I find his Courageous line "As long as we are one, we can prevail" could hold a double meaning. It may be for the party to encourage fighting as one. But it may also be that he finally accepts the beast, even briefly, so that harmony can bring victory
Can't believe no one mentioned that he is probably unaging and has a healing factor. Turning into the beast restores health, and he can also pause during fights to heal somewhat. He mentions that he fears he is immortal, and also that he was held prisoner for 'untold decades' while he doesn't look that old.
The line tends to blur. Way I see it, most barks can be legit if they're corroborated. For example, Dismas being in prison. He mentions it 3 different times, so something tells me it's a true story.
Red hook studio should make a show out of the game. So much depth in each character and the way the game is designed makes it easy to make it a mixed episodic/continouing story.
Honestly speaking, in terms of personality and interaction, Abom and Flaggelant are my two favourite characters, and I'm not sure what that says about me as a person
I think he also went to the hamlet because of the proximity to libraries worth of infromation about eldritch crearures and curses. At best he might find the cure, at worst- might just find a place where his beasthood is welcome
Such a tragedy, one man in pursue of knowledge and science but being betrayed by the very same he search. Not just being betrayed by something he loved, all human that was once his friends, his family, turn their back on him due to fear and was imprisoned for it. And now he break free from his jail and now in search for a place for him to die. Fantastic! I Love it. For note I love the second timeline better. Cannot wait for the occultist.
As soon as I heard Bigby, Bigby Wolf from Fables (or Wolf Among Us) came to my mind ngl. Both have monster-like transformations after all, and the same name.
Just rewatched this in light of his soon to be release in DD2. You were right, on the steam page for the inhuman bandage dlc he is described as an alchemist.
Couldn't timeline and be actually be combined coherently? He can be the Royal Alchemist but also in line for the throne. Being a child of royalty does not limit the functions you can have
The Abomination has always been my favorite of the damned souls drawn to the Darkest Dungeon, afflicted like the rest, but with his own personal curse giving him power in a very direct sense. And in when beseeching the Light, with it responding with a measure of healing and comfort, perhaps something out there still views favorably on him, even if he sees himself as truly lost.
My greatest fear is that they’ll make him a fight like the Antiquarian tbh. It’d be neat story wise if it was like “Having fought his inner demon for decades, here he stands, lost, and blood thirsty” and you had to fight him, unchained, in his demon form or something. Which is what I think would probably happen since he’s kinda complex of a character to try and translate to 3D. But I’d also be really sad not to see his shrine of reflection story
How do you feel about the theory that he was captured by cultist who used the brand to turn him into the beast, but perhaps it went wrong or they simply couldn’t control him and he escaped, alchemy is another word for magic in some spheres, but then that leaves his barks about being learned and such, which he very well could’ve been, but I feel that’s more of a side note
Hard to say, I feel like the Branding is more of a Church of the Flame thing. We see that in DD2 with the Fanatic and other Extremist branches like the Flags.
Character barks. The dialogue that appears sometime during the battles. The wiki has a (mostly) complete list along with the canon names. It's never outright stated in some cases but the pieces are there to form their backstory.

It gave me a sense of Venom and Eddy accepting each other
Even moreso, it could also imply that if they become two (himself and the beast), there would only be the beast left.

Hey that's pretty smart way to think. Nice eye on ya
really appreciate that you include the sources and draw a clear line between established lore and speculation

@@MiskatonicMemorialist he's also always afflicted with the known cheat quirk which I think provides further evidence to that theory

Imagine a sitcom with these characters with the same tone but with comedic interactions
Honestly speaking, in terms of personality and interaction, Abom and Flaggelant are my two favourite characters, and I'm not sure what that says about me as a person
You have good taste.
You are into bdsm
@@as45kx The people have spoken, this is the superior reply
You have some hidden masochistic fetish but like people with good intentions and desires?
Just as miskatonic said: you have good taste

I am hypped for the Chad Occultist. Bring on the zero crits heal-bleed!

The only channel on TH-cam that auto-generated subtitle is 95% correct. Very clear narrating. (Wouldn't mind official subtitle though)
his shackles are made of Iron, but his will is made of steel
Couldn't timeline and be actually be combined coherently? He can be the Royal Alchemist but also in line for the throne. Being a child of royalty does not limit the functions you can have
The quality of these things just keeps going up...
I really cringe watching the first couple hero lores.... °_°
Tried to be more Vaati than myself and ended up regretting it.
I'm not locked up in here with you, you're locked up in here with me
~Bigby
Or should we say “it”
I just liked the way he self heals.
I find it like, he still believes in the Light
Holy shit! I just powered through your whole playlist yesterday and BOOM you drop a new one on me!
Great content my guy
Red Hook's take on the Hulk
I love these videos and can never wait for the next one. Good work!
Thank you! Glad you like them!
Actually when they brand the A on him it doesn't mean Abomination it actually means awesome lil' fella
This is such a high quality video. Your channel is such a great find!
loving the lore videos
The Alchemist timeline reminds me Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
It pretty much have that inspiration but more lyccantroped

Awesome vid man, love your content, and to refresh my lore re: the Abomination as we wait for Inhuman Bondage! 💚🐐💀

Damm man, you are really good at making this videos, keep it on dude
The Ancestor isn't here yet...
Odd...
I do hope he's alright. We still have sooooo many Eldritch Abominations to summon.
Bigby soon being added to DD2 is like a dream come true, can't wait to see what they do with him :)
The abomination better be in 2. He is by far one of my must have heros during expeditions.

Ive been waiting for this one
I thought he was inspired by the hunchback of Notre Dame
Definitely has influence of it. But the design was more incredible Hulk. Chris Bourassa is a big fan of Superhero comics.
I might try a new run because of the renewed interest your videos inspired me
Thanks so much for these videos! I hate the gameplay, but I love the lore, the characters, the presentation, and everything else!
Tormented and wounded
Branded and persecuted
Torn inside out
Yet here I stand
I wonder if his name Bigby is a reference to the Fables comic or the Wolf Among Us game.
I mean he IS basically a werewolf.
100%
Best character

My favorite class!
I really hope that Abomination comes to dd2
with the new monster class the chances of him getting in is real high i think :D
Where do you find the informations you tell in this video ? ( Like is name or what he do during his life )

There are no such things as…coincidence…only the illusion of…coincidence…
A Bomb 5*
So, we have a werewolf-themed class with Abomination. Is there a vampire-themed class?
Crimson Court. Flagellant.
@@MiskatonicMemorialist Thank you so much.
