What about numbering the eggs and when/if she lays her third egg…… remove the first so that there are only ever 2 eggs in the nest. Goldie will see eggs but YOU will not be inundated with Emu eggs. I see in the comments, a suggestion of a port’a hut for protection, maybe a good idea for Goldie. I’ve been watching the YT Channel’UselessFarm’ Karen the Emu is laying eggs in their small barn…… I’m not sure but I think the eggs are removed one by one……. Not 100% sure so I’ll check. It’s a problem but I think removing the egg one at a time cd help Goldie. But….. heck, I’m no Emu, egg production expert!!!! I’m just a big lover of Cog Hill Farm and all it comins and goins❤️❤️.
I'd say, don't interfere with nature. Last time Nugget proved he would eat and drink when necessary. Emus have done this since time began. He's in a fenced area and protected against predators. As long as he eats and drinks on occasion he will be fine.

Well.... PERHAPS the previous owner REALIZED Snow IS an albino, and that she is STERILE. Cog Hill Farm, has not only their HEARTS but FARM for so many animals to have a WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!
I agree. And the thing is, Goldie will lay every year. At some point there are just too many. And it gets harder and harder to find good homes. It's fun to have new babies but they're only babies a short while. And then you end up with several females laying eggs. It's a slippery slope.

Perhaps you could put up a camera so that you can keep an eye on Nugget. I don't know, but I reckon it's as natural to sit on the eggs as it is too lay them. I worry about Nugget missing out
Good morning!! If you take one or some of Goldie's eggs before she finishes her cycle of laying, then she will go start another nest. Once she gets several eggs in there, after two weeks or so, you could start taking out one a day leaving her fewer and fewer. Then you can clean the nest at the end before Nugget gets there.

Emu lay eggs very different from chickens. They set on their legs & as soon as the egg is coming out, they raise their body straight up with head in the air & tail on the ground, still setting on their legs. This way, they place the egg exactly where they want it. Strange to see. But awesome that they place it where they want it. Good luck with whatever your decision is on whether you want to hatch or not. 😊

If you lived in a super cold environment like KY or someplace that has freezing rain n snow storms I would not let Nugget sit , but in Alabama with your temperatures I’d let them naturally do there thing. But I’m also not a emu expert I’m just a country adjacent farm girl with a ton of livestock as pets ❤️

People from Australia say emus lay their eggs during their winter months over there! Emu eggs don't incubate like chicken eggs....they have to be weighed and turned often as I have read!😊❤ Have you witnessed any mating going on at all?

I think Brooke has said in the past they don't breed anything to sell. They rehome - if necessary-
