My cat Cleo was like that. I rescued him one rainy night up in Flagstaff Arizona. He'd been abandoned and found his way into our garage, a beat up little ginger and white kitten just barely weened. I thought he was a frog at first until he crawled out of the dark practically yelling at me for help. We loved him for 13 years, and he always meowed constantly when we came back from somewhere. He was the only pet I ever really wept for when he passed away. Pets really do change the lives of those who love them.
OMG!!!!!YES!!!! He really, TRULY is a TOTAL daddies boy!!!!! He absolutely WORSHIPS the ground his daddy walks on!!! I think that's sooo AWESOME and WONDERFUL!!!!
he is a siamese cat. siamese pick their human and become super attached/devoted to that one person. Laz has picked the daddy. siamese need a lot of interaction and love.
The cat, Lazarus, was actually hugging the man while in his lap. It is great to see Lazy Spazzy finally calm down after seeing the father of the family.
If anyone says that cats don't love their humans show them this video. Clearly Lazzy is attached to his family. Also cats tend to be more sensitive to a change in environment and routine than say dogs are. I usually leave my cats in the same place and have someone feed them daily, but even then they still are very upset when we are gone for long and are very happy when we return. Cats may not show their love in the ways dogs do, but they are very loving!
I have a black cat that is the same way when I leave. When I get back, even if it's only been an hour or two, he's very vocal about me being home and wants a lot of love and pets before he's satisfied.
I am the most fortunate of men to have been accepted and adopted by 16 cats, all are rescues, all live indoors to protect the outdoor wild life and to make sure that they are never again exposed to cars, parasites or people who would harm them They range in size from Bootsie Found Cat who is blind and brain damaged and weighs 6 pounds to Larry Fuzzy Feet the Norwegian Forest cat that was found starving under the porch of an old farm house who now weighs 27 pounds.Last summer I was presented with a litter of kittens in my basement from an abandoned kitty who came to my outdoor buffet,This summer, two little balls of fur showed up to dine and decided that the basement looks like a good place to stay. Welcome Jimi Three Spots and Luna Marchino, I believe ,that we are put here to be stewards of the animals, and that this is god's test To see if we have hearts and worthy of paradise.
You should have strong bones LOL. It has been proven that the vibrations from a cats pur have healing effects on theirs and our bones. Get a bone injury and you will be better to expose yourself to a cat close to you and purring. We are meant to be companions.
I adore this cat. He is so affectionate. You guys are lucky to have him as part of your family and he is blessed to have you as parents and siblings. He came back from the dead to love you all.
Awww, that cat is a daddy's cat for sure. The second it sees his dad it stops yowling and calms down. That just melts my heart, and you call it a frozen kitty... (and yes I know why it's actually called Frozen Kitty. I was making a joke).
Fur babies are just like little kids. Our cat, Sunshine, has a very dominant personality, but softens up whenever she cuddles with her Papa. Same way your Laz relaxes on your lap. Thanks for sharing your story!
People that don't have experience with cats don't realize how empathetic that they can be. My cat showed up at my place when he was 4 months old. That was 10 years ago and he won't come to any human but me. That's part of the reason that I let him outside for hours at a time! Much love to Laz and his humans!😻
Brandon, please understand this: you are THE God emperor of Laz's universe. Everyone else is DIRT. If you ever have to go away again, leave a t-shirt that you have worn for him to sleep on. That lady probably did the best she could. But she isn't you.
+Sandra Nelson That is such a brilliant idea, and I'm sure a no brainer to seasoned animal lovers but it would have never occurred to me! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the suggestion! I love all the great info and insight we've been able to gather here :)
+Branden Bingham Perhaps a small, ticking, alarm clock as well. (Just don't set the alarm or poor Lazzy will hit the ceiling! LOL!) Make a bed and put the clock under a blanket. I think it reminds him of the sound of a beating heart.
It also helps to have a companion animal. When my cat is upset, my dog comes right over to comfort her.And vice-versa.Yesterday, my dog (who was minding her own business) got attacked by the new neighbors' pit-bull.I put her in the tub and ran the water to check for wounds; and my cat came in the bathroom to see if she was ok.My cat does not like water.
