What is it you hope you can upgrade it to? Any firmware updates will be available via Tuya app, but if it’s HomeKit integration you need, it’s not likely you’ll be able to get that via an update.
Hey! My smart lock keeps showing the wrong status on HomeKit and Alexa App, but on Tuya App it’s fine. I restarted all configs many times and saw that when you start the smart lock, on HomeKit the status is great, but when you open de door with your fingerprint or passcode the status is fucked up. Do you see anything like this?
Hi, I’m not currently using this lock, so I cant advise on what the issue is. If anyone can help it would be ZemiSmart. They have live chat on their website I believe. My one piece of advice is to check the Tuya app to see if there’s an option to reverse the position.
@@homekitnews there’s a option “reverselock” it’s off, but not a feature that I can enable/disable through the app. It’s difficult to find any virtual manual to know what is that.
I have one (Same model in the video) but it stopped suddenly for no reason and it doesn't work when using the power bank or even new batteries. Has anyone faced this issue?
About Aqara homekey locks. I know it have zigbee. It does connect to the hub with zigbee. But I’m not sure if the HomeKit kit part is done via zigbee or Bluetooth. Zigbee it’s so much faster.
Hi, If you control the lock in the Home app/HomeKit, it will use Bluetooth. The only time the lock will use Zigbee is if you try to remotely unlock it from the Aqara app (only the A100 Zigbee can do this), or if you have created automations in the Aqara app, then once again it uses Zigbee. You still have to use Bluetooth for most other aspects of the A100 as well.
Hi, yes I’m in Taiwan. Whether you’re using the Tuya platform, or HomeKit, you will need their ZemiSmart Zigbee hub. Remote unlocking via HomeKit requires a Home Hub (Apple TV, HomePod, HomePod Mini) and for HomeKit you also need the round ZemiSmart Zigbee hub. It might work with other Zigbee hubs but not for HomeKit.
@@AndysTV it’s a bit of a ‘grey area’ as to what Tuya branded Zigbee devices will connect to HomeKit when you add them to the ZemiSmart HomeKit hub. ZemiSmart say that if a device is ‘Tuya Certified’ and belongs to a supported device category, it should be exposed to HomeKit.
You can use it without the hub, as fingerprints and codes are added and stored on the device, but if you want to assign these fingerprints and codes to people, so you know who is unlocking the door, then you need the hub, as this is how the lock connects to the app to do so. The hub is definitely needed if you want to use it in HomeKit.
You can use it without the hub to a limited extent, as a lot of the functions can be performed on the lock itself, but you won’t be able to connect to the app without a hub, as the lock only has a Zigbee chip, so there’s no possible way of it connecting to your phone. There’s no Bluetooth or WiFi in the lock.
Hi, very informative video, thank you. Any chance you’ve heard of a deadbolt style lock coming from this company or Aqara anytime soon? I live in the US.
Very good production of the video. Excelent quality. I have some questions about this lock before I buy it. First of all, does any of the apps (or even alexa) registers If any physical unlock method is made from inside or outside? Because I'm planning to make some routines with this. And I found pretty much the same lock selling not from ZemiSmart but from Tropernic. By any chance, do you know if is the exact same model and it will work with alexa? Thank you!
Hi, the A100 only works with Aqara, Google, and Apple HomeKit, not Alexa unfortunately. If you use the Aqara app, you can create automations or get notifications for when the door is specifically opened from the outside, but to create automations or get notifications you would need an Aqara hub. As regards other locks, there are many that look sort of similar, and may have many of the same features, but they won’t be the same. I did a video for a ZemiSmart Zigbee lock - th-cam.com/video/sY0OP6FcTL0/w-d-xo.html - which is compatible with Alexa. It’s not a bad lock, but it’s not in the same league as the Aqara A100. You would also need the ZemiSmart hub for the lock to work. Without the hub it won’t work with the Tuya app or Alexa etc.
Like most of the functions, it’s selected from the keypad via menus and sub menus, but you would need the manual to know which keys to press in order to get to the language option. If you don’t have the manual, you should contact ZemiSmart so they can email you a PDF of the manual.

Excellent review dude! Thanks for the mention 🥰

You are in Taiwan! Do you need an extra hub to connect it for remote unlocking? Does it support homekit right away? ZemiSmart or Tuya?

@@AndysTV as you’re in Taiwan, I would recommend the Aqara A100 Pro or Zigbee, as they will work with HomeKit very well, and don’t need a Zigbee hub.
Will this work with Home Assistant ?
Maybe using the Homekit intergration or something
I can’t say, as I don’t use these solutions, sorry.
Wonder is zemismart HomeKit hub needed to operate with this lock? I am using HomeKit btw
You can use it without the hub, as fingerprints and codes are added and stored on the device, but if you want to assign these fingerprints and codes to people, so you know who is unlocking the door, then you need the hub, as this is how the lock connects to the app to do so. @@chiacy123 It'll only work with ZemiSmart hubs, and if you want HomeKit, you'll need to use the round hub mentioned in the video.
Hola compre unas cerraduras zigbee tuya pero en el ipfone me sale error de conexión y en android no

No home key?
No.
How to set up passcode and card ?
The passcode and card are added directly via the lock. The included instructions explain how it’s done.
Thanks Simon! Great video!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
