If you are ever in a bind with not having enough hay, you can give the goats Triple Crown Safe Starch Forage. We are a dairy goat farm and creamery with nearly 40 head and we give all the goats forage daily along with their second-cut hay. Don't be alarmed by the fact that the forage is sold as a horse product, as it is perfectly fine for goats.
I love that you named your Polish rooster Rod Stewart -- that is the most perfect name for a golden feathered Polish. You guys come up with great names for your animals. Also, you are such a well-oiled fowl management team.
I am amazed at your farm I refer to it as the “fairytale farm” because it is just beautiful, the bottle trees, the flags, the flower planters, the license plates, the structures and of course the “characters” like peaches and nugget. It’s a little animal town. And last but definitely not least is Mary Carl with her unbelievable knowledge of chickens and ducks. A beautiful family with a beautiful life. 😘 PS Love your accents too
Maybe it's a Southern thing. No, that can't be right; my hubby's from PA. We talk to all if our animals, too. I firmly believe they understand much more than we think.
I am so blessed. I have a hay farmer near here and when I get to the last bale I text him and usually the next morning he delivers 12 bales and loads them into my horse trailer. I also have goats but in my older years I now have 4 - 2 expecting kids soon a dry one and a lovely buck. He holds enough back from public sales for me and another small family. Again I am so blessed.
I would like you all to know that I so adore watching your videos and your farm including all the animals! I so enjoy the intelligence of Mary Carl and all her birds! Shis is so well spoken and so knowledgeable. I see you are collecting old license plates! Can't wait to see the new ducklings you are going to get in the next few months. It amazes me how many different colored eggs you get. Till your next video.....stay safe and well.....Love from NJ
We kept a small Christmas tree up with Snoopy ornaments all year.(Wife worked for MetLife for 42 years). Before she passed I told her I would always have our main tree and the Snoopy up years round! Married 34 years will always keep my promise to Her!
Just wanted to say that you are my favorite Homestead channel and I wanted to share my Muscovy story...Back around 1968-69 when I was about 7 years old, we had a Muscovy we’d raised from a baby. She looked just like yours setting with the turkeys. We named her Waddles, and she was quite a character. One day Waddles disappeared. Our dog Bozo ‘playing Lassie’ showed us where she was setting on a nest of unfertilized eggs in an oleander bush. Mom felt sorry for her so dad was sent to get fresh duck eggs from the friend who’d given us Waddles. He didn’t have any duck eggs on hand, so dad brought home fresh chicken eggs to replace the ones she had in her nest. She stepped on some, some rolled out of the nest and some just didn’t hatch, but she did manage to hatch out one baby chick. It was so funny watching her ‘waddle’ around the yard with her baby following along behind her. We did have to keep a close eye on them though. We’d made an area Waddles could swim in and she was bound and determined her baby was going to learn how to swim.
My best friend leaves her tree up year round with neutral white lights and switches out ornaments and decorations. She makes hearts for Valentines, shamrocks, and Easter Eggs. For July 4th, she just puts red, white and blue ribbons/bows on the tree. It always looks great.
Can you imagine Nugget in the truck? So glad you were able to get hay. The does are very sweet, the bucks most handsome. I adore Polish chickens. Their hairdos are wild. The silkies are lovely. Your garden is coming along nicely. I’ve only had kohlrabi cooked with butter, salt, and pepper. The cole slaw looked delicious. Be well! 🦃🐓🦆
Watching this Nov 30 2022, Mary Karl is so YOUNG! TH-cam says this was posted a year ago, but it was posted long before that. You've been at the 40 since October of 2021.
You guys should definitely be sponsored by Kubota! Especially because Brooke aka Mrs.Cog is awesome with it💪😃 Kubota if your listening or reading, Cog Hill Farm is so positive and sharing great things with our Farm and Homestead communities!
We still have our Christmas tree up, too! Last year (woo whee) I moved in with my precious family. My daughter, son-in-law, and their loving full on country teenagers (the best grandkids ever) and I are in no hurry to take it down. Our tastes are simple and our needs are few. Words spoken in front of your fireplace during a hurricane video sums our family up well ... "... No power, no problem". Peace and blessings to all y'all this new year.
I love how smart MaryCarl is about chickens and fowl in general. With her love of these birds, do you ever process any for your consumption/freezer camp? Have a blessed day, stay safe and healthy 🙏🥰👍👌🙏🦅🔔🗽🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
If it burns diesel it's going to get dirt in it it's just the mystery of the dirty like you said. Y'all's places beautiful. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Sure do love your farm. Nugget is such a character. Every farm should have a Nugget. I get that same phone call 2 times a day. So annoying. I wish I could have a winter garden. To cold and snowy here in Iowa. Have a great day.
Hello I’m from the UK and love watching what you have been doing with the farm.. my question is, how do you survive, do you sell your birds, by the way I love Nugget what a fantastic pet. Just to wish you all the best from an avid follower
I just love the "tiny chickens" like Belle, will you be making a enclosed yard for them to be able to get out in? Kind of like what the Silkies have? I just love your whole farm. There is so much sweet love there. Thank you for that. I grew up on a 80 acre farm and I miss it so much.
I would get two round bales if your trailer is big enough. Just cover with a tarp. You may want to build something to keep them off the ground and covered. Enjoy your show.
Jason you keep me on my toes you keep coming up with vegetables I have never heard of you have me running to the shop to see if they have seeds finally found you a number plate will post soon ❤️🇦🇺 Kim
You guys will be real farmers when you call what you drag in the house dirt and what is outside soil. I always tell the people who get hay from us to always get extra because of weather and other stuff that can happen. We raise hay and one year it rained so much we could not put the cattle out on pasture with out damaging the fields, we had to buy hay and our cattle didn't like it, it was crap hay, but all we could get!!! We now keep more hay and can always sell what we don't need in the spring.
Check your local Craigs list its always a go to. We have round bales we could sale. But we live in Tennessee just above you.. We feed horses with it. If you have a place to put it out of the weather you should buy for the year spring cuts the best if put up.

I love to see Mr. Nugget run and then all the eggs you collect the different chickens you got is amazing to see all blessing always from fort worth tx violet medrano.
WOW those duck eggs were hidden!!! Thanks for all the entertaining videos. Maybe you should remove the tank and then add the cleaner? It’s pretty important what goes in there, right?
