OMG! How good is Gil Shaham! The accuracy, the energy, the sense of humor, the depth! How can he be that good??? He has Perlman's warmth, Stern's depth, Hafetz' accuracy, and Menuchin's "utter soul." Gil is just THAT good! And what an amazing showpiece to demonstrate all these! And thanks for Claudio to recognize this brilliance and move aside. Love it!!!

One of the all time greatest performances of this piece IMO

I liked how Shaham handled those treacherous high notes at 12:24 with one finger.

When I played with Adele Anthony some years back, she asked if I had ever written anything for two violins because her husband was a violinist, too. I didn't know it was Shaham. :-)

I have watched his Bartok concerto in Hong Kong, it was amazing. And I asked him for a signature, and I think he is a pretty nice person (cuz it just for 2 minutes, may s actually he had a bad temper) but at least he is friendly

Gil , we are waiting for your Shostakovich, surely one that can show us all it can be done gracefully, elegantly with less exaggerated drama 😊

Minute 6 sounds as happy as a Strauss walze! Haha! He did not get the „character“, Id say……a HAPPY Brahms…sonny boy of violinists.
