I think this is one of the purest interpretations of Lovecraftian horror ever committed to film; in less than six minutes, we are confronted with obtaining hidden knowledge beyond our capacity to understand, and the subsequent insanity that follows. That gorgeous soundtrack makes it all the more engrossing; job well done!
This is so perfect the music that plays dose a great job of creating an other worldly feel And when he is walking towards relyeh It feals like forbidon to man
Hi, I'm the composer and no sorry it's not possible to buy it from any site..you'll have to watch it again and again! But I'll see what I can do with Bandcamp. Thanks for watching, rating or sharing! Regards.
so i love H.P. Lovecraft and have seen many fan videos of his. this is by far the most visually stunning work. I felt that you captured the beauty within the horror of his work. And i am happy to hear that you didn't just through some random horror music over the top of the video. It was eery yet soothing at the same time.
the music.....when he starts reading through the book....it was perfect. it somehow reminded me a little of silent hill 2, with the music perfectly fitting the insanity, and then I saw R'lyeh...sent shivers down my spine
This was an amazing short. The fact theirs no words and the eeri calm make this one of the best lovecraft shorts I've seen. The music is great, the part with the light coming through the shack and pulling the boards away is awsome, giving the feeling that Ryle is somewhere you would be drawn to. And the image of Ryle was awsome; using the large columns like sky scrapers and the harsh light. Again Great video!
Brilliant. It perfectly captures that intangible fear that Lovecraft generates in his stories (and that most films fail to convey). And the music fits perfectly, adding another layer to the atmosphere. I want some more.
in spite of the techinical limitations due to the age of this film, this is just about perfect It captures the atmosphere of HPL to a tee My only real complaint is that the statuette of great cthulhu is oddly cartoonish and not frightening Unlike the rest of the entire film A real beauty
Really a beautiful interpretation of H.P. Lovecraft, i like how he's whole rational world is torn a sunder at the truth, you just hit the true essence of Lovecraft, the music, style everything. Really a wonderful work of art.
Absolutely superb! Very intense and atmospheric, with great music and first-class animation! And I wouldn't worry about copyright issues regarding R'lyeh, as Lovecraft's work is pretty much in the public domain these days, and is very often referenced both commercially and non-commercially by a great many others, including professional authors, and has been since HPL's untimely death in 1937. Such is both the price and the reward of creating a grand mythos :) Very well done indeed!
Kick ass!!!!!! the quality of the animation is EPIC! theese guys should make full movies or PC games... and i loved the boat house that was pretty original i think and well i dont know.. 5 stars on my behalf... deffenetly prettyest animation i have seen this year.
IA CUL CTHULHU CTHUNAE......, This is a fantastic animation, more power than many other efforts I truly salute the creators, beautifuly crafted and percise in realisation of concept, Hollywood and world cinema as a whole can take a leaf out of the creators of this videos book, truly Magnificent. I deffinitely want to see more.
You said more without one word spoken great job
Thank you Dave, we (still) appreciate :)

the music.....when he starts reading through the book....it was perfect. it somehow reminded me a little of silent hill 2, with the music perfectly fitting the insanity, and then I saw R'lyeh...sent shivers down my spine

The image of Ryleh is just how I was trying to imagine it when I read Call of Cthulhu. Awesome ^_^
Incredible! Short; it effectively conveys the essence of Lovecraft. The music is just incredible! Good job!!
Wow, the idea of his home being the front of a ship is great - but overall very impressing
This is great, perfect.

Simply awesome. I'm sure the master of Providence would be proud with this. Thanks for posting it.
The Jaguar
A lot smoother animation than most of the Lovecraft shorts I've seen. Great job guys!
Love the buildup and the music.
Glorious
an amazing work of art. Tastefully done, and it captured the essence of Lovecraft's work. Can't wait to see another (maybe Pickman's Model)

Brilliant. It perfectly captures that intangible fear that Lovecraft generates in his stories (and that most films fail to convey). And the music fits perfectly, adding another layer to the atmosphere. I want some more.

That was stunning. amazingly well made. I'm sure Lovecraft himself would appreciate the beauty and horror expressed in this short film. Great job!
Very dark and eerie, and it puts me in a Lovecraftian mood
Awesome music!
Absolutly impressive.
Cette atmosphere ... et cette musique ... !
Merci mystérieux Mr Fantôme ! :)
All around great!!
Great video. I wished you showed more of R'lyeh itself, but you did an awesome job getting the non-Euclidean geometry and making it seem otherworldly.
agamnoth66 It's cool seeing such an old comment! You still active?
Masterpiece, it made feel just the way I feel when reading Lovecraft, in an undescribable way.
in spite of the techinical limitations due to the age of this film, this is just about perfect
It captures the atmosphere of HPL to a tee
My only real complaint is that the statuette of great cthulhu is oddly cartoonish and not frightening
Unlike the rest of the entire film
A real beauty
Excellent ! J'ai presque envie de le montrer à mes élèves pour leur faire dégager le schéma narratif du fantastique !
Really a beautiful interpretation of H.P. Lovecraft, i like how he's whole rational world is torn a sunder at the truth, you just hit the true essence of Lovecraft, the music, style everything. Really a wonderful work of art.