Awwww....too precious. Lazzie!!!! Please don't secretly plot diabolical kitty revenge on your family for leaving you. You're too good for it. And too adorable. Fight the temptation, Lazzie, please.
Yes, my girl cat sulks when I leave her and her brother for more than a day or two. I usually take them both with me, and they have pretty much gotten use to travel (though like most old folks the older they get the less tolerant they get), but when I leave them and come back? She sulks and ignores me for a few hours till I am forgiven, then she sticks to me like white on rice!
This is one reason why, as a pet-sitter, I insist on staying at the families home to take care of the pet while their gone. I find that it's so much more relaxing and comfortable for the pet to be in an environment that they feel safe in, and one that they are familiar with. The owners always look so relieved when I tell them this. My only question: why is it people always have rock hard mattresses in their guest bedroom? So uncomfortable to sleep on lol.
I just wanted to say that it's a joy to know that there are people who really love animals , I also have two cats that I have saved when they were kittens , and I love them so much
I agree. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing an animal who is loved and comes from a good home. There are too many people in this world that don't respect animals enough. I love seeing dogs and cats in good, loving homes. We have two stray kitties that adopted us and we couldn't be happier. We couldn't have found more relaxed, well behaved and adorable cats if we tried.
well a few days later here comes a little grey and white cat, not as big as an adult and not as little as a kitten. She stayed around for about 3 or 4 days. I did not feed her. She wouldn't leave, so I asked her did she want me to be her mama. She meow back to me. I haven't had a cat in 15 years. My boy Felix was my baby. I vowed no more! Wrong! Here I go to the store and get what she needs. Expensive!!!!!!! Well the rest is history. I still have her. I took her to be spayed, shots even though she don't go out, she still has her claws. I love her dearly!!!!!!!!😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺
Aww, cute and upset Laz! I think you should get him a proper pet carrier because I notice the blue carrier looks somewhat small for Laz to move around. You may find that carrier at a bargain or discount store if it is available.
+Frozen Kitten Is Lazzy scheduled for his "surgery" yet? Please do, because if not neutered, they will spray all over the house. it's also healthier for them.
yeah we took a stray cat in - the vet wouldn't neuter him until had him for several months - he wasn't chipped and wasn't terribly well, had been dumped. Sprayed everywhere, could smell it for a year after! Only lived 9 months then the cancer took him, was spoiled rotten though and remained soppy as hell right up to the end even though must have been in pain.. Reckon there's a breeder in this area, that's where he came from - I wish the authorities would regulate these things better. All animals used for breeding should be chipped and properly registered so can trace back genetic defects..who knows how many kittens he fathered that may only have a short and painful life?
OMG the title made me cry...Please don't frighten him like this again...Every time he meowed I cried...I have three fur babies who are more than family...Poor Laz...it's alright Daddy's back...:)
Yep we only put a cat in cattery the once, he apparently didn't eat for 3 days though we left his usual cat food and bedding.. felt so guilty after that we didn't leave him for long and arranged cat sitter to pop round.
I too left my cat at a Vet / Kennel thinking he would be fine because they were vets.. 4 days later I picked him up and they told me he didn't eat for 4 days. They didn't call me or anything. When I got home he stunk so bad. He looked horrific. He didn't eat or drink that day so the next day I took him to my vet and they tried to give him a pill, he threw it up. They gave him a shot of water. I took him home, still no eating or drinking. I took him to the vet every day for 5 days for shots of water to keep him alive because the vet told me when a cat chooses to stop eating there isn't anything they can do. My 5th day I had his crate on the floor and a puppy ran up and scared him. The puppy scared him straight back to reality. When I got him with a sick skinny cat he started eating again. He is a 6 lb cat so you can image what he looked like. My vet said some cats are fine in a kennel (cat sitter) and yours is not. The said bring in a sitter. I now leave an extra large litter box (2) and bowls of food on two floors and bowls of water everywhere. He was fine when I got home. Hard lesson to learn about your cat, my x-stray.
You can hear he's very unhappy. The same sound I heard from a cat in a carrier bag in the train. His (or her) owner went to the toilet and left the poor animal for all of 5 minutes...
He is a beautiful cat! I'm grateful he has a loving home! He's so happy to see his family! Daddy, you did CPR on me for an hour, trying to warm me up, you saved me! That's why I love you so much!!
