Though it might not be much, in campaign, Gelt and research giving halberds much more armor and the honest steel skill. They might be quite good into the late game. I wouldn't mind if Fate of Bjuna was nerfed into the ground for a bit or was made into a powerful debuff that would be used to prep an unit for an alpha strike, instead of just deleting Krinsom Killaz or Sword Masters.
In the tabletop Fate of Bjuna dealt hits equal to 2D6 minus the Target's toughness. Meaning that it was great against Infantry and Non-Monstrous cav. When it went off, the unit would also suffer from the stupidity rule for the rest of the game. Meaning that if you failed a leadership test before charging, they would instead blunder forward for half of their speed. Now, in table-top your caster could miscast. And end up tearing themselves apart. It has a high casting cost like it did in the base game. Alot of stuff has changed from Table-top. Purple sun of Xereus could instant-kill large models like Hydras. Personally, I think they could tone down on the damage some. And instead translate the stupidity rule into a long-time debuff like Rampage or something else.
if you ask me, it should have a % chance of killing the caster or something like that, making it riskier to use. Combine this with a high magic cost and people will think twice before using it. Making it more of a last resort kind of thing.
I love Warhammer. It's an awesome story. It's like the dark gritty version of lord of the rings. Now, I know that game of thrones is totally different from Warhammer. But I can't help that there are some similarities. In Warhammer Total War, you can form alliances, bribe, backstab or betray other factions/houses, demote someone, have someone assassinated kind of like game of thrones. I wish they made a t.v. series for Warhammer and kind of make it like game of thrones. It be awesome. Who agrees with me that they should make a t.v. franchise for this game?
I think they need to change Bjuna, not nerf, but rework. Make it something like Melkoth's, but better. Debuffs to vigor and melee stats (i mean...you are literally laughing to death, can even catch a breath - how are you gonna fight?). Damage - somewhat good, but not as much as it is right now, it's just a "delete" button for some units... P.S.Oh, and that bug with Morgur is just hilariously bad. Something on a "Throgg on a chariot" level.
In the tabletop Fate of Bjuna gave a unit the stupidity rule, which meant when they were given a charge order. They had a chance to ignore orders and instead continue straight forward.
AT LAST the halberds are now somewhat viable, I mean, they litteraly are what the empire army is know for ! Holding the line, cutting things to bloody remains or holding them in place to allow the faith and the gunpowder to help the steel !!
I'm really glad that the two things I like about the empire are good now, powder and pikes. Well. Halberds but they're kinda the same. Regardless, it's really cool.
OMG How cool would a Star Wars edition of Total War Warhammer be? Lord Palpatine vs Lord Yoda. Mace Windu or Skywalker hero vs Darth Vader or Darth Maul etc Jabba the hut, bobo fet, Solo, blasters, light sabers, droid destroyers Ewoks, Xwings, ATaAT's Speed bike cavalry, tantons, droids, sand people, OMG... Yes please. What do you guys think?
Do you think other halberd units (Black Guard, Temple Guard, Tomb Guard, Stormvermin, Chosen, Chaos Warriors) should have charge defense against all like Phoenix Guard and (now) Empire Halberdiers in order to set them apart from spears who just have charge defense against large? I think it would be a nice touch, making halberds a very nice *versatile* unit for all factions that have access to them.
not really no. a lot of Those units you listed are already versatile and commonly picked and on good factions, Empire Halberdiers got buffed because the Empire has been under performing for quite awhile now. I dont think every Halberd or faction that can field them needs it
While I'm always glad to see underused units become more viable, I feel the expert charge defence buff given to the Halberdiers is an improper one. Hear me out. Not from a balance point of view, because I think they are absolutely viable now, but more from a conceptual point of view. I personally associate expert charge defence with elite tier defensive units. Dwarven Lords and Phoenix Guard, units that will fight till the better end. Empire halberdiers are by no means ''elite'', they're basically spearmen with AP, and I feel like a 50/100 gold cost decrease plus the leadership buff would have been more fitting with the same result (becoming more cost-effective and more viable). Not to mention that I find it contradictory to the key themes of the Empire: average, but cheap and cost-effective troops. That is what I would do anyways. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see Empire slowly coming back in the power curve. The gunpowder units are a pleasure to watch.
Kaleb Arnold but those units have their perks chaos stormvermin black gaurd have high armor and better stats temple gaurd and tomb gaurd have shields empire halberdiers are just spearmen with ap
EHEC Patiënt i see your point but halberds are just ap spears they have 30 armour and no shields there extremely easy to deal with so giving them a good trait like charge defense against fair considering they trade horribly against most units
