I respect the person asking for the playstation money. They were upfront, they admitted that it was frivolous, but also didn't try to tie importance or fairness in their request, the ability to ask is there and they're being very transparent with wanting something without working to hard for it, nothing wrong with that if a bit diluted.

As a high school senior - no, we can't afford latest technology... And that's from sb who goes to charter school (or me and most of my friends were actually taught to not spend all of our money at once). From my experience we usually buy this stuff if the previous ones get destroyed to the point of being useless (or falling apart). IDK maybe in the US it's different but still (also if you want something like that why can't you buy a bit older model -- it's way cheaper and most likely works almost the same)
