Dead Set your the best Card collector content guy on TH-cam
Facts
It's because he eats his vegetables
TY so much Chris for the long format coverage of the auction again !! Love when u do these as opposed to the broken down segmented ones.
Watched every minute--excellent review! Gonna go sort cards as well--feels like there's gotta be some crazy heat in old 5000 count boxes I haven't sorted since the 90's. Wow there's a lot of money in the world.
Gotta hand it to you Chris. This is my favorite sports card channel on TH-cam by a mile
I think in 10 years some of these will be good buys but some will prove to be way overpriced. The hobby unfortunately has turned into either you have a rare auto patch that's worth big bucks despite the player being new ie Lamelo, or you have regular HOFERS cards that are way undervalued, especially in football. Most of the list was basketball to no surprise. Thank you Chris. You are the GOAT of sports card content. No debate there.
Wow is right! I gotta believe the total proceeds from this auction exceeded the GNP of some small countries.
Always love your videos. I learn a lot from them. Great to run into you in Chantilly.
Wow love it!! I wish all of your videos were this long. Love seeing this stuff
That gretzky seems high because it’s a dual shield dual auto with lemieux LOVE this channel keep them coming!
Love when you do Golden Auctions recap, something different other than eBay, people rely upon eBay as end all be all and its not, thanks for the content as always. 🔥
Its alot of value in your vids. Keep the Great content coming💯💯💯
Thanks for some more entertaining and informational content as always. Hope all is well Chris!
My congrats to your son on his upcoming graduation. Excellent video/Awesome content. Thanks Chris
Could you consider doing a video on the last PWCC auction? 50k plus items, 1st auction after their separation from eBay. Lots of lower end items went for peanuts.
Yeah I definitely have to get my best cards graded!!! How do I go about it? What should I do??? I know I have some gems!!! I so much appreciate what I just watched!!! Awesome!!!
I love your Auction vids! Thanks! If sewell is paying LeBron I'm paying Dwayne Wade!
Glad your voice held up Chris-that was quite a “throat”athon with informed commentary as usual & I watched every minute. 👍
Ha!
Sadaharu Oh is the japanese Hank Aaron.
Its always interesting to see which cards are valued by collectors over other cards. #943 and #944 especially, seeing a Lamelo Prizm /49 non auto sell for 4x that of an NT RPA /49 makes little sense to me
Crazy prices on those newer cards!!
Went to the Greater Boston Sports Card Convention yesterday. The amount of high graded vintage was not to be believed. 10+ 52 Mantles. 10+ T206 Cobb, 50+ 1933 Ruth. Dozens of Aaron, Mays, Koufax rookies. Unreal.
Mann I can see Boston card shows going off for sure since baseball is what people think of when they think of Boston!
@Card Lens, do you happen to know when the next Greater Boston Card Show is? Is there a location these are usually held? Ty…
@@chrisi.2117 At the show they said this one is held on the first November weekend every year. They said there is a corresponding one that is in April at the set location (Shriner's Hall in Wilmington). I have heard there are other smaller ones every month or so, but not sure where.
Love seeing all the Shohei Ohtani signed RC but sadly I'll never get to afford any of them. 😭
7:08 I got to hold that Ohtani Superfractor auto at the Chantilly show a few weeks ago! The Goldin booth had several of these cards on display!
Very cool!
The 1971 Bradshaw PSA 10 is my favorite.
I love ripping, so I will take the case of 2003 exquisite! I hope you make it to your sons graduation 😂 I would also love the 86 fleer box!
Who's feeling lucky? :)
Golden Auctions is no joke. Heavy heavy hitter stuff on there.
i have been buying quite a few nascar driver cards, and i just want to say, Let's go Brandon!!
At 6:30 in the video, you mentioned that the price for the Wayne Gretzky signed NHL shield patch card (Lot #41) seemed "incredibly high." I think you might have overlooked the fact that it was a dual patch auto with Mario Lemieux and his auto/NHL shield patch on the other side of the card.
