SESAME TOFU • Tofu Has Never Been This Delicious and Crispy • Vegan Recipes

  • One of the most delicious dishes made with tofu is SESAME TOFU. If you don't like tofu, this recipe might change your mind. With a touch of cornstarch, the tofu will be crispy and very enjoyable to eat. It's also very easy to do. This recipe is a vegan version of sesame chicken, which you can find in many Chinese restaurants in America and cannot find in China. The trick for consistency is to put the hard tofu in a lint-free fabric that can absorb water, such as a thick cheesecloth, and wait for half an hour by weight on it and get as much water out of it as possible. I used to use paper towels to do this, but since it is a waste-free method, I switched to cheesecloth. There are also kitchen tools made for this process, but since I don't have it, I handle it this way. The brand of tofu I use is Veggy.
Because I like the taste of sesame tofu better, I serve it on top of rice with basmati rice, but you can serve it with broccoli, asparagus or an eggless noodle. You can even try using different sauces after cooking tofu with this method. I would be very happy if you share your different sauce suggestions in the comments. So I discover new tastes thanks to you 😊

    PORTION: 2-3 people
    DURATION: 1 hour
    ------------ 🌱-------------
    INGREDIENTS
    • 300 gr tofu
    • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
    • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (30 ml)
    For sauce
    • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (30 ml)
    • 4 tablespoons of water (60 ml)
    • 1 tablespoon of mulberry molasses (15 ml)
    • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar (15 ml)
    • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (15 ml)
    • 1/4 teaspoon of powdered ginger
    • 4 cloves of garlic (4 g) (The garlic I had was very small. You can use 2 cloves.)
    • 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch
    • 3 tablespoons of water (45 ml)
    • 2 pinches of sesame
    for decoration
    • Fresh onion
    • 1 tablespoon of sesame
    ------------ 🌱-------------
    • Put the tofu between a thick cheesecloth or cloth to absorb its water and leave it on it for 30 minutes.
    • Cut into cubes and put in a large bowl.
    • Add olive oil, salt, ground red pepper and corn starch on top. Gently mix until the material covers all the tofu and being careful not to break up the tofu.
    • Wait until your pan heats up and put the tofu in the pan without oil so that they all touch the bottom.
    • Fry the tofu on medium heat by turning it one by one with tongs as it thickens on all 4 sides. This process takes some patience. After browning on all sides, reduce the heat and cook for another 10 minutes, turning it occasionally. You don't need to turn them one by one in this 10-minute cooking.
    • Put soy sauce, mulberry molasses, white vinegar, olive oil, ground ginger and crushed garlic in a small saucepan.
    • Put starch and water in a small bowl. With the help of a fork, dissolve the starch in balls.
    • Add to the soy sauce mixture and mix with a whisk.
    • Put it on the stove and wait for the consistency to increase by constantly stirring over medium heat. The consistency increases in 5-10 minutes.
    • Mix for 1 more minute by lowering the bottom and add 2 pinches of sesame seeds on top and mix. Mix with sesame seeds for 1 minute.
    • Add the sauce to the tofu and mix.
    • Top the rice and garnish with sesame and spring onions.
    Enjoy your meal.

    Tofuyu presslemesek olur mu

    • @vegthings
      @vegthings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Bu tarifi hiç presslemeden yapmadım ama tofunun daha sıkı, kaplamasının daha iyi bir kıvamda olabilmesi ve sonradan koyduğunuz sosu çekebilmesi için pressleseniz daha iyi olur.
