Wow, props to TH-cam recommending this, and props to you for making this, Love it! Just started looking into resources to start solo play, but it seems I'm over-engineering it.
Hey, Im glad you found us. We demonstrate how you can solo play, and you are free to add or subtract as much complexity as you prefer! Definitely a benefit of Old School play.
Im so glad i found this! This is exactly what inwas looking for! I planned on doing D&D B/X but as this is like the same game (and i could find almost 0 on d&d B/X) this is PERFECT! 🎉 thanks again!
Awesome. My goal is to share what I know and encourage others to give it a try. If you have any questions in particular, I’d love to include that in a future episode.
I am only up to this video so far, so maybe this comment is already too late, or maybe you change it in a future video... but if I am not mistaken, the reason your pencil is so hard to see on screen is because you graphite is probably too hard. If I read the hardness code correctly on the end of your pencil, it looks like you are using a 5H, which is a fairly hard pencil. The tip won't break very easy, but it will look fairly light on paper. Might I suggest you change your pencil to a hardness of HB (also known as a No. 2 pencil). There is a reason SCNATRON tests in school required a No. 2 pencil, it's so that the little circles will be dark enough for the scanner to read them. Hope this helps. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
@@Scutifer_Mike The softer the pencil is you use, the darker it gets 9B is the darkest and 9H is the lightest. HB is medium.. For better viewability you can use 4B or 6B
Standard rations spoil overnight in dungeons. I dont remember if they kept that in OSE. Rather nasty. Of course back in the day with real-time, you returned to town after several hours in the dungeon, so you did all right with standard rations at the beginning of your career.
The real challenge with running this many PCs is remembering to go their inventories and making sure everything is up to date. I have some guys wearing chainmail when they can afford Plate!
I have played D&D since 1983. We never, accepted a negative modifier in Con. and always did 4d6 drop lowest. I know alot of old guys say otherwise, but I never played with anyone that did 3d6 down the line.
I wonder if most people prefer the race as class B/X default for OSE and OSE Advanced. I’ve gone back and forth on this and played in games that had both. I came up with my own version of this that does away with level caps for demi humans and use separate Race and Class.
You should look into those FriXion pens. They're erasable (to some extent). The only draw back I have had so far was that if I leave the paper in my car when it's above 100F, then the ink shows back up. That's how the original Rocketbook did their cleaning, microwave the book, then wipe it.
My group doesn't want to play D&D anymore (nor OSE) so I decided to solo-play, thanks for the series!
That’s heart-breaking! I hope you enjoy the solo series!

Just started watching this. I love playing OSE solo, the highly lethal rules make it really fun.

Awesome. Very glad to help. The dungeon crawl begins in the next session!
This is pretty cool. Glad I found your channel! 👍 I've not played OSE, but this sure brings back the memories!
I’m glad you found it too. OSE does a great job of capturing that nostalgia.
Thanks for making this so clear and easy to follow

This brings back watching you play Diablo at the Kappa Sigma house.
As you can see, I’m still about that nerd life 😂

Thanks for the help
Another option, plastic sleeves and dry rub markers those would probably be seen
I use these erasable pens, nice black ink, and don't leave any smudge on the paper when erased. Pilot Frixion 0.7mm Rollerball Black Pen
Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely need to keep the visuals clean and clear!

Nice. It’s fun to tinker until you find what works for you.

12 for save v wands is great for a 1st level. That's 45%. Not counting your Wis modifier.
This rocks! ❤
I always read the Holy Symbol as being required from the very beginning. What kind of cleric would NOT have the symbol of their deity? 😊
Sure. That tracks. Clerics need their god.
Where did you get your humongous OSE? Is that something you printed? I have not seen that format.
Apologies I found the comment on the session 0 where you made it from the PDF.
No need for apologies! I hope you are enjoying the series so far and I’m open to suggestions about what content you want to see explored!
Beave!!!!!!
Hey buddy!