Always amazes me that those who have never been lucky enough to be owned by a cat don't realise that they do miss their hoomans 😉🐾. Just shows how much he loves you guys 👍🏼😻
We picked up two lost kittens a few months ago as winter was hitting. They were emaciated and desperate enough to follow me while I was taking a late night stroll. I took them in and they're now the most affectionate cats I've ever known.
all i can say is thank God for people like You. He is much better off with people than with his former owner. you can tell he is loved, what a cutie cat.
You are a wonderful fur parent! Also a wonderful parent to your kids. Thank you for being a model.of compassion to them by being kind to helpless animals. God bless you!
Awwwwww!♡ Lazzie you're SUCH a nice kitty! 👍 Last month I was in the hospital for a week and my kitty Nellie stayed at my grandma's house. I never been greeted in a better way before! Grandma said she hadn't even meowed when I was gone 😢 So she talked soooo much when I came to get her! She had so much to talk about. (To be honest we're still catching up actually) Good job Lazzie and your amazing owner!!!👍💖🐱
Water Loukiria Sadly I wasn't allowed to bring any kitties with me 😢 hehe And I think the car ride would have been too long for her, as I stayed in a hospital in a different city.
My neighbour rescued a kitten too and she shows the same behaviour. She only feels save and comfortable close to him. Cats always remember their saviors.
He is so happy being home and being loved, see his eyes closing? That is a great sign of how relaxed and happy he is now that everything is back to normal.
Next vacation, you might get a house sitter, someone who will either check on him and the house a few times a day or even stay overnight keeping an eye on the house and him while your away. Being in a different environment might have been too much for him...he might do better if he's home even if your not able to be there for a few days.
+Frozen Kitten I'm owned by a household zoo...my furry overlords let me know what's acceptable when it comes to vacation "abandonments" lol. Oh goodness, the looks if I'm gone for 10 hours, let alone over night!
Lol! Years ago we put our Himmie cat in a room and friend came and fed and loved him every day. SOOOO glad I put a plastic lining over the bed, because the shirt that I put on top of that (that smelled like me) was promptly pee'd on several times over! He told us exactly what he thought about us leaving him there!
Laz was so friendly and sweet even though he missed his daddy and was in an unfamiliar place. Such a well-behaved cat! He must be so loved! Thank you for loving him and caring for him so well!
this video nearly brought me to tears. I have a cat myself and whenever we go on trips for a few days, we're always conflicted about leaving her alone. So I can clearly relate to this video for sure.
Read the description please the owners wrote. Laz was left with a neighbor who loves cats. Maybe Laz was in a separate suite because the other cats didn't get along with Laz. Laz had food, litter box, warm comfy lace to sleep and Windows. This was so much better than boarding Laz. Laz would have been in a small cage if they boarded him. The only thing different I would have done was leave some music on or the TV, when I'm gone even for a short time I do this.
I just found out the other day about him passing. I bawled like a baby because this happened to us in 2020 also. Our cat had very much the same connection with us, we nursed him back to health (he wasn't brought back from the brink though- trophy to Laz there!) Our hearts and giant hugs to all of Laz's family. I still get signs that my Freddie watches over us and I hope you all can still feel Lazarus with you in some way. One thing's for sure, the whole world got a chance to love him. Thank you for sharing him with us. Love you, Lazarus
Definitely a mutual admiration going on here! I love how this grown man gushes all over this little furkid, calling him Lazzie Spazzy is just too cute!!
Next time get someone to stay at your home so he doesn't have to be displaced. cats HATE change! It is very upsetting to them. I am moving in a few weeks with my 2 and while I know they will adjust I feel bad because they are going to be very upset. :-(
+Laurie Bryson I did have someone come to my home to watch my cat when we went on vacation. She did the same thing as the cat in this video, hid under the bed and was very made at us when returned.
+Rachel Brown Why so defensive? I happen to not only have cats but I am also a pet/house sitter and keeping pets in their familiar surroundings is always preferable to kenneling them or boarding them out. Being removed from their homes causes a lot of stress that is not necessary by having someone come to them in the comfort of their own surroundings.
+Rachel Brown No need for that. They saved his life, theirs were the first faces he saw when he came round. Maybe that is imprinted deep in his psyche. Cats DO hate change, it is preferable if you can find someone to care for them in your own home if you can. No one is telling them what to do.
