The baby can lick her or his breasts like a baby did to my male cat before. Milk is already given by human but baby needs a lot of things not just milk. He or she can lick her belly in order to get baby pee

Come on, he made a cat nest for them. Fed the kitten and helped it relieve itself daily. Obviously he was worried the big cat would attack at first. It may have looked rough, but the kitty was totally fine. Spoiled at that.

The adult cat/female's maternal instincts have kicked in. The kitten wasn't "covered in her saliva", she was CLEANING him!
The fact that she wasn't the least bit hesitant/stand-offish, but was trying to move in quickly and then "take him to a place that felt safe/comforting" should tell you something.
A couple years ago I rescued an abandoned kitten who was 10 days old. He looked EXACTLY like this kitten except he didn't have a tail and his ears were white. I kept him over the weekend and fed him and everything else, and fortunately found a nursing mother who ended up accepting him so he got a new family. Even though I only had him for 3 days, I still miss that little guy. He went over 24 hours without eating and still made it. He would sleep on my chest most of the time and you always knew when he was going to fall asleep because he would start licking his paws. He was so cute. His little clickety purr was the most adorable thing ever.
Daxi is a natural mother and that little one needs her warmth and comfort, as long as the kitten can come out for milk feedings.

so sweet, Daxi IS a mama cat - too bad she can't nurse the baby, but she can provide the love and comfort for her new baby - you don't need to buy nesting materials, a cardboard bos and a nice fluffy towel or soft old blanket will work - so much fun watching the baby grow
If this is an Asian couple raising this kitten, then its not surprising they are fussing with bedding and stuff. Its what they like to do.

I agree that the white adult cat was handled too roughly. He should've put her into another room and closed the door. But the kitten had to be medically examined and not just given to the adult cat.

@@feiryfella Girl- female cat would not normally produce milk unless there was a hormonal imbalance. While there are occasional cases of false or pseudopregnancy in cats when they lactate, this occurs when the female cat goes into a heat cycle and ovulates but does not become pregnant unless that is but still cannot produce milk but of course that she can protect the kitten but cannot give him milk that it.

Cats will never hurt a kitten al contrary it will care for it and clean it. I have 10 cats, and each kitten that I rescue my older cats would lick it, and now they still clean each other.
Some cats can hurt kittens, especially male cats. But this cat seemed very caring and wanted to take care of the kitten.
Yea my grown cat disliked our new kitten at first. Hissing and slapping him. We had to keep them away from each other til the grown cat finally started to like the kitten. Then they became best friends

Looks like my "resident" female cat when I brought home 3 (3 wk) old kittens. She would not leave them alone, tried to take them away and lick them to death, slept on top of their playpen at night to be near them and if they cried she would jump up and try to find them and take care of them. At first, she was a bit rough but over time she became like their big sister or mother!

Had an abandoned siamese kitten that grew up to be a sweet guy. Found a couple of dumped kitten. The rest of the cats including females were hostile to them. But not ming maow. Sweet thing mothered them making sure none of the other cats hurt them. Uncle minggy as he became continued with other kittens later on. Some cat ❤.
