Thank you to Ikazuchi for suggesting this Dragoon fight. It was very rare and it too me hours to trigger though. th-cam.com/users/Toshinegawafeatured There were also a few others who commented on my Ramza having a different appearance as well. Thank you all again for the viewers and members as well!
The Dragoon is definitely my favorite melee unit. Nothing like playing like Kain from Final Fantasy IV. Once you master the class, you can just jump all over the board.
Totally. I gotta replay the FF4 remake and the After Years remake as well sometime. 👍And playing as Kain in Dissidia 012 was a real treat with his Jump ability too.
@@benjaminbomberry3782 Nice good stuff. I mostly play on my PC so I'm looking at some Steam versions. I did play FF4 when it was rerleeased in some collection on the PS1 it was a great time.
For all of the replays I've done of this game, I've never tried doing a run making a party of other FF Characters (like a Kain dragoon). That seems like a fun idea!
One thing I never knew about FFT: A battle layout will depend on which direction you come from on the map. Example: If you come from Golgorund execution site to Barius Valley you can possibly encounter a Tiamat. That’s the only way to get that rare battle.
back when this game first came out getting tiamats at barius hill was like a huge secret, i was young but this came out like almost as a release title for the ps1, i remember one of my neighbors swaring he saw hydras at barius hill, and an older kid kept saying no i doubt it i beat the game this and that, and then we actually got one. I remember everyone thinking deep dungeon was the only place to get them
Man I never knew that, I dip back into this game every so often, its very time consuming process I find doing a playthrough. Never knew that about the encounters
The hardest fight I had in FFT was that where there was an army of chocobos of all colors. Given the lv scale, how fast they are and the long range ability of the colored ones, that one was hell.
I came to the comments hoping I’d find someone who experienced this as well! It was shortly after launch of the game, but I remember a random battle where there were a dozen of them at start. They obliterated me. Only saw it once and never again.
Hi thank you for the comment and question. So I messed around and modded my own save file with Lion Editor to give Ramza what he has and his look. Hope that answers your question. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
Four hours?!! I believe all areas, from each direction, have SOME form of "rare" battle. I'd be amazed to see a few others. However, I do understand if they take THAT LONG to trigger, it's not really worth the attempt.
Some are really cool and some aren't according to the guides. So I may just go after the cool rare battles or some that look appealing and interesting and perhaps eventually all very rare battles lol. It did take a long time but it was worth it in the end. A lot of people enjoyed this one. 👍
Hey, you found it! Yeah, it's really a shame that these random Human Guest units don't offer to join. With how ridiculously rare some of these unique battles are, you should get some sort of reward for encountering them. Like the Guns from the rare Chemist and Orator fight
Thanks for the comment and suggesting this. Although this took many hours lol. And I agree. If there was a Chocobo and Swine who offer to join us. I feel more of these guests should have that same option.
Human enemy units that appeared on random battle can be recruited by using orator skill change of heart or something (forgot the skill name). The skill that turn enemy a traitor. The hit rate is so low though
Thank you so much Lady Loki for the wonderful comment! I am glad you enjoy my work and the videos. More FFT always to come. I have a lot more ideas and such I want out.
im a huge fan of final fantasy tactics which is why this showed up for me on youtube...but i dont understand how ramza has sword play is it the psp version where the dark knight is a class or is this using final fantasy hacktics?

This battle is only available in Chapter 4, so if you go searching for it before then, you'll be searching for a long time. Second, funnily enough, this is NOT actually the Mandalia Plains special rare battle, its a fun and unique, but still regular, battle! The actual special battle for Mandalia includes having multiple (potentially, its random) Guest Dragons against a Red Dragon and several Blue Dragons. This battle is also from Brigand's Den and only available in Chapter 4.

That isn't a rarity thing. In the original PS1 version, having a FF8 save file on your memory card would give a chocobo as the first pet. I don't know if you have to look at the file from the save menu, but that and a couple other games had content in Legend of Mana unlocked by having save files on your memory card.
Ok, there's clearly something I'm missing out here. How is it possible for Ramza to have All Swordskill techniques?