Good call... I definitely overlooked that
Great info on cards prices I do have a jeeter card numbers out of twenty five I still haven’t seen any we’re so I’m still looking for some info on it
I'm hoping to bring the fun back to funatic. Will be at the Dulles Expo Center this weekend .I will have some decent cards for sale and/ or trade. Some recent cards, but mostly junk wax cards mostly interesting. Got some nice Tom Brady rookie cards in raw condition, but definitely mint/near mint condition. Sincerely, Tom VanderArk
Crazy stuff. Pre-covid I hit up one of my regular locker buyout guy and he had a 1979 OpeeChee Gretzky AUTOd card in a box along with other minty 60s and 70s rookies.. I offered to buy it (It was PROBABLY a $3000 card raw) He said he felt SORRY for the guy who lost the unit and wanted to give him his cards back... Who forgets to pay storage on a unit with a ton of high dollar rookies in it?? I think he just wanted to keep the cards for himself. That Gretzky now would probably be an 8 or 9 and sell for north of $50,000 nowadays.
The BGS 9 Lebron Logo Man seems like a pretty generous grade - it has some bad chipping on the left edge.
That Pepe the frog honus Wagner nft is hilarious
Just some insane prices. Wow so many Lebron’s and Kobe’s. The newer cards certainly seem to have overtaken vintage.
Need some of those lebanons
@@EricCKeys Couldn't agree more the Beirut variation with zebra red blue parallel is extremely undervalued !
@@chrisd997Give it some time, that Beirut variation could explode when you least expect it.
@@MrMotavlogs sorry man, I impatient sometimes. I should better first check the falafel insert card
Wall Street has taken over the hobby.
Fun fact about that red Soto. The 16 bowman chrome superfractor doesn’t exist anymore so that red refractor is essentially his best card. Might be why it went for such an enormous amount of money
Interesting point... I was not aware
@@collectorinvestordealer unfortunately it was altered and regraded by PSA without them catching it. They realized their mistake and bought it, deactivated the certification number and the card is now gone forever.
@@BASEBALLfreakFORlife 😳 crazy story
Who are these millionaire card collectors!? I wish they would start a youtube channel and show us their collection.
Best content on TH-cam 💯
With the price of the 86 Fleer Box, you might as well just buy the PSA 10 Jordan.
Each wax box is likely to hold 2-3 Jordan rookies, on average. Just a rough guess, but with todays PSA grading standards, it would take 20+ fresh wax pack submissions to get 1 gem 10 graded copy. So yeah, you are 100% correct. You would get all the other cards in the boxes as well, but compared to the Jordan RC, all the other cards in the set are basically worthless.
I'd like to see an update to these cards with today prices, 😂
Question; I have many of these high dollar cards. How can I trust mailing my most high dollar cards to PSA and not be afraid of not getting my cards back?
I just want to say I got a lot of those cards of those cards you in auction what do I do how do I go about getting the money from give me some feedback please I need some help on this thank you
The Kris Bryant superfractor auto actually sold for about twice that price last time it moved. So, not a record on this one.
Is there a credible app or website i can go to so that i can check a cards worth?
Go to Ebay and check completed auctions for the card you're interested in.
Best thing about sportscards if you run out of food & money, sportscards are delicious with mustard
Ken McMullen is in the house!
Anyone else catch how the Chris Paul 2005-06 Exquisite RPA parallel #rd 1/3 BGS 9 (lot #974) at 1:09:00 sold for $121,200 but earlier in the video at 19:18 another copy of the same card (#rd 2/3; older label BGS 9; lot #242) sold for $39,600?? Very strange. The cheaper 2/3 version does have a weaker patch and a scuffed BGS case, but the wide margin between the two was one of the most surprising things to me from this latest Goldin auction.
I didn't catch that... wow that is strange
I have a Tim wallach 1987 Topps....it's an expos card and the expos aren't a team anymore so the card is worth super extra money....also, bill gullickson first wives rc auto pubic hair patch....