I am in love with your kitty. It SO reminds me of when my husband and I went to Niagara falls 3 years ago and left our cow kitty Grissom with our daughter. She works and said he spent almost the entire time under our bed and when we got home he was meowing plaintively like Laz. Laz is really a beautiful cat.
Cats aren't social the same way humans and dogs are. Most get very upset by any change. They can't understand why you would leave your shared territory, unless you were dead.
Best thing to do, is to leave him at home, on his territory, and have somebody move in or come twice a day to feed and check on him... Less traumatising... Cats don't take well being removed from their environment... Also, that carrier? So not appropriated for cat behavior! It's opened all over and doesn't allow the cat to feel safe... As for the closed litter box? Irk! Cats have a sense of smell 50 to 70% better than us!... Normally cat behaviorists recommend large opened litter boxes and it's one for each cat, plus one. So, you should have two, placed in different rooms... You want to learn about cats? Go Watch Jackson Galaxy. He is awsome!
+E Gagnon Not all cats need/nor want a 'closed' carrier. Yes, it is helpful for shy/anxious cats. Some cats however are quite confident and enjoy watching the scenery. It would depend upon the cat weather they want an 'open' or 'closed' travel carrier-saying one type isn't good based on how much they can see out is Not smart. If you watch Jackson Galaxy you should know by now it depends on the cat-they're individuals.
+crazycatlady39 I was talking about THIS particular cat that seems nervous and anxious. Look at his body language. His body is close to the ground, tail low, pupils are fully dilated, his meowing shows stress.
+E Gagnon Ok, True. But your comment doesn't mention this specific cat when you talk about carriers. You start by saying he should have left the cat at his home, then you talk about cats in general not liking to be removed from their environment, and then you talk about this cat again with his carrier and litter box. You went from a specific cat to cats in general then back to this specific cat. It's hard to follow because you referred to cats in general then didn't restate you were now talking about a specific cat again; so it sounded like cats in general was what you still were talking about.
+crazycatlady39 Sorry if my message was confusing... I was referring to catS' behavior in general to explain my point about Lazarus... English is a second language to me. I'm French speaking.
What a beautiful Flame Tip. And I'm not surprised about hiding, flame tips are part of the Siamese family and generally only like their family, or one person in the family they bond to. They'll do ok around other people, but aren't comfortable or happy away from their homes or person.
I was lucky enough to adopt my adorable, darling Queenie, who was abandoned and found by my grandchild, who brought her straight to me. She had fleas, the mange, and was very suspicious and wary of me; however, with loving care, talking, lots of hugs and kisses, which she didn't want at first, I'm now awakened each morning with a kiss and lots of heavy purring, even jumping on my lap when I get up and visit the toilet. When I think of what my little darling went through -- she was found sleeping on an old blanket in an old truck -- I thank God that Zoe found her! Oh yes, I forgot, she's pregnant. We will get through that and she will be fixed, but I would never abandon her!!!!
Awww, look how much he loves his Daddy!!
Right?! I didn't hear a peep when he was with Daddy lol.
Xoch à
Can't say we blame him. His daddy saved him from a freezing grave.

Oh, my god! You are the frozen kitty! I remember you. I am so happy to see you again here.
His face was like, "I am never gunna let go of daddy!"

Lazarus loves you so much! He's adorable! Meow 💗
Hermetic Kitten Oh, Kiki :3 ❤
So glad Laz found such a loving family and able to live out his life free of want and abuse. Thanks for the vids....from a fellow cat lover.
animals have real emotions...and many cats are particularly intense. some humans just don't understand this. that is so sad....
totally agree,
I know right?
üüühüüüüü im so sad lets dislike the video because they had to leave the cat for a day.
Cats are so misunderstood :(

Ashanti Nashi Oh, that proves it then.
Drimz. You mean god the the imaginary sky daddy friend ?
Max Headroom Nope.
oh my gosh this cat love his people!!! especially his Dad!! Just very sweet!!
Some people think cats have no feelings. You are wrong.
What do you mean only like 0.001% of people think that xd
If anyone says that cats don't love their humans show them this video. Clearly Lazzy is attached to his family.

