You can be competative overtime even more so. But many can't jump on a wheel and be as fast right away. luckily you know thw tracks points of braking etc. So its a huge head start but you just ahve to get used to what the wheel and or car is telling you. Most cannot jump on a wheel and come close to there controller times now after a month yeah sure you can usually get close or even beat it I don't want anybody to believe or think they can get a wheel and automatically be faster. You can be but you have to adapt. To be only 6/10ths off right away is outstanding. So enjoy! You will be matching your times in a week maybe less lol. Just remember trail braking! Thats what will make you faster then you were on controller and hold balance. But yeah someone like you with these results you will be beating all of your pb's very soon.
Yeah I agree totally. I have to admit I was ecpecting to be 2-5 sec off my usual pace. I still need to get a feel for the wheel and all its setting. Then things like muscle memory to kick in. AND... laps on an empty track is one thing, in a race under presure... that will be something else. Lol
once you get a feel for it, you'll gain way more than that .628. for the relatively short time that i had my T300RS GT, i got about 3 to 5 seconds faster than the controller, could have gotten even faster had a learned to use the manual gear setting, lol. mostly i've found that you can more consistantly control your speed through the longer corners which gains a ton of time over a lap, and controlling throtle input coming out of the corners to control wheel spin.
Took me ages to get comfortable on my wheel but finally I got to a point where I was faster than I was with the controller. I'm not super fast but I think having the wheel let's you do certain things that you just can't otherwise.
for me i find my self too slow with the wheel so i start doing the driver license ,when i beat my time with controller i pass to next. no i can't turn back to the controller
I only use the controller for navigating never for driving, once you use a wheel you will never go back to driving using a controller. I found out this a long time ago if you use a controller and then a wheel, and then keep doing it over time you will endup confusing yourself I will say. So your better off using either a wheel or a controller not both. Hey @PhantaxRacing stay on your wheel at all times, because you will learn by your mistakes made by using a wheel.
@@PhantaxRacing It will not take you long to get used to the wheel, but it depends on how much practise you do every day. But as you say I'll get there eventually and you will if you keep at it mate 👍.
Its 1000x easier to spin out or lose the back end with a wheel.. The game gives you more control...so its more on you as opposed to a controller. Now try it with a clutch and gearbox you'll blow the engine up unless you can heel and toe.
I'm certainly no expert, a B rated driver. It took me quite a while to be quicker on the wheel. I still prefer the controller for rally/snow events. I should really practice doing them on the wheel as I just reach for the controller right away on those.
I'm currently B rated, close to A. I'm hoping eventually the wheel will give me that little bit more just to get into the A lobbies. I know what you mean, I've had to mentally ban myself from picking up the controller...lol
I don't think it matters for you. It's not like your fast with either but you paid for the Wheel now so it's just about enjoyment we are not all super gt
Welcome to the family

Just hit that subscribe button my friend. This is what it's all about. GT Sport was the first game I started on with a wheel Thrustmaster T150
@@Frogboyx1gaming Thank you
@PhantaxRacing absolutely my friend.
When using the controller, I couldn't beat Lewis on GTsport so bought a wheel. Initially about 2 seconds slower! But ultimately much quicker
Nice.
I know Im never going to be top split but if the wheel can just elevate my game a little I should be comfortable in with the A lobby guys
You will enjoy the game so much more now and eventually you will be a lot faster
@@DMCRacing82 Sounds great to me 😁

@racer1578 Hopefully, Im looking forward to seeing how the wheel affects my journey
Really enjoyed that. Nice one.
