    Ya, for general use long range version value is insane and even when we compare 0-60mph acceleration but if we compare 0 -130mph then that would make it totally worth it
    I think with plaid the idea of having super car and family car in single composition at that price makes it worth it

  • @txp7m8
    @txp7m8 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The new Model S LR is VERY fast after 60mph, will easily walk on a M3P after 60mph. Unfortunately the 0-60 time is throttled down to keep it from competing with the Plaid for sale. I didn’t waste $ on the Plaid, very pleased with my 2023 Model S LR, looks identical and still screaming fast running a 10.9 second 1/4 mile
    Having said all that, if the Plaid were a little more reasonable on price I’d own one but I’m not flushing that cash for bragging rights when I can already destroy 99.5% of all cars on the road.

    That's not about 0 to 60 Mile/h
    It's about 0 to 200 although it's currently limited to 163

    The Plaid is certainly wortht its money, think about it - almost 400 mile range, 200 MPH, low 9's in the 1/4 with the same amenities and safety. These are great too but Plaid takes it to the next level.

    Jake! This is the best Model S review ever, thx! I have LR on order currently due in November (been delayed many times!). I will be trading in my current 2020 M3 perf, which has very low range and has a lot of wind and tire noise, so much so that it's hard to hear the amazing sound system! How is the noise level in the Model S? thx again! Good job!

    • @CyberMikes
      @CyberMikes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      With the new sound isolation put into the newer models, the road noise is negligible. All of the newer models have double pane windows in the front to cut down on road noise. It’s very quiet.

    As a 23 long range S owner, I am happy with the performance, and overall choice. However, the plaid really kicks and pins you to the seat haha But I don't see myself doing this often and I just drive my S in sports mode, and not even the insane mode.
    Afterall, it's each to their own, and honestly I would have gotten the plaid if I had a bigger budget this year.
    Thanks for your video!

      He has 21 inches on His Model S in the video. I purchased 21 inches on my Tesla Model S P85D 7 years ago and almost immediately regretted it as they make the ride less comfortable, and decrease range. So on my new Long Range I ordered 19's which in my opinion look much better than the 21s.

    Thanks for the video I ordered mine the end of January 2021. They keep pushing the date up but for now it says the end of December.
    I like your comment on the price difference between the long range and the plaid. People definitely have more money than sense. Actually usually not true, most of the time they borrow more money than makes sense. The long range provides 95% of the experience. People are so caught up on a half a second. I’m sure the plaid feels insane from 60-150 but how often can anyone really do that unless you’re doing interstate travel on the smoothest roads. You could take the price difference and invest in a good stock mutual fund and that would buy you another Tesla in 8 years. Thanks again for the video.

    • @JAKEeSHOW
      @JAKEeSHOW  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi James! I agree 1000%. For me it's all about 0-60, and I understand for a group of people it's all about 60-150, which makes little sense to me...

  • @kpv123
    @kpv123 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is Michael, not Kathy. It is one of the best cars on the planet, but there is still PLENTY of room for improvement. Quality control is still a serious problem concerning fit and finish according to many owners. The horn thing definitely needs solved by moving to the center. The blind-spot camera picture should show up in the front on the main Dash like it does on the new EV Kia/Hyundai vehicles, not at the bottom center of the tablet which is way out of view. Why did they put turn signals for both directions on ONE side? The use of buttons on each back side of the yoke would be 100x better. There is no heads up display. There is no 360 overhead view that a lot of cheaper cars are putting in now . The rearview mirror should be switchable to show an adjustable camera picture with no blind spots like they do in the Corvette C8. The rear camera review, not reverse, is distorted. We shouldn't have to use a touch screen with two moves to open the glove box ! The brakes are not big enough for this car , and if you've ever driven a real sports car you would realize that immediately. The main tablet could be better integrated into the Dash. Remove the front liscence plate holder that the vast majority of states don't require. The Mercedes-Benz EQS hyper screen makes all of the Tesla's look old school. Otherwise it's a great car.

    Picking up my plaid in Renton on Tuesday. You should review it - we can go for spin. You should look at 1/4 mile times - the difference between the two is nearly 2 secs. Also the difference is $40k not $50k in today’s price. Paying only 20k$ to get a second off a quarter mile is a bargain.

    Huge difference in acceleration between the long range and the Plaid...not sure why you'd diss Plaid owners like that when they are the ones pushing the envelope forward so that long range owners get more value for their money...you should be thanking and appreciating the Plaid owners.

      I think to your point battery capacity/range/speed are all bi-products of the same engineering. I think beauty and value is from the perspective of the buyer. Do you value money or bragging rights.
      For me, I ordered MS LR and dumped the additional $40k into Tesla Stocks.

    The Plaid is way way better !!! because with long range you will get embarrassed all the time because many other ice car will beat you very often they will laugh at you and at your car because they will think that you are driving the plaid without the badge and you are going to lose the race very often. So to be save I suggest you to put long range badge in the back so that way no one will be racing with you .. The stock tires come with the plaid car can do 2.1 0to 60 and 9.25 easy !! The Plaid is way better especially after 60mph it pulls super good way way way better then long range!!
