i was 17 in 1977.. led at the silverdome.. i was the biggest show i had been to.. getting smashed at the dome getting two ticks. in a mob of 5,000 nuts. just smashed at the four windows . i went into the mob at 7am. it was cold ,it rained all night . i slept in a 71 convertible chev. at the dome. i got out of the death defying crowd alive with my two ticks at 8 am.. so i waited for my ride . till he got out of the hell.. we were like we went thru that !! never again.. i did go to three page plant shows. too.. one plant show.. fun..
My first zep concert was January 1969,2nd row orchestra.Went out of boredom.I didn't have a gig that night...my wife talked me into going to The Filmore..we didn't recognize the LZ name,as it was only their 2nd concert in America and I had no desire to hear Iron Butterfly!! Well Zep came out first(the unknown) band.,no singles out,no album...After seeing them from the front orchestra and getting hit with JP sweat(smelled like Pantene) watching and hearing them...I was so blown away,after not playing for over 2 years,having just gotten out of the army....I stopped playing for around 6 months!!! Had never seen or heard anyone like Jimmy!!!.I wasn't alone...Both Triumph and Butterfly refused to go on stage after Zeppelin!!! I think we all understand why by now (lmao lol)...Bill Graham was uncontrollable and threatened to sue them,see that they would never play in a decent venue in the US...sue their parents...he was furious!!! They would not play after Zeppelin!!!.I noticed as the Fillmore emptied out and for months,years after that night,both bands disappeared!!! Probably couldn't get a gig in MY FATHERS PLACE...a great small venue on long island....I always got there early to talk with Dave Mason or whoever,b4 he was murdered by the police.Hey,I would never follow Zeppelin on any stage for decades!!! No one did.The best happiest I ever saw Jimmy after John death,was at Jones Beach with the Black Crowes...He said he was so happy to be able to play 10 YEARS GONE,IN THE LIGHT,ACHILLES LAST STAND and others,with ALL the guitar parts,the way he wrote it!!!! WHAT A SHOW THAT WAS!!! FANTASTIC.JIMMY AND THE BLK CROWES....WOW!!!

I was so lucky to be there. This tour smoked the '95 run. This was the closest to Led Zeppelin they could of gotten. I remember leaving the building and the entire crowd was still screaming as we left. Got back to the car, and thought, "I just saw the best concert I've ever seen"....and it still is. I was 13th row on the floor, right in front of Jimmy. He was clearly feeling a lightning bolt of creativity, as he was without question, on top of his game from '98-'01. Saw him with the Crowes in the summer of 2000 and he still had it going. I think Robert declining to continue with him, took the wind out of his sails. Anyway, still the best show I've ever seen. Cheers!!
Too bad you never got to see them in 60's & 70's, I did 176 times. They are the greatest live band ever,& they " ruined " me for all others. I'm glad they did!!!!!!! I got to see 70 Page/Plant shows, and I left each one with tears of joy running down my face!!! Something I thought I'd never see!!!!!!! LedHed Steven
my friend and her best friend were upgraded from last row upper deck to first row front and center by the roadies. I heard P&P did that every show this tour.

I think they were shaking off the rust during the 95 tour. 96 and obviously 98 beat the shit out of the earlier tours performance wise.
