I SO love how your sweet little daughter keeps her mom and dad straight 💕. She has a brilliant mind...one can only imagine what her future holds 🤗
We used to grow Kohlrabi here above the Arctic Circle in the early 80s when I was your daughters age. We ate them with dried fish and seal oil.
💐Happy Birthday to Grandma this week🌻
MC & her 📸 ... 😊. Kids warm my heart.
I am learning do much watching your videos.Mary Carl is a walking book of knowledge.Love Brooke's recipes.
I know I've said this before, but I absolutely adore how you encourage and indulge MaryCarl's interests. She is going to grow up to be a very interesting and well rounded young lady!
Mary Carl is so lucky to be on this farm growing up I was also I have so many wonderful memories
This is a very SPECIAL Channel for the whole family....Every home in the world should watch this special channel.....For one thing it will put love in your heart for each other and peace of mind....The world need peace..Thank yu'all for it...!!
That is awesome!!! We are currently hatching eggs and everyone keeps saying “You need to watch MC! She knows everything about hatching eggs.” I’ve told them “That’s who I have learned from!” ❤️ Appreciate yalls family friendly videos.
I love Mary Carl, I hope to be watching her one day as she is teaching about wing families in college classes. WOW...
She is doing it even now♡
Mary Carl amazes me on how knowledgeable she is on her birds. She is so bright.
Weed ‘em and reaps turkey has hatched 2 Peacocks chicks before! They snuck the eggs in when she was broody. She was such a great mama!
Emu is her name. She has hatched several adopted chicks. 💕
@@MrsPink64 I know 😄. I’ve watched them since the pond was built 😄
@@moda78z Ditto!
@@MrsPink64 Emu was the male turkey. Kiwi is the female that has hatched her own eggs and brooded several other eggs, including peacocks. But, I can't remember her companion (female) turkey's name, just that it is a fruit... (Not to be confused with Karen, who is the Liege Fighter hen, that is also a good adoptive mother.)
@@melissajarvis4829 well, ofc! How can I forget that! Emu was given to Ethan (he wanted a real Emu😂) but he got a bit aggressive.
Thank you for the reminder ❤️
That turkey pulls at my heart strings. Such a sweet bird co parenting with the Muscovy 😂
The strange thing is I have never seen a calm and nice turkey until I watch these videos. I grew up in farm country and everyone I knew who had turkeys they were mean.
That is so exciting!
We rescued pheasant chicks 50 years ago.
We made a warm place for them in the hollowed out washer in the kitchen!
Dad used the washer to make his beer. Obviously he cleaned it!
Warm and fuzzy memories!
Mary Carl is such a smart young lady! She has her hobby down pat ! She’s very blessed to have you both as her parents! You are raising her up right, I’ve learned so much watching your videos. Thx for sharing.
Your animals are all so happy and content. If I was a chicken I would want to live on your farm. Love your videos.
Me too!
Just not a Cornish Cross
Around 1950 my Dad used to go to the garden, pick a kohlrabi, peel it with his pocket knife, and give us kids slices to eat. Good memories. Yes we survived the dirty knife and drinking out of the garden hose. lol
My grandma used to do the same thing! Sliced kolrabi is the best especially right in the garden! There's nothing like water from the garden hose! Good memories!
We did the same, and never got ill! Maybe more healthier then the cemical-veggies from the supermarket now a days!
My grandfather did this with me, but it was turnips!! I'd run in and grab the salt shaker. Grandpa had a little stool, he sat on and a bucket of water with his pocket knife. We would sit in the middle of the garden having a party. Fondest memory of my Grandfather Cox.
@@candacethompson2521 Candace, I thought I was the only one who liked raw turnips! LOL My great Uncle Terry would treat me to them. Yes, you have to have salt!
@@candacethompson2521 my husband use to eat beans , peas , beans and turnips and tomatoes in the garden , always have the salt shaker with him , and fresh onions, they hardly ever made the kitchen, and l forgot the radishes.
