Would love to see a Set Registry video from you. Including some of your sets, what you’re looking for, some explanations on different things to do on the registry. Would be a very interesting watch!
I like the 6 weeks worth of data, turned out to be diverse top ten and honorable mentions lists. I would pick the pin hole Mantle over the 3 in a heartbeat. Thanks, Chris! 🍻
I think that was a really astute purchase on the Mantle PR1. The centering is dead, the color is so rich and vibrant. 99% of the card shows like a PSA 8 which is 7 figures.
Nice eye appeal, but it looks like there is a noticeable crease that runs across the card. Just above his hands and across his neck. Can't tell if it goes all the way across, but probably does. Give me the VG3 in better lighting TBH.
Thanks for putting out these top ten videos Chris, always enjoy them. I would choose the Mantle with the pinhole/ 1 grade. I thought I read that the pinhole automatic 1 grade rule was softening and some pinhole cards had recently received a 2 grade. If so, that card could reasonably be graded 2, in my humble opinion.
When I see sealed product from highly desirable years, at this point, I always wonder if they've had it since release and - in the case of the '03-'04 NBA UD Ultimate Collection - if they could have traded it for a house 3 years ago. ( Mantle PSA 1 all day.)
I’ve got a 1995 flair hot gloves Griffey out to Psa. It is an error because it has no name or company logo on front of card. Just pulled it from a pack and it is in perfect condition. Should come back as 10, 9 at the least. In your opinion what is the value of it?
Chris any interest in buying a lot of 1967 Topps Baseball? About fifty...mid grade plus on stars some high end commons? Probably selling a number of other vintage Baseball cards all highrt grade?
@5:31 Seems like a pretty risky gamble, for 30 thousand dollars. Yes, true the Stephen Curry, is a big money card, but realistically they would probably have to pull more than one to make good profit, assuming also it come back in a 10. A 9 would be fine, too. But with PSA, you just never know, a matter of luck with the grader IMO. BTW Chris, are you going to be attending the Silver Spring card show in February, or any of the other future shows? Hope to see you around.
Like alot of the older cards that were 'enjoyed' early in life, oh to go back and tell whoever put up the Mickey Mantle card up on their wall with a pin...that they were making a $100k+ mistake lol
Hey Chris, I have a question. In an earlier video you mentioned T206 Factory 42 cards. Does the premium apply for both Piedmont & Sweet Caporal? I love your content! Keep up the great work!!
Auction houses take 25-40% and most don't ship; you have to arrange it, and you pay starting at $75 for a thrid party shipper to pick it up. On one auction I won where they do ship, they shipped a valuable photo in a thin bubble mailer, it got crushed by USPS and auction house would not refund me.
I honestly like the 3. Although the 1 has slightly better eye appeal the 3 looks nice too. The seller of the 3 would have done himself a favor by turning up the brightness on that photo.
I think I’d buy the Mantle PSA 1 it looks so much better and clean and crisp! Question For Chris, would you crack the 3 packs with the Wayne G. And try to grade the cards or keep them in the packs with the grades they have? I guess 1 more question would it be worth in the packs or as a single? Which I guess those 3 cards/packs is what makes the value of the lot. But there’s still a small chance the others have a Wayne G.
To make it less likely someone uses that serial number on fake slabs... Once the grading company catches on, they deactivate the number, forcing the owner to send the card back in, have it re-evaluated, given a new serial #, and have it sent back... a lot of risk in that situation for the real owner.
@@TheRealWarez Okay, but doesn't that make it easier for someone to fake a slab? When I look at purchasing a slab the first thing I do is check the serial number. If I can't check it then essentially the slab is worthless, to me at least. Sorry, I just want to verify the serial number matches the slab & if I can't do that then I'm going to avoid the card like the plague.
The problem with buying boxes of 2004 “Ultimate” is there are a lot of high end cards that came as redemptions. Of course you can’t redeem them today. Can you imagine pulling a 3 or 4 signature card to get burned because it’s a redemption? There’s no doubt in my mind that the Mantle grade “1” represents itself better than the “3”. I’ll take the pinhole and enjoy the he front of that one! Lastly, I knew I should have save my Gary Gentry cards!!
Everything about it screams "YIKES" PSA is in small letters....auction ended on a Wednesday morning. Someone really didn't try hard enough to get full value.
When you say the RH was probably not a legit sale, do you mean the buyer made an offer that was accepted and probably did not pay? Or is there another situation I am missing? And curious, how would you ship a $150k card? Via armored truck? :) There is no way I could put that in the mail and sleep at night.
That Henderson looks like it was laser cut from an uncut sheet. It has a "bowing" to it, like all sheet cut cards do. Plus, only BVG was grading sheet cut cards back then. The odd one slipped through from PSA and BGS, but not too many.@@collectorinvestordealer
Something seems fishy to me about the packs with the Gretzkys. I have a hard to believing the seller held onto these packs knowing he had 3 Gretzky rookies this whole time and didn't open them. And doesn't this price seem low if these lot is actually legit?
@@williamcollins8098 there have always been fake Jordans out there and people have known. I remember back in 1998/1999 not wanting to buy one because all you heard about was how many fakes there were
I have a box of Cards in a can.. can't find much info on them and have never been opened 20 plus years old. Any info on them would be greatly appreciated!
So if you don't post any info on them (baseball? Football? Brand? Year?) then how is anyone going to be able to give you help? Also, 20 years ago is pretty much peak junk era cards. Unless it's a key rookie or rare top vet insert in really high grade, any cards from the 80's-early 2000's are pretty much worthless
😂 All those 2023 BC Brady sellers are laughing all the way to the bank. For me a photo on a card and the back story matters. Brady played ZERO meaningful baseball AND the pic on the card was photo shopped from Darrin Fletcher's body 😂
I wouldn’t call the 52 Topps Mantle PSA 3 a high end example for the grade bc I just prefer a pack fresh example to one w significant toning. But if u don’t mind the toning then I guess u could call it a high end example, to each their own
The Croft's Cocoa cards are very rare and often have bleed through from the back on the front. But that is the worst I've ever seen. I watched the auction, having seen all the other graded versions of this card and couldn't believe it was graded a 3, and people were basically bidding on the grade. It went up several thousand dollars in the last minutes. It is awful example of a Wagner card. Also, possibly the worst E92 Croft's cocoa I have seen. IMO.
Yeah, we see 9's that are 10's and 10's that are 9's all the time. It gets pretty darn absurd with how much money is on the line with these subjective numbers in these plastic holders
So the green Emmitt, my brother pulled it in 1998 at a card show. He sold it the following year for $200. It’s fun keeping track of it.
Sorry for his loss!