How to decide if to go with Goldin, Heritage, REA, or another auction house?
All three have very strong reputations and fetch strong prices so I think you're ok with any of those three.
I think that Brady Champ Tix would have gone for more if there wasn't another 8.5 auction going on over at PWCC at the exact same time. That one went for approximately the same price. Way too many of these being cashed out this year.
These prices honestly make me sick. What are people thinking? And especially when a Babe Ruth on card 33 Goudey auto is one of the cheaper lots. Mind-boggling.
Thank you
Would you consider doing some Memory Lane, Mile High, Robert Edward, or Heritage auctions? As a vintage baseball card collector, I think they tend to have better stuff than the Goldin Auctions (for example, the Babe Ruth rookie that Mile High has right now is incredible)!
Great idea...I will consider that
My favorite part was when you perfectly described a tiger woods card to the T . Next card “Pokémon card , 6 grand .”
Haha!
WOW is right!
I’m so surprised you thought 92k was too much for the Wayne Gretzky NHL Logo patch auto!?!
Same. Considering some of the stuff that sells for way more
So a Mahomes bgs 9.5 prizm rc numbered to 5 sold for $400k but the 1/1 auto rc psa 10 didnt get an open bid of $100k ...........time machine
I have a question sir. I have some cards I've held on to for around 20 years....like a 1981-82 topps magic Johnson, and a 2003 upper deck LeBron James. They are WCG 10's. Is WCG as good as PSA?
WCG is not considered a credible grading company and generally doesnt add any value to the ungraded card
@@collectorinvestordealer Roger that sir. Thank you
Really crazy seeing some of these sales. The /100 Jordan Patch Auto (#31) going for just $113K while the /100 Red PMG (#30) going for almost $400K really caught my eye at the disparity there.
There are only 90 of the red PMG’s the first 10 are green. Plus it’s very difficult to find the PMG’s in good condition due to the foil flakes off them.
@@geebsctown4427 Yeah, I understand the reasoning behind why PMGs are so heavily favored but it's still surprising that a non-auto jersey card of the NBA GOAT goes for almost 4X less. It'd be one thing if the #31 item wasn't even autographed and was just a patch at least.
@@DawnBTVS I get it, but you have to understand you can find a many types of MJ auto patch cards more easily than a PMG cards so the difference in value comes in scarcity of obtaining one.
That lebron RPA was 23/99 which brings a huge premium since that’s his jersey number. Figured that woulda been mentioned. Great content nonetheless
Good point... I overlooked that
How many used camry's could you have bought if you totaled all of these up?
Ha! A lot!
Hey, iv got a question about a specific card in your video the Larry Bird, Magic, and Dr.J Topps scoring leaders. I understand that breaking the card down into it's 3 parts is a very bad ideal, unfortunately somebody did not, and I happen to have the Julius Ervin piece. Does it still hold any value in this form? The piece is actually in excellent shape considering it's only 1/3 of the whole.
Thanks for the videos !
The Julius Erving separated would probably bring around $5 or so
When someone gets “authentic” instead of a grade it’s just because they can set the value instead of having to value it at market price for said psa grade. I think anyway
Something is very worng with the collectors today if they value labron James auto RC 20x higher than a BABE RUTH AUTO VINTAGE CARD
Dude this is so much work. How can we tip you for your time? Really appreciate this content
Really appreciate that! I have a donations page via paypal (in the video description)
Haaland's superfractor auto outsold the Mbappe gold by several hundred thousand. By my guess is the gold is still top 5 for modern soccer!
Was not aware of that Haaland Superfractor sale...!
LET'S GET WILD! 🤑💯🤞
Chris I need a Pete Maravich rookie, I m a collector and Pete is my all time favorite, I have cool cards to trade, let’s make a deal?
Not a fan of the SGC slabs
What kind of commission does Goldin charge?
