Amish, thank you very much. I went to an English medium school and the only exposure I got to India’s heritage was from stories I heard in our ancestral village in Bihar. I am grateful to you for opening up some of these vistas for me. Looking forward to a lot more.

When you were talking about Nalanda University, something came to my mind. You know why we had so many scholars, scientists and inventors during that time but it's significantly less now? Our professor once told us that this is because at that time, gurukuls, universities, etc were hubs of not just learning theory but experimenting as well. Students were encouraged to research and learn on their own. Along with the theoretical knowledge of various subjects, they most importantly learnt how to live a fulfilling life.
Nowadays, marks are deducted in exam even when you solve a math problem correctly but with a different method. The worst thing the invaders did was ruining the ancient education system. That is the root of most of the problems Indians face today.

You are thinking as if there was significant freedom at that point beyond religious rules. Our religion sort of constrained all innovation because hard work was limited to poor people. All the scholars were only theoretical tigers with no interest in doing things that require something earthly like metal working.

If you don't know about your great past history how are you going to move forward in the future. We Bharatas who think acknowledging our glorious history is not important are ignorant fools the Bharatas of today needs to know about this glorious history of Bharat.China always aknowledges their past history which was not as advanced or ancient as Bharat's yet they promote this to the world such a proud people they are. That is why they are where they are today a nation moving into the future wanting to claim back their glorious past. 🙏

It still is a mystery to all as to how a few invaders from Britain were able to rule India which had a huge population? weren't we able to defend ourselves?

When you mention historical facts you should also mention and credit of those regions of the India. India was not one country during the period you talk about it was ruled by many kingdom or empire. Golden Bird name got because of southern Tamil Kingdom of Chera-Chola-Pandya's maritime trade with Romans from Muziri port of Cheras, Poompuhar-Nagapattinam ports of Cholas and Korkai & Tuticorin ports of Pandyas! Once Arabian sea and Indian ocean is called Chola's lake, so you can imagine how good chola's are using the oceans around them for trade! Also Damascus steel is exported from Tamil Nadu and Srilanka and found ancient steel making foundries in TN! How west try to blackout India, same way the North Indians blackout South India!
South East Asia up to Japan including China, Korea, Philipines all are highly influenced by Tamil traders and you find Tamil inscription and Tamil Temples in these countries!