Jessica Pena so true..
One cat doesn't represent all cats so there are many different cats and some like their owners others not
Awwh. Lazarus was so unhappy under that couch. Now he's happy. Daddy is home. He loves you so much!! He's not going to let you out of his sight. :)
Wow the bond between you and your cat is so beautiful!!
and some idiots say that cats dont love their owners....yeah right
Andre Carvalho IKR! Some people just dont understand
Purple Kitty i guess...or maybe those Stone cold hearts have no room for something so pure as these Little angels
Yeah, they just show it differently. You wanna feel loved, you gotta learn to speak cat.
Maybe they lives not like this idiots
the hi say wha?

animals are abosolutely amazing company.i had my chihuahua for 13 years he was really best companion ever.they never leave u only when they pass away.
That cat is beautiful
He has such an adorable meow!
And they say cats aren't loyal, look at him meowing the second he walked into the door, greeting his owner =]
+Nickle For Your Thoughts Dogs have owners. Cats have STAFF.

He looks so content now that he's back with his family. unconditional love right there.
REAL men love cats :-)
Absolutely! You can't go too wrong with a cat man.
most men hate cats
He probably would have been happier staying home in his territory and having a house sitter.
My thought exactly!
Absolutely. My thoughts exactly.

Lazarus! What a great name and a beautiful cat who really loves his daddy!
he is a handsome little man! Love his little meow
is this the same lazarus that was found almost dead in snow as a kitten?
joan rivers the very same.
joan rivers
Yeah, Joan, he's the same one they found outside
joan rivers lol
.
You can hear he's very unhappy. The same sound I heard from a cat in a carrier bag in the train. His (or her) owner went to the toilet and left the poor animal for all of 5 minutes...
AWW OMG! Poor kitty 😿
wkruit I hope you called law enforcement to bust the unresponsive cat owner on the train! Severe cat abuse!
NickandM Dude, he left the cat for five minuets to use the bathroom.
I go to the bathroom(when I’m home alone) and he meows at the door, sticks his paw under the door, and slams himself against the door
Such a beautiful cat!!!! You can tell he adores his dad! Thank god for your family! Thank you for spreading the love!
Beautiful to watch how much you love your cat^^
Laying on your leg says it all without speaking one word.
He is a beautiful cat! I'm grateful he has a loving home! He's so happy to see his family! Daddy, you did CPR on me for an hour, trying to warm me up, you saved me! That's why I love you so much!!
this is the frozen kitty!!! 😱 grew up so beautifully
Always amazes me that those who have never been lucky enough to be owned by a cat don't realise that they do miss their hoomans 😉🐾. Just shows how much he loves you guys 👍🏼😻
this cat has extreme abandonment issues. often these cats with this type of behavior suffers from PTSD
Well the poor baby was nearly frozen to death as a kitten. So I imagine must be part of that
Detra Jones Lazarus (the cat) doesn't have abandonment issues, he was homesick & scared due to being in a strange environment & with strangers.
The cat needs Dr. Phil
I agree with Detra Jones. He has become too dependent on his owner family.
Detra Jones isn't this the kitten that they found frozen in the snow?
just goes to show how much love animals have for the human race. They have feelings too
Beautiful kitty and thanks for not abandoning him. I love cats and have had them for over 20 years, Love this video and thanks for posting it.
You have a special little baby there. He loves you.
These videos are a How-To make your cat feel very loved and happy. 😊 I cannot wait for more!
We picked up two lost kittens a few months ago as winter was hitting. They were emaciated and desperate enough to follow me while I was taking a late night stroll. I took them in and they're now the most affectionate cats I've ever known.
The cat really loves his dad. Beautiful friendship between both.
There should be no doubt that Lazarus loves his family.
all i can say is thank God for people like You. He is much better off with people than with his former owner. you can tell he is loved, what a cutie cat.
that is one beautiful cat, I love that creamy color and the faded orange parts
You are a wonderful fur parent! Also a wonderful parent to your kids. Thank you for being a model.of compassion to them by being kind to helpless animals. God bless you!
He loves his daddy, great video. Poor baby...
