess the answer to your question depends on whether or not you think you have something to be punished for."
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk lmao❣️
I spent the whole video yelling “yes” agreeing with you and nodding my head in agreement lol
Btw, Eric, where are getting your bad-ass drink (glasses, pitchers, not sure what to call them)??
instant sub, loved this reaction. twenty one pilots is my favorite band and ive never been able to describe them until this video when i forget who but someone said something to the affect of looking at an abstract painting. also their concerts are AMAZING i went to my first one last month and had the time of my f'ing life
edit: i went back and it was kyle talking about a different band also you guys should make a discord server it would be amazing
Love TOP. They're incredible live! And you guys should still react to the Stressed Out music video! 😊
Definitely agree it is a great video 😊
This was AWESOME!!! I was so excited when I saw y'all did this! I think my favorite from TOP is Trees... but love so many of them. I never even heard of TOP until 2020, like NF and Tom MacDonald. My son got me into NF and the rest is history.
I’m so excited for you both to go down the rabbit hole! There is a list, and someone will post it. Tyler has crafted a whole back story in a world called Dema that you will need to get into as well.
Tyler Joseph is a poet
This so far is my favorite video. It’s what got me started checking out twenty one pilot’s to begin with ❤ the depressing thoughts is so cool the way he does that. Super creative as always
All of their music is like food for my soul.
I just went to their concert about a month ago and it was absolutely life changing
Ive rewatched this reaction video about 5 times now, and I’m sure next time the algorithm suggests it. I will play it again
one of my favorite songs of theirs! youve gotta listen to jumpsuit and levitate!
plese react to isle of flightless birds, holding onto you, addict with a pen, the judge, Kitchen Sink, neon gravestone, screen these are the ones I like where they rap
Why don't you have many more subscribers? You are super awesome and it's a lot of fun to watch you.
It´s a feast every time. Keep it coming, Kyle and Eric!
Can’t wait to see you guys at a TOP concert next year. You have nooooo idea.
I’m seriously hoping you’ll continue with TOP reactions!
so excited you're continuing twenty one pilots
this song…especially when everyone sings thsi in the crowd wow my concert anniversary is soon (on halloween)
I like how the quote unquote hip hop had sounds more like a metalhead than the quote unquote metal head lol
Twenty one Pilots put on some of the greatest live shows ive ever been to. They have crazy energy and awesome shows. The put on better shows than most 4 or 5 person bands!!! A must if you like live shows...
One of my favorites by them. It hits way to close to home for me.
