Kate's response to the kids looking Asian lives rent free in my head! I don't know why but I never forgot she said she pictured "little China doll babies".
8:35 the looks from Jon and Kate here is so cute. The look they have is just pure love I haven’t seen this episode so I’m not sure what happened before and after but the look in their eyes in this moment is very sweet
I have always wondered what their marriage was like before she show! If they actually loved each other and having 6 babies and 2 more kids plus being somewhat famous destroyed them
@@mose1095 Yeah but Kate always criticized him so it didn't matter, even before the show, he criticized her that she didn't have blonde hair because she was a brunette and he "only likes blondes".
@@emmaaxenchuk3882 They more than likely got up at around the 2 or even 1 hour mark but she got them up at the 4 hour mark so that she could have peace. She literally let Alexis sit in her own poop for 4 hours. It's disgusting. Plus, she never got up before 8AM so, her babies were literally screaming(you can clearly hear the babies when Jon is making Kate's coffee) for an hour and she got up when she felt like it. If I had sextuplets and twins, I'm getting up when they get up. There's no sleeping in until 8AM at all. I don't care how tired I am and if you're really that tired, even though you work every other Saturday from a 16 hour shift, you need to go to bed as soon as your kids are in bed and sleep that way, don't worry about the dishes or whatever else.
They probably woke up after 1 or 2 hours and if they got up earlier before Kate got them, they got spanked for being up. I'm convinced that if Kate heard the babies after answering the phone and throwing away garbage or doing laundry, she'd spank them and then come get them up at 4.
13:06 “I cant even imagine if he tried to talk about her that way” you don’t have to its right here 6:08. I always got the sense Kate was bringing up his weight in a petty way and i now firmly believe Jon used to talk about her body the way she started to talk about his specifically when she was pregnant with the six kids.
Your commitment to this series is amazing and I’ve really enjoyed it. Plus you’re really easy to listen to, like just very calming which for a hella anxious person with ptsd that always nice to find. Thanks for not being a Kate and screaming at us across the internet like it’s a toys r us 😅🙃

13:48 my ex’s mom was the exact same with movies! She would pick a movie that she really wanted to watch but she’d fall asleep within like 10 minutes 😂
Jon and kate were filmed before this. It was when they come home with sextuplits. Some company had come in and renovated parts of the house. The film crew wanted to see Kate's reactions when she first saw it. Which meant she was doing this insteed of bringing the sextuplits in. I just discovered this channel, binged all the Jon and Kate Plus 8 videos, and am ecstatic to binge the rest of your channel!! You have so many good playlists to jump into
Also, in the documentary clips, Kate is once again very unrealistic with how babies nap. There is NO WAY that six babies would nap from 12PM to 4PM without waking up. I'm convinced that Kate literally would go upstairs if she was up there cleaning or whatever, go into the nursery and spank the babies if they were awake before the time that she would get them or have them cry and scream. So, her reaction to Alexis's poop explosion was stupid because why would you not get your baby if they pooped? They would be crying but you wouldn't hear it because you're downstairs answering the phone and throwing away garbage? That doesn't take until 4PM every single day. If I was Kate, I wouldn't be without a baby monitor in my hand and checking if my babies were crying and I'd drop everything to get my baby changed and back for their nap. If it was a little earlier that they woke up, who cares? Also, I don't care if they take a 2 hour nap or even 1 hour. If the babies were all crying, it's obvious they didn't need that long of a nap, at least from what I saw on the show and from what I know about babies. Also, she literally didn't even get her own babies out of their cribs when they were screaming at 7AM because she's "too tired" to get up before 8AM. In the clip, you literally hear one of the babies screaming when Jon is heading off to work so, she literally was ignoring her own babies because she couldn't get up before 8AM. If I heard one of my babies screaming, no matter what time it is, I'm getting out of bed, even without coffee and taking care of my kids. Also, there is a way to spend 1 and 1 time with all of your kids, no matter how many you have. Yes, it's difficult but it can be done.
I’m not a mother, but as a former daycare worker, I had a baby come in, his parents hadn’t even left yet, and he had a blowout all over me 😂! He was also the baby that had the most blowouts, so it was a common occurrence
12 hours gone is crazy! My boyfriend is gone 12 hours bc he works 10 a day (free Friday)and the commute is an hour back and forth. We don’t have any kids together and it’s hard to maintain our romantic relationship lol