They charge a buyers premium of I believe 20%. The seller I do not believe pays a fee or perhaps it is negotiable.
@@collectorinvestordealer Seems like a good business to be in these days!
Card show in Orlando Florida on November 19!
I have a weird 1994 Griffey Jr Upper Deck Collector's Choice "Check List" and beside the picture of him, there is a list of 1- 53 players and he is #26. Anybody know what these "check list" cards are? I can't figure out why he is #26?
54:44 I won the trout 1/1 rookie auto from sterling for 9K. Thoughts on that? Did I get a great deal?
Congrats on that! Seems like a good price
Nice!
a lot of those cases seem like decent value? i dunno- not a bad gamble if you've got the dough re mi
86 MJ bgs 9.5 and complete set for 63K…..is a steal. Pay 200k for a psa 10 they say. Altered kobe red PMG for $55k….🎭
Collectors already bailing out of Mahomes rookies 🤣🤣🤣
modern cards, produced to be "rare", never made to be in sets, going for those prices...absurd. the mantle...yes.
Yeah, the Mantle rookie card is a part of the collective memory of tons of people.
Nobody has any emotional attachment to a random 1 of 1 NBA rookie patch card. Nobody even likes the NBA anymore, it's unwatchable,
I hope you didn’t bother with the nfts
Zizu Rookie PSA 9 🤯
The only true value deal in this auction is the ‘52 topps mantle PSA 8 which looks centered near perfect for $2 million. If i had $2 million to invest, that piece would be it.
i am amazed to see sellers still listing henry ruggs cards for hundreds and even thousands of dollars on ebay. They must be thinking they will be collectable because of his tragic ending rather than a long career in the game.
Wow is right
I just watched an hour+ long video about cards I will never be able to afford.
love you chris :)
is there like a really quick short answer why the mantle "rookie (2nd year) is soooo much more worth than the true rookie? Im not into baseball at all, only know that what you say in your videos basically XD
The short answer is the 52 Topps is a more iconic card with more history behind it in the baseball card world.
A green 1/1 Kaboom of Giannis for over 90K yikes! No auto or game used jersey patch, “not I said the fly.”
That Kobe card I felt like is undervalued. Under $1 million for a 1/1?
I think that Kobe logoman was also from the first logoman set ever produced.
Please slow down if that's what it takes to get the stuttering down. Otherwise love the content!
I just can’t believe people are actually exchanging USD of that size..,for some photos on some compressed paper? I just don’t see it… Have any of you reading this here and now, seen with your own eyes ,people doing this very exchange? Anyone? I’ve never once confirmed or got anyone to confirm of the legitemency of these sales? Quarter of a million? I’m all for it and hope it’s true but cmon? Please respond if anyone has confirmation of this ?
The most relevant opinion on sports cards is by someone who is sick of the sports themselves for all the right reasons.
I have some cards that I want to sell
*cough*corruption*cough*
I Chris this is Michael Bell from California you have a very nice spots card channel on TH-cam that I watch can you please let me know if you find a Ozzie. PSA 9 Mint or 10 I would greatly appreciate it please keep up the wonderful spots card channel you have on TH-cam thank you

To me the only cards that are valuable are the ones they made before the idea of sports cards being valuable was a thing. Cards that survived being thrown out by moms and being put in bike spokes. Cards from before they even.made card savers and penny sleeve. Once the idea of cards being valuable became a thing everyone started thinking they could get rich off them and manufacturers just started making them like mad and most people only buy them because they think they'll make money. It's a wrap, cat's out of the bag. junk wax era to ultra modern all garbage. Every player has a thousand rookies and patch autos, refractors, inserts, parallels etc. .it's too much, shit's blown out
Like a moth to the flames, I can under stand the cards with proving careers but the guys that haven't done the big $ to be lost. I'll stick to the vintage an upto a point like low 80s there's only so many in top grades , an that's it. Just sayin
Just rich guys swapping cards among each other to keep fake prices high....one day maybe people will learn....
