    Hi guys, welcome
    Today we are going to try and eliminate the torque twist on the Traxxas, TRX 4M
    I’m gonna be showing you what I have tried and how it actually affect the overall performance
    In the last video when the Traxxas TRX4M bronco was pulling the trailer, the Torque twist what is unbearable.
    So it was time to do something about it.
    By the end of this video, the torque twist no longer affected it without the trailer, but I’m still gonna have to figure out something as when it’s pulling the trailer it still likes to do it.
    If you guys wanna know what I did, you’re gonna have to watch the video 😅
    Thanks for watching and don’t forget to like comment and subscribe guys and girls.

    I found that overdrive on the front axle helps a lot as the truck pulls more than it is pushed from the back. You can't eliminate twist entirely, but i found this to be the most effective

      Now that is definitely some awesome information! as I've also been doing some testing and realized that by putting overdrive on the front axle, it really helped a lot for the torque twist, and for the overall performance.

    Been dealing with twist for a while and honestly, for whatever reason, it finally went away (mostly, really gotta look now) when I did the interior. I did a full interior with fender wells and the twist has almost entirely gone. I tried weight all over the place, every shock/oil combo I could come across, doubled the springs, etc. but still there. Something about doing the interior just made it almost totally go away. Also when I installed the Injora metal bumpers that helped a good bit too.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I ended up going back to 53 mm shocks, and I set the shocks up with a bit of preload on the rear right and left front, since then I have pretty much eliminated all the torque twist and body lean.
      I will be fitting interiors soon, so I'll see how that affects the whole rig.
      Thank you so much for sharing this information as I'm sure it will help quite a few people that read this comment.

    Have you considered a sway bar?
    They aren’t to hard to make.
    Or fabricate a hitch off the rear differential housing.
    Put that trailer weight just on the axle. Steers alot better with weight off body. I made one for my Trx4m.
    Changing the hitch location won’t stop torque twist though.
    The sway bar will make a difference.

    Yes, torque twist can be a bit of a problem! But if you look at, for example, motorsport, they have a lot of torque twist in both tractor and truck pulling. And you have to consider that your trailer was very heavy. Thanks for another great video!

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah definitely! The trailer is heavy, plus the Rock van 💪💪💪
      And it is only when it's going uphill on flat ground and downhill it's okay

    IMO, real world pull rigs are designed/equipped for towing.
    Off road rigs are equipped for off road, climbing, mud etc.
    I don’t believe based on physics that you can get the same rig with the same setup to do both real well. Maybe a couple of bails of hay on a light trailer may get better results. But your doing heavy towing with the van on a twin x trailer.
    If you had a TRX6 doing the same thing I’m sure things would look different.
    Secondly have you considered an adjustable rear sway bar to cut down on torque twist?
    I’ve made plenty for my 1/10 race cars.
    And last, your rig looks pretty cool with all the stuff ladened in the body. But to me thats just asking for torque twist. Make a 6x6, weight it down, add plenty of motor with low gears, stiffer tires and that sway bar. That Rock van will be flapping in the breeze LOL 😂

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi bro, they are awesome little trucks especially after a couple of upgrades! The reduction gear kit definitely allows you to have a nice slow crawl, but to have an even smoother and more controlled crawl I am running bearings throughout the vehicle, metal helical gears in the axles and the 48T motor from Injora.
      I recommend you grab a complete gearbox with motor from Injora with the metal reduction gears and all the bearings already included, you will have a lot more low-end power and still keep most of the wheel speed.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I experienced a very similar problem with the shocks from Injora, I recommend running at least a 50wt oil, and if you can find some stiffer springs or use the original springs but stretch them if you're running the 59 mm shocks.
      The original springs have enough power to actually keep the body up and push it back up.
      If you look at my most recent video on setting up the shocks, if you're having so much trouble with a rebounding then follow the instructions on how to have preload on your shock.
      That will definitely help.
      Let me know if you find the video if not I will share it to you.
      I hope this helps cuz I know it's very frustrating! I really wish somebody would make some stronger springs.

      Duh that's why I put two springs on it!!! if you actually watch the video!!! The oil was just to slow down the movement so it doesn't roll when throttling or reversing as it slows down the movement!
      And if you watch the video you would see that it worked out perfectly fine and the torque twist is almost completely gone only when pulling the trailer which is completely normal as the trailer with the car is heavier than the Bronco!!
      Still really appreciate you watching and commenting but try watching the video before you give some smart remarks!!

    I don't have any torque twist and I still use the stock shocks on my orange Bronco...

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's awesome! Maybe it's because the original springs are a lot harder than the ones provided by Injora!!! And maybe just possibly your body doesn't have many accessories on it!!! so it doesn't weigh very much!! Therefore not causing body lean or much torque twist!
      And it also depends on how much brass upgrades you have got fitted, the heavier the rig the more prone to torque twist, which results in body lean! Especially with the soft springs provided by Injora!!

    If you have the option to do so, try the 10th scale desert lizard springs. Either the 100mm or 110mm work. I did it for my bronco, works great.

      Injora sells thicker springs for the 1/10th scale. I assume that will fit as well?

      Hello sir did you put them desert lizard springs on your trx4m defender and what shockers are you using please I have the 59mm injora shockers on my trx4m bronco but I've done the thinker oil and doubled up the springs but I still have torque twist so annoying and I don't tow any trailers at all. Am running both sets of springs that come come with the injora shockers the soft ones and the slightly thicker ones just the same as this bloke did in this video but it didn't work for me please help would be great please and thank you

      @@jesseedgell8698 I am also having the same problem! It's a lot better after I fitted the two springs but like you say it still has a tendency to lean over!!!
      They recommend using the springs from the 1/10 desert lizard shocks
      I still haven't been able to give this a try.
      Also somebody else mentioned buying springs from Injora for the 1/10 shocks but I can see how they would fit on these small shocks.
      I will keep messing around and if I find a solution I will let you know ASAP.

    It looks like you might get more clearance if you flip your rear bottom links.

    You’ll never get rid of it, unless you get portal axels

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep couldn't agree more this is the best I can get it!!
      Next step is definitely getting some portal axles.
      That's why I love my Traxxas TRX4'S as they don't have this problem due to having portal axles.

      I have the Treal portal axles on one of my defenders. They do not solve the torque twist. The heavier oil and heavier spring was more effective. The one nice thing is that the axles come with heavy brass outer portal covers. This stopped the wheels from raising when turning to the driver side. This has been my experience. I will make a vid demonstrating this!!!👍👍👍
