seiko quintessential is the turtle, (or maybe skx, it's more popular brother). turtle is perhaps the ultimate tool watch, cheap, great movement. fits on any wrist. it's different enough from a submariner and the submariners many clones, with a classic and unique case design. some interesting kanji and roman numeral date wheels, and color designs. turtle is an absolute S for me.

Great video !😂😂. I loved the Rolex bit.. but my own experience is they should be a D simply because you cannot buy one when you walk into an AD. I experienced that here in Singapore and when I was in Barcelona. I walked across to the Omega AD and got a wonderful Omega Speedy 57 for my son's wedding. For giving me the watch I chose, and with such variety and quality of design and build, Omega should be an easy A.
It depends on your purchase history. 2 of my indonesian friends gets rolex so easily from THG in singapore.
@picanha694 I have no doubt that if you bought several watches you were not intending to acquire from them first, you can then get a chance for a Rolex from THG, if you have a bottomless pit of money to draw from. However how do you explain such behavior from a Rolex only shop? What do you buy first to attain a purchase history with them? Anyway they shoot themselves in the foot, I've lost interest in Rolex.
@@hill1652which is the same as with A Lange & Sohne, AP, Patek and Omega with the snoopy. You can obviously buy other models that are aren’t so hot from all these brands.

Great video. Interesting debate. I agree with - almost - all your choices, including the more controversial choices of Richard Mille (D), way too pricey/don't get it - I agree with you, and Tudor (C) I know lots of people love them but i find them dull/unoriginal - I agree with you. My only (subjective) dis-agreements and challenges are 1/ Nomos should be B, not A. Not enough of a diverse range to be above Longines...or Oris for that matter. Maybe Nomos at A is brand familiarity bias?! (i loved your video ad with them), 2/ Zenith at A. Should be B. Notwithstanding their movements, not enough of a diverse range to warrant being above AP that is truly iconic, and 3/ Casio should be B not A. They're now just dishing out variations on an existing theme (different colour, etc) rather than anything game-changing. You could argue Grand Seiko have been more innovative in 2022. Lastly - real shame to miss out Vacheron Constantin in particular given the Overseas (and 222). Would have been interested to learn your perspectives on Breguet, Cartier, Panerai, and Piaget too. Look forward to Pt2 given the cliff-hanger ending 🙂

I think a list like this is most interesting when it is purely subjective, meaning ranking the brand only based on your personal preference (would you buy it) and disregarding anything about the market or other people's thoughts.

Sorry guys, but when I see your lack of appreciation for Seiko, I'm floored. You praise all these other brands that are boring and look like every other brand, and then overlook Seiko which has some of the best looking dials. Hell, the negroni or one of the iconic dive watches that REAL divers buy such as the turtle and samurai should have elevated this list.
@@doperdr not at all…. Just amazed when I see Swiss Aficionados almost completely disregard Japanese brands when they make such amazing watches. People will praise an IWC pilot watch (yawn) while completely ignoring other very interesting brands/designs.

“You are what you do”. On the bottom of all your videos, your banner names three brands out of the many you sell: Rolex, Omega and Tudor. Those three occupy that “downtown Tokyo real estate”. Those are in your “A” list at least by insinuation. Asides: all Nomos watches look alike. They remind me of Bachman-Turner Overdrive music - same four chords, brand new song. Grand Seiko will always be dragged down by having your “D” tier Seiko on the dial. Unfair perhaps, but Seiko made the choice to do that. Plus, they further commingle by putting spring drive movements in high end Seiko watches…? Love the fade to black at the end!
Navitimer 41 has to be worth alone a B for Breitling given the aesthetics, the movement and the price, beside they have in catalogue one of the most accurate quartz in luxury watch brands with the Endurance pro, that's a bit pricey to be a quartz and it's definitely out there with the design, but it has a superquartz movement with +/-0.07 secs per day
Christians method of rating made a lot more sense than Michaels. It shouldn’t be whether you like them or not, but how interesting and innovative a brand is and their quality.

great video but i wish you didn't get rid of the S tier!! imo that's for like "this is my favorite and it may be a semi-irrational choice but i love it." then you could have put your A tier stuff in S and broken up the B tier more. also just a suggestion but it would be great if y'all do a tier list video again to have both of you do your own separate tier lists and talk through your choices since you have differing opinions. plus that's a super easy way to be like "who's tier list is better? let us know in the comments" and get that audience engagement lol
More watch brands (Cartier, Glashütte Original, A. Lange und Söhne...) and less talking would have been good. But though a good ranking in my oppinion. :)

As always guys, great video. Even though I disagree on some accounts. But Christian, handle the Seiko spb 143 and see how you feel about Seiko….. for the money it can’t be beat. And the Rolex ending was gold. Suspecting that’s Michaels suggestion. Keep on making great videos. It’s all about your dynamic.

I struggle with these “brand comparison” videos…too many “apples and oranges” comparisons to make it useful to watch fans. For example, Breitling caters to sport watches for guys with big wrists. Cartier great for small wrists who want dress watches. Budgets also drive watch interests. If I am under $5k, Oris/Seiko are great options. For someone with a budget of $50k for a watch, Oris/Seiko wouldn’t realistically be a consideration in most cases. Some are into vintage while others want watches made in last 10 years. Try making a series of videos where you wear different hats and then rank based on different criteria. Those would be videos I would love to see.
I watch Theo and Harris for the Christian content tbh. He gets a lot of hate, but he has great takes, and knows his way around a good drink and a good watch. My kind of guy.

I haave a big wrist so Nomos seemed out of reach cuz they make small cases. Then I saw the Club Sport Neomatik in 42mm. Beautiful watch. Im seriously considering the purchase.

However, I have several bones to pick with this video. So, please take or leave my comments as you see fit. 1. There are a lot of watch tier list videos, but as far as I know, none rank these brands and their products from a vintage perspective. Since you are specialists in this area, I think this would be the most exciting and valuable tier list you could make. Would you consider making another video where you would rank the brands from a vintage perspective? I would love to see that. 2. There are soooo many good brands left off this list! Cartier, Vacheron, A. Lange & Söhne, and all the great independent watch brands? For Cartier alone, I could rattle off a list of reasons why they should be on the list: Cartier outperformed many other watch brands last year, they arguably made the first sports watch and pilot's watch ever, numerous prominent figures wear their watches, they are Christian's favorite watch brand. So, could you add more brands for the second part of this video? Keep up the good work guys. Love your videos.

Michael will come around to Moser. Ranking them that low is more about lack of experience with watches (not a negative comment). After being into larger brands, Zenith included, along with the normal few Rolex, etc. Most consistent collectors over the decades start to appreciate watches like the Mosers, Bovets, and other random niche brands more. There's no empirical proof of this, but my guess is that most people that like hype brands have been in the hobby for less than 20 years.
You bust Tag down for only doing reissue. then big up the Casio calculator which is a re-edition? Nomos is clearly a winner - and also a client? 😂😂 Love the channel, regardless.
You can place brands to the left and right of a tier too. So say you think Tag is better than Richard, it goes to the left of the Richard, etc. you get really complex and more detailed tier lists

I agree with Michael about Moser. I feel that their designs get a pass because of all of the hype that they received. If you saw the same design in another, cheaper, watch brand, it would not get the same pass that Moser gets. Just my opinion obviously.