I like Fate of Bujna, Lore of Death is all about straight up assassinating models and such, so it makes sense for Lore of Death to have something dependable. I dont want warhammer to be nothing but "FUN" Balance changes and random ass spells that may or may not eat my own frontline whenever I use them. That has its place to be sure, but gotta have something that actually can be relied on.
By that logic neither was the tabletop game fun either. The solution to death-casters in tabletop was either sniping them out. Or dispelling their rolls. TW:W doesn't have dispelling for some reason.
Sunny D And since when has total war warhammer been balanced around tabletop? If you want to keep one aspect of the tabletop you have to keep all the other ones aswell, you can not park the bus halfway.
Exactly, which is why I find it weird that they didn't include dispelling for some reason. And most factions that went against Death casters usually had Life Casters, who could cast Regrowth to revive dead models to counter the effects of Bjuna. The Empire should get their two missing mages, and the Lizardmen/Elves should have access to all the non race-specific lores of magic. Allowing them to use life magic as a supportive tool.
Lore wise CA's Fate of Bjuna makes no sense as it was a spell that killed the weak, it literally makes people laugh themselves to death in the lore. In TT this meant that the target unit suffered 2d6 minus Toughness hits, so it was better at killing chaff. A way to change Fate could be to lower the damage (should still be more than Melkoths) but also have it reduce the melee attack and defense. The Lore of Death was never about straight up kill it was always with a twist: Spirit Leech was based on Leadership, Purple Sun was Initiative, and Caress of Laniph was Strength.
To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, to be late is to be unworthy. Being a dick whenever I heard that I always said then via the transitive property you're always late and so unworthy. Only in the case of Indy do I understand what they meant to teach me lol.
I think fate of bjuna is just too strong. When I have to always ask in my builds "will I be sad if it gets deleted by bjuna?" my builds end up going super wide and I just use bjuna myself. While this does win games in many match ups, it is way too meta defining and restrictive and boring. I have no issues with artillery because those need to be protected, need line of sight, and are pretty expensive.
To be fair, had the Beastmen player not brought FoB they would have lost the match much sooner. I'm no expert but I think they played well and had a solid army, I don't know what they could have done or brought that would have won them this game.
centigors definitely werent used that well, but thats kind of the point of ambushes is to force an opponent to make mistakes. so yeah I think he played pretty decently. hard to draw conclusions after one battle but I'd definitely be curious to see what very competitive players would bring in this matchup and how these two factions would do in a best of 10 or something
Yeah, you explained early on how his whole plan with the Centigors got screwed by your mindgames. My armchair general approach would be going cheap on the front lines and use it to tarpit the Empire infantry, thus denying the charge defense, which is a pretty big chunk of the Beastmen damage output.
Jerec 12 I know I'm not Indy but I'll put in something. I think Grimgor needs a speed buff, a little more melee defence, and a lower cost. I'm not sure if these would make him "viable" but he'd at least be playable imo.
empire will probably wreck beastmen this patch, just spam fully upgraded halberdiers which beat anything they send your way (including bestigors), plus your bows outrange theirs so that's not really an answer either.
Balthasar Gelt Volkmar the Grim Emperor Karl Franz, Elector Count of Reikland These men are giants, each one legends in their own right. Boris Todbringer is a legend as well, but I do agree that it is a shame that Boris alone seems to be used competitively.
Can someone please tell me what the fucking trait limit is for lords? And whats the absolute limit for legendary lord kill traits? I've googled this shit and can only find answers that date back to fucking 2017 and one thing is for fucking certain, the limit is NOT 15. People make trait guides left and right but fail to mention the one fucking question that has yet to be answered. WHAT. IS. THE. FUCKING. TRAIT. LIMIT? Ok, Now I'm cool, can someone please tell me?
Yeah Halberds are still total shit. It's as easy as that, no shields, very little dps, and wasted AP on most units. Better take spears with shields and add another reiksguard.
VERSATILE
Wholesome For Honor memes
When will you play Orcs again? :) And do you know if the doom diver catapult received the same buff in accuracy as the hellcannon?
IMO they should go all in with the broken animations for Morghur. Random weapon and animation every time.
Imagine Morghur with a Giant's club.
morghur biting an enemys torso and rolling around like a crocodile
Can't wait for the sequel: "Return of the One-Eye" XP
Though it might not be much, in campaign, Gelt and research giving halberds much more armor and the honest steel skill. They might be quite good into the late game.
I wouldn't mind if Fate of Bjuna was nerfed into the ground for a bit or was made into a powerful debuff that would be used to prep an unit for an alpha strike, instead of just deleting Krinsom Killaz or Sword Masters.
What kind of buffs does Gelt give for Halberds?
Extra armor, later in a campaign you can get halberds up to 60 or 70 armor. Greatswords can get pretty silly too.
Might try him out then. I assume he is more of a support lord?
he's a wizard so i'd assume so