🤗🤗. Got my hot ginger and lemon tea ready just in Time this early morning for more adventures at Cog Hill Farms. I’d be out working the garden but have lost voice again from Santa winds and drastic temperature changes. Squeaking like a mouse and fever not make outside work comfortable AND now comes the much needed rain. Got a lot of rain for a week or so and Lord knows we need to end this drought. Wells are drying up and we as taxpayers have to help pay to seal them up. We take water seriously here and even cleaning buckets and troughs it’s dumped on trees especially. Not much in our water table so roots pop up looking for any moisture. Your area maybe swampy but at least the water flows. Know you be glad to have your newly leveled area begin to dry up so the REAL work can begin. Our area is similar to yours but higher and more Mediterranean. Hard freeze comes later mainly as a surprise and helps most fruit trees especially apple and pomegranate. Our broccoli loves the cold interplanted with cauliflower and spinach and herbs. If freeze last too long then we put a sheet over it loosely. Never had a problem even in large containers. All our carrots grown in huge tubs and thin out as we eat them with huge harvest of enormous long carrots in the Spring. Never enough of kohlrabi once we tried it and easy to store. Do you have a root cellar? We still have squash over a year now as we bury all roots in sand. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the grandma of the house and she’s eating a real good meal. Sometimes it’s best not to tell them what something new is and maybe not even then especially if they like it. A white lie okay to make them eat healthier. Can’t believe the surprise seeing a baby chick for the new year. Good mommas hard to find with a gentle nature. Exciting news you have for a “bag” garden to help feed others in need or just want something more fresh and different. We all need to help as many as we can as with this virus. We need to find a way to clone MC so she can spread her knowledge and share her huge heart with the rest of the world. Her love of flowers needs to be all over the place so she can continue to take pictures and even dry and press them. I make large framed pictures just using the flowers. Sprinkle a little sand in containers to really keep them good and dried. Some of mine are 40 years old and have precious memories. Well I probably have written way too much but when ya feel comfortable it’s easy cuz all the memories locked away pops up just cuz your video. Loved everything about the video and seeing a little sun ☀️. Just like Peaches it’s time to start on the tan. Hope Nugget very careful zooming on the new plowed area. Could sprain or break a leg real easy. Perfect sign for the #2 sheriff and the most adorable young lady you’re lucky to call daughter. until the next time “y’all be good”❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
MC needs to put her pictures in a calendar, I'd buy it!!!
That is a great idea!
I love this family and there animals.. I could watch this family all day.. There daughter is so smart, I can't get over how smart she is .. You guys are doing an awesome job..
Jason, you guys make such fun and entertaining videos. I'm inspired to get some emu because of your channel. Nugget is a character. Peaches is a character. MC is growing up so knowledgable about the birds..amazing to watch. So awesome to see that turkey sitting on the eggs and then that duck just waddles over and helps sit on the ones the turkey couldn't cover. My ducks and chickens are quite comical too...looking forward to this spring to get started on my custom ultimate chicken coop. I just got my seeds and peaches and cream corn seeds are part of it, it's such a flavourful corn. See you on the next one guys. Cheers, Chad
Excited just ordered my Tee Shirt. Love your channel. Mary Carl is precious! Love your farm! Nugget is a hoot!
Your daughter is a heaven sent angel. Kudos to good family upbringing!
Hey! Marycarl should make some nice pics of the chickens, goats, etc. and print them out to sell to the people who are big into the farmhouse look! She can print out multiples of the best ones. She will get rich quick :)
Y’all are just an inspiration of such a wholesome lifestyle & nice way to raise ur child 👶. 🙏🏻❤️

Your family is so much fun to watch and listen to. You guys really do enjoy being with each other and all of your animals. That is so wonderful to see.
Love the broody duck!!! lol Love seeds.
Tell MC that I'm 35 and I buy all the exotic cool looking veggies and fruits. Dont matter if they taste good or not, I just like growing cool looking stuff!
I was raised on a farm & I loved it. I used to paint some of my favorite chickens nails with nail polish. Lol 😂
Yours is the sweetest show on TH-cam. I just love seeing what y'all are up to.
I know you have been having a hard time with germination. I've had a lot of experience with organic gardening and had a great way to speed up germination. I would take a square of paper towel wet it with warm water, spread you seeds, cover them with the other half of the paper towel and slide it into a plastic bag. Put it in a warm place and check it daily. As soon as you see the little root poking out transfer it to your pots and cover it lightly. Be sure to have your soil wet. Good luck and I hope this works as well for you as it always did for me. I love your channel and all your special animals especially nugget. I live in Alabaster Alabama and would love to meet you and see your farm.
Hopefully the hatching eggs will bring back the joy lost from the other eggs that didn't hatch for MC. I sure hope so! May God bless y'all real good!
Turkey's are awesome mommas. They will hatch and raise ducks, chickens, geese, anything.
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤ 🎀 ❤ 🎀

Miss Turkey is trying her best to get all of those eggs under her. To cute.
I have never seen a turkey and a duck nest together as your two did.

Amazing 2 different species setting on eggs next to each other! Wow!