Centering off left to right on the Jordan. Still wouldn't mind having it lol. Awesome job Chris

Really good deal. Especially that they were PSA slabbed.
Pinhole mantle looks way way better. Thanks Chris for the great videos!!
Probabbly the best looking PR 1 Mantle in existence!
Good stuff as always Chris! I went after that gold Freddie but lost it. FYI a red freeman refractor also just sold.
So many of these Jordan fleer rookie cards that get a psa 10 are usually off center. Drives me nuts lol
P.S!-I love the postcard! You should always throw a different high end collectable in the honorably mention catagory! Very cool!

that 2nd Mantle rookie is creases across his neck and right of his neck
That crease probably happened while the card was pinned to something.
Good catch, I didn’t notice those.
That is soooo sad about that PSA 1 Mantle RC, cause if it wasnt for that super small pinhole, that card had a decent chance at being an 8 or higher.
That pinhole card shouldn’t be a 1.
Thanks Chris, have a great week collectors.
We have a winner!

PSA 6

Hey Chris, I have a question. In an earlier video you mentioned T206 Factory 42 cards. Does the premium apply for both Piedmont & Sweet Caporal? I love your content! Keep up the great work!!
Its a massive premium for the piedmonts. I think the sweet caporals, its just a minor premium.
I like the look of that CJ Stroud, gives me early 2000 Topps Rookie Premiere vibes. I’d take the MM PSA 1!
I love this series😃

If the Jordan had been sold on PWCC, the seller would have paid ~10% in fees. If it had been sold on Goldin, the seller would have paid ~15% fees.
Most auction houses have buyers premiums which cover fees. They aren't taking a big chunk from the seller like Chris mentioned
I have a perfect copy of the Henderson buried somewhere at my moms house, I gotta get over there lol

Not sure what I would do! More inclined to leave them in the packs and sell that way than to open.
why rationally would the /5 Brady chrome go for $10k and the /50 Brady auto go for $15k?
I guess people prefer the auto
It wouldn't be a high rollers without the 🐐Ken McMullen
Ken McMullen's WAR/162: 3.5. Winfield 3.5, Tony Perez 3.15, Ichiro 3.7. That pinhole Mantle!!!