So good to see halberds perform FOR THE EMPIRE!
Don’t understand why middenland isn’t a playable faction
It simple; CA cant monetize that dlc, and it too big dlc to make it just like Dawi addon they got last update. CA wont make middenland for free
Man Fate of Cheese is so stupid. They should just rework it so it does something else other than "Pick a unit and delete it LOL".
I think it's effect is fine, being a spell of the wind of death after all, but I think it's cost should be increased
I agree it’s so dumb, literally just chose which unit to take out of the damn match
if you ask me, it should have a % chance of killing the caster or something like that, making it riskier to use. Combine this with a high magic cost and people will think twice before using it. Making it more of a last resort kind of thing.
That would be amazing.
Fate of Bujna and Earth Blood are literally same ability but reversed, both need nerfing, or changing.
I love Warhammer. It's an awesome story. It's like the dark gritty version of lord of the rings. Now, I know that game of thrones is totally different from Warhammer. When you have a huge bias towards the empire and indypride uploads one to start your weekend.. *unzips*
Eka Stark right there with you. I'm 110% all about the Empire. HAIL KARL FRANZ AND PRAISE SIGMAR.
Eric L Sigmar preserve us..
This action has Karl Franz's consent.
I would like to see a build of the empire reinforcing the frontline with the new sigmar priests.
pretty pls?
Shameless plug, I fought a battle against Turin yesterday doing just that, keep an eye on his channel, should be up in a few days,
bwahaha that reiksguard knight at 07:12 xD just casually motorboatin his way through the ungors on a wave of ketchup not giving a s*** xD