The couple at Living Traditions grew Peaches & Cream corn last year, and loved it!
Such a sweet child, you both must be so happy to have a wonderful family
Very funny, duck and turkey incubate the same eggs together, I had never seen that, great job you do there
And raise... chickens!?!🐥
@@melissajarvis4829 He yes I forgot the chickens
I Love Your Channel, With All Your Precious Animals❤️ And Beautiful Family ❤️
My turkey Lucy goes broody all summer. She puts together clutches of her own eggs and tries to sit on them out in the weeds overnight. These last few summers some of my favorite memories are going out by flashlight getting Lucy in while the fireflies come out. Congrats on the chick! And thanks for the cheerful content.
I am so greatful for the chance to get to know your family and watch your adventures! I look forward to seeing Mary Carl's pictures and your garden!
How did a silkie egg get over here?!! Brilliant😂🤣😂. Another great one guys👍. Stay safe
You need to record the alarm system so I can make it my alarm.

Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe.
May God continue to bless you and your family.
i love how everyone inhaled surprise when they moved the PIT & found the chick! Reminded me of the sound my daughter used to make when she first discovered the neighbor's Christmas lights.
Happy birthday to brooks mom and great vlog
God bless you he bless you and that wonderful daughter
Those signs look great, what a wonderful idea!
I've preserved corn two ways: the whole cob and then cut off, blanched, and frozen on wax paper on baking sheets. Then once frozen, I placed the frozen kernels in freezer bags. I will tell you, I'll never freeze the whole cob again. 1) they take up a lot of room in the freezer 2) the kernels were rubbery to me (I did not blanch the cobs before freezing) 3) I had to use the entire cob 4) They need to be thawed if you are going to cut off the kernels. With the individual frozen kernels in the bag, I pour out whatever amount I want and then return the bag to the freezer. I preferred the texture of the individual kernels and I did not have to thaw them. Yes, it is more work up front, but to me the whole cob was more work in the end. Just some thoughts.
Good morning.
Yay for the turkey! The veggies are going to be good. 👍 Stay warm and God bless you all. 👍🙏☝️
Great video never a dull moment 😊.
That is a great idea for the garden bags. Before we started a garden we would get local produce, place an order and get what was available. It was a surprise every time and we liked it. The pick up times were not so great. Had a hard time making it if there was heavy traffic after work, even missed a few pick ups. Please remember those that don't work close to home, if you can.
yall are part of my inspiration. i am so fortunate to have an agriculture class, my teacher says i have a great plan, i want to intern at a farm and soon own my own in the coming future
MaryCarl is getting so tall! Happy late birthday to your Mom too. I am excited to see your garden this year. I know I need to order some more seed, but I'm just not sure what else I want to grow. 🤣
Have eaten those most of my life, we use to boil them till tender then drain them put them in butter and mix with pasta, salt and pepper to taste. You may like this style to eat it also.
Hi hope you are doing good today.God bless you and your family today and always. I just love watching you all.Mary Carl is so smart .Happy for your new baby turkeys.
The peaches and cream corn is really sweet and delicious . I live about 60 miles from ya'll in Montgomery and just discovered Cog Hill and am subscribed and am following.
Lord God bless you all, enjoyed watching
She’s such a good turkey mama ❤️
Tomatillos are awesome! We use them to make a hot salsa for our Mexican food. Boil tomatillos with garlic, Serrano peppers, salt and pepper, and put it in a blender for a green salsa. Or a red hot salsa with tomatillos, dry harbol chili peppers ( AKA Japanese pepper), garlic, salt and pepper.
We just made our starting pepper seeds video last night! Getting a head start indoors =]
That’s awesome
Morning coffee and a Coghill Video, how could it get any better!
1-26-21,hey Jason you got your surprise with the little chick 🐤, and we got a big snow ❄ storm first one of the new year in Chicago, good luck with the baby chick 🐤.
Mary Carl is excited about her flowers👍👍
Signs are great..
Have a good day ❄❄❄
What you have is a churkendoose ( chicken, turkey, duck and goose). If you check on TH-cam, you can find "The Churkendoose Song" by Ray Bolger. I am 77 years old and it is the first song that I remember learning as a little one. It looks like you might end up having a flock of Churkendeese.
Love watching your videos. Makes a person feel right at home. Peace and love from Ohio.
This just appeared in my TH-cam feed. At first I was confused. It was the smaller farm, Brooke had longer hair, MaryCarl was much younger ..... I thought it was a time-warp via Jason. Then I noticed it was posted 3 years ago. Sweet, fun memories!