WOW Lazzy stopped meowing as soon as daddy was home! Can tell who his favorite is ;)
he clearly a daddy's boy huh? so cute n missing u guys a lot! :)
Laz is so lucky you found him and did the right thing to bring him back. You are both lucky to have each other. Laz is a. Beautiful kitten.
Awwwwww!♡
Lazzie you're SUCH a nice kitty! 👍
Last month I was in the hospital for a week and my kitty Nellie stayed at my grandma's house.
I never been greeted in a better way before!
Grandma said she hadn't even meowed when I was gone 😢
So she talked soooo much when I came to get her! She had so much to talk about. (To be honest we're still catching up actually)
Good job Lazzie and your amazing owner!!!👍💖🐱
Why no't let your cat visit you while you are in hospital, your grandma will bring to you :)
Water Loukiria Sadly I wasn't allowed to bring any kitties with me 😢 hehe
And I think the car ride would have been too long for her, as I stayed in a hospital in a different city.
Awwhahaa - he was happy you came back for him, but boy oh boy is he telling you off, now! Hahaaa! Funny cats!
when his tail til is curled he is greeting you!
5.35 thats the face of comfort and contentment right there
My neighbour rescued a kitten too and she shows the same behaviour. She only feels save and comfortable close to him.
Cats always remember their saviors.
He is so happy being home and being loved, see his eyes closing? That is a great sign of how relaxed and happy he is now that everything is back to normal.
Who cares if my dad only has one shoe on snuggles!!!!! 😹
the love between you and Lazarus is amazing 🤗
Next vacation, you might get a house sitter, someone who will either check on him and the house a few times a day or even stay overnight keeping an eye on the house and him while your away. Being in a different environment might have been too much for him...he might do better if he's home even if your not able to be there for a few days.
+heatherwanderer777 I like the way you think ;)
+Frozen Kitten I'm owned by a household zoo...my furry overlords let me know what's acceptable when it comes to vacation "abandonments" lol. Oh goodness, the looks if I'm gone for 10 hours, let alone over night!
Lol! Years ago we put our Himmie cat in a room and friend came and fed and loved him every day. SOOOO glad I put a plastic lining over the bed, because the shirt that I put on top of that (that smelled like me) was promptly pee'd on several times over! He told us exactly what he thought about us leaving him there!
A big thank you and all my respect for being such wonderful people to adopt Ben-Ben. All he needed was love😺
so eager to see the baby pet that he didn't even put off the other shoe!!! That how much he loves him!
Laz was so friendly and sweet even though he missed his daddy and was in an unfamiliar place. Such a well-behaved cat! He must be so loved! Thank you for loving him and caring for him so well!
cats are territorial and when removed from their territory they get frightened and upset. poor Laz...broke my heart too.
+Janina S. Yes, having a cat sitter stop by and check on them in their home is best.
this video nearly brought me to tears.
Love you, Lazarus
safe to say, that is Dad's best friend!
Definitely a mutual admiration going on here! I love how this grown man gushes all over this little furkid, calling him Lazzie Spazzy is just too cute!!
Real men love cats. Lazzy is a gorgeous boy.
Rest in peace Laz. You will be missed.
I got the whole Laz loves Daddy part....what bothers me is why Dad only has one shoe???????
+enuffsanuff LOLOL, he broke his leg and had surgery a couple months ago. But I've been taking good care of him :)
He stepped in Poo Poo! lol
this make me cry how they love their cat.
+Laurie Bryson how much do you charge for being the Cat Police?
+Rachel Brown Why so defensive? I happen to not only have cats but I am also a pet/house sitter and keeping pets in their familiar surroundings is always preferable to kenneling them or boarding them out. Being removed from their homes causes a lot of stress that is not necessary by having someone come to them in the comfort of their own surroundings.
+FlorenceB12 Was it someone your kitty was used to, cause I watched my nieces cats 19 days and they were always happy to see me!
This is the most happy cat I ever seen!
Yep I also did the same, I'll just ask for my neighbour to feed my cat
Daddy is the best!!! :)
I love the crossed eyes! sooo cute! and the name!
What a daddy's boy! I love it!
I love seeing Lazzy loving and all happy his loved owner came home😘
For some cats it is traumatizing when their owners go on vacation. I used to have a cat like that but she would stay upset for a few days.
LOVES THE DADDY!!!!! Lazarus is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! What a great looking cat!!