Morgur wasnt feeling his cow stick today
Does my heart good to see the Empire become respectable again.
I just want to see my boy Franz viable again ;~;
I'm really glad that the two things I like about the empire are good now, powder and pikes. Well. Halberds but they're kinda the same. Regardless, it's really cool.
The halberdiers did way better than the spears! Awesome.
EXPERT CHARGE DEFENCE FOR DAYZZZZZ

ALL THE BUFFS TO THE EMPIRE. ALL OF THEM.
That chik fila joke hahaha ah man
Did anyone see that Volleygun crewman just fucking casually brawl kick the Beastmen HQ at 7:02?

Kyle Vidauri fate of boring is a crutch for weak players. Deleting units with no skill required is neither fun nor balanced.

Life is good.
Great video hope you keep doing warhammer 2
I love that Boris is basically da greatest, Frans is like so 2016.

I just downloaded call of warhammer BOTET and I am loving it.
Are you going to play some Total War Thrones of Britannia on your Channel?
89 kills on one halberdier unit? They must be lead by Markus Kruber.
so how does the hellblaster and the organ gun compare now?
To be fair, had the Beastmen player not brought FoB they would have lost the match much sooner. I'm no expert but I think they played well and had a solid army, I don't know what they could have done or brought that would have won them this game.

Jesus haven’t played tw2 in ages
I love halberdiers in table top
What changes were made to them ?
Is there a frog in the background at 4:00?
*'Completely flat hooved' 3:32
For the empire
when do you stream :) ?
indy what buffs would you give grimgor to make him a viable pick?
Jerec 12 I know I'm not Indy but I'll put in something. I think Grimgor needs a speed buff, a little more melee defence, and a lower cost. I'm not sure if these would make him "viable" but he'd at least be playable imo.
knockdown resistance or immunity would be pretty damn useful. seeing him get thrown around by monsters is kind of jarring
milkandcookiesTW I think the biggest problem is his health take him to 6k and increase his knockdown. Plus a unique aura effect.
I just noticed borris griffin does not get the bloodroar passive that general of the empire and karl get. Bug or intended?
Bloodroar would combined with the White Cloak of Ulric and give -12 LD, so definitely intentional.
yeah as Adam said, Bloodroar on top of his already pretty impressive kit could very easily be OP on a Terror Causing flying monster with Regeneration
empire will probably wreck beastmen this patch, just spam fully upgraded halberdiers which beat anything they send your way (including bestigors), plus your bows outrange theirs so that's not really an answer either.
Well, now the Empire can literally make "boxes" again. Pray Sigmar that players don't use this tactics with a Jade wizard...
Awesome battle! Too bad you can only like once...
Bjuna is still brutal.
I LOVE GRIFFONS
PLS CA GIB VALTEN AND ELSPETH
Also nice video.
how does boris have a griffon mount everytime i recruit him in my campaign he only gets a horse or some lame shit
I am kinda bored to see Boris all the time :/ But i cant argue he is the most competetive
Gamer of Slaanesh Cant be BOred of the BOris
how dare u
Balthasar Gelt
Volkmar the Grim
Emperor Karl Franz, Elector Count of Reikland
These men are giants, each one legends in their own right. Boris Todbringer is a legend as well, but I do agree that it is a shame that Boris alone seems to be used competitively.
I'm more of a fan of Karl Franz but I do like Boris.
Man, as a beastmen fan I'm so sick of morghur too.
Ah yes, Morghur the Hentaihand
TODDY!
I still think Empire might use more buffs - even Bretonnia got better treatment then proud people of Sigmar... And this is kinda lame.
I'm still not beastmen can win without shadowgave
gg
gg mate, was a fun set of 3 games. ill be doing the chaos vs dark elf game soon
Why is Boris better than Karl Franz ?
regeneration is the biggest part, but his debuffs are quite strong as well
What's even more boring than Fate of Bjuna is any of the healing abilities. You need Fate of Bjuna to counter that.
uhhh. yeah. sure
Is there any way to get boris without buying the beastmen dlc? I'd never actually wanna play as beastmen.
Can someone please tell me what the fucking trait limit is for lords? And whats the absolute limit for legendary lord kill traits? to bad these halberds arent broken like in med 2
'Tis the engine I say.
All the best members of the TWW community agree FoB is hot garbage. I don't understand why they don't change it.
First
Yeah Halberds are still total shit. It's as easy as that, no shields, very little dps, and wasted AP on most units.
Better take spears with shields and add another reiksguard.
Boris is OP, barely took any damage. And then you say fate of bjuna is boring, what about boring boris.