16:14 thank god someone said it D.A.R.E is so useless bro. It taught us about drugs but nothing about how to react to being spiked, if someone overdoses, or needs help getting clean it just taught us “drugs bad don’t do them” and proceeded to explain in great detail how the drugs worked and the outcomes of it which 90% of the time was exaggerated just to try and scar us. Out of the 30 kids I did D.A.R.E with, probably like 5 of them have never done drugs while the rest have had trips to rehab, been the ones selling, or just plain smoking and drinking around town in the very D.A.R.E shirts we got for completing the program 💀
I would love to hear your opinion on Twins, Twins and Sextuplets/Table For 12! I LOVED that family so much and I thought the parents relationship was so healthy!
Their relationship was healthy but why did the kids just blatantly listen to their parents without fighting? I was shocked by that. Surely, Eric and Betty spanked their kids or something. No kid, teenager or not just listens to their parents blindly so, there was definitely something wrong there.
Yeah but she technically was because she worked only Saturdays and she worked 16 hour shifts so, she literally sacrificed every other Saturday so, she was a stay-at-home for the majority of the time. Also, when they got the series, she quit her job as a nurse to be a stay-at-home mom when it became Jon and Kate Plus 8.

I do enjoy your series it’s very organized and well put together. This is my last episode and I’ll say you do come down on Kate harshly in comparison with Jon . No Parents are perfect but they did a good job given the circumstance
Collin recently accused Kate of zip-tying his hands and feet together and keeping him contained in a bolt-locked room with cameras and a mattress on the floor as a kid. So, yes, it can be really hard for me to be empathetic with Kate but I do consistently acknowledge that I wouldn’t thrive in this environment either. But, I don’t really have the words to truly describe her evilness if the accusations are true.
This is so nit-picky but I hate how Kate says “but it’s ARE life”, instead of “OUR”…. I know the words basically sound the same, but there’s usually a slight difference in how you say each one. I just know she would have yelled at & corrected Jon if he said it like that. It’s bugged me since the show came out🤣
Same. It drives me nuts considering she would berate Jon for his grammar when she can't even speak. She literally even talks about in high school, she used to look up weird words in the dictionary and she would make up nonsense words and she had the nerve to write books, which shocked me.
These two were toxic to each other, for marriage. I think they had fun dating, but once real life set in, they were too opposite. Jon was very immature and Kate was overly mature. For him to comment on her body being destroyed by the pregnancy was foul. Karma hit him tho because she maintained a good physique while he gained. Their dynamics were off to maintain a lasting marriage.
I’d be interested to see your takes on all these episodes once you have kids yourself. I wasn’t a mom when these first aired, but rewatching now as a mom of three, I have an entirely new perspective. There’s no better parent than someone who doesn’t have kids or hasn’t had kids yet. I mean, I didn’t think Kate overreacted to the diaper blowout. It’s not like she broke down crying. She was just exasperated because it’s hard enough caring for eight little kids without things like that happening in the middle of it all. I also never thought she and Jon asked too much of the twins. Asking them to entertain the babies for a few minutes here and there isn’t too much to ask. They very much let the girls be kids.
Yes, there is, though. As the twins got older, Kate literally would ask the twins to baby-sit the sextuplets and listen to them as basically extra parents and helpers. It was gross to me. I know the sextuplets didn't want to but the twins are 3 1/2 years older than they are, they're not "equals". They are the older siblings and younger siblings have to listen to the older ones. If they don't want to, that's something the parents have to teach, which clearly Jon and Kate didn't do too well. If I was ever in their situation, I'd teach the younger siblings to listen to the older siblings period, whether my husband and I are there or not if I'm telling the older ones to watch the younger ones.
I think it's important to remember that Jon & Kate (at least back then) were Christians in name only - they do not represent Christianity, fundamentalist or lukewarm.
