Nice demo, came here from your new "best mini amp" video. Been looking at these as I really like the Vox amplugs sound and figured these would sound similar. The mini 5 looks good too, with added rhythm.
Hello, thank you for the demo ... What is the "TAP", drum machine? And also it's hard to imagine what is worth 3 watts, and it's powerful enough to play in a room? What is the amp worth with electroacoustics? Thank you!! I hesitate with this one, or a Blackstar, or a Katana Mini .......Difficult!
hey there! the TAP is to set the tempo of the Delay effect. It's a pretty loud amp and is loud enough for a room. I haven't tried it with an acoustic guitar, but I'm sure it's ok. cheers
thanks for a great demo, but just a little more personal information is required here instead of all the type written generic stuff. For instance perhaps you could have covered what an acoustic guitar would sound like ?- PLS explain the tap button . Also some info on what type of accessories could be plugged into the auxilliary socket for accompaniment. Im sure everyone needs to know this stuff , I know that I am !!
what type of looper pedal should I buy ?? I am teaching myself how to play electric and I bought a fender telecaster as well as this amp in the 5 watts. The effects are pretty good altough I wish the echo and the tremolo was a little better
Just found this, well, after watching you mini-amp shootout... need a small practice amp while all of my main gear is stored for a retirement move later this year.
Just so everyone knows, my mic input wasn't working on this amp. I called sweetwater, and they said it won't put out much sound without a preamp. In order to use a preamp, you have to have a power source. So no, this isn't the perfect busking amp.
Doesn't work without a preamp I guess, so being battery powered is kind of pointless since you're going to need a external power source for the preamp. I just bought one last week. Ordered an adapter for my mic cable. Female xlr to male 1/4. I plugged my mic into mine today, and very little sound came. I called sweetwater to ask if I may have purchased the wrong adapter. They said nope. Suggested the preamp purchase, and told me I'd need an external power source for the pre amp, so it kinda defeats the portability feature of the amp. Major design flaw not having a built in pre amp. What the hell Vox? I'm returning mine, since I can't use it for the purpose I purchased it for. If you just want to play guitar through it outside anywhere, it's great. Just don't buy it if you want to sing too.
For sure it can. I run my 12-string through it, or even a Takamine 6-string ac. electric. Both sound great. You might also consider a Roland Micro Cube, which is also a fantastic amp for acoustic electric guitars.
i think then it is best when i sell the VOX mini 3 and buy a Fender Champion or a Fender Mustang amp. i bought the Vox because in all reviews it sounds so good . and bec of the microphone input. but the mic does not sound good... and i find the VOX does not sound so good like in the reviews. But i must say that i m a beginner and so it might not sound as good bec i cant play so good like all who play in the reviews..
I have a Fender Mustang II and it's a good, small but powerful practice amp, and can get you close to tube amp model sounds, the Fender and Vox models on there are particularly good. And.or, you can add a good pedal, like the Tubescreamer or a Blues Driver, or any good multi OD pedal, and get even closer, if you don't want a huge expensive actual tube amp.
and for country or love songs what do i have to choose.. ? i mean for The music they playd in end 50s like Jimy Reeves. i dont play metal or Rock music. i like country music and 60s country .
what setting i need to do for Country music or Jimmy Reeves lovesong style..like 60s country music. what should i choose to set ? i m just not satisfied with this VOX i tried different settings. Maybe this is a Rock Amp.
Jim, use the AC15. Gain about 10:00, VOL 2:00 Ya got SC or HB pups? That will matter GREATLY on your tone setting. This setting handles my 60s 70s Country just fine! OH, put alittle COMP and some delay (fast for 60s) and some cases the spring reverb does good too!
Not good on pedals. maybe with a Noise Gate. I just ordered one Noise Gate. later i can say if it works . The Fly is very tiny and can use also with battery. so if you need an very light weight and small amp for taking around i would recommend the Blackstar FLY..the FLY has a good sound aswell... This VOX is small but still heavy to carry around . except you need it for play with a Band. then it is ok.
Now THIS is how an amp review should be done. Everything demonstrated in 5 minutes. Sounds like a great little amp. Thanks Landon.
That is the way a test should be done. Great job!! I have one and love it! I also have a Fender Mini Passport.
hey thanks! ya with so many sound options, a looper works great.
Hi, would you prefer to practise in a small room, Vox mini 3 or Fender Mini passport? Thks

probably as good as your headphones 😊👍
Well, I have a good.set but they can sound.fantastic or mediocre.according to the amp's output. So... Anyone?
