Put shallow pans, bowls or large plastic lids throughout the garden fill with beer. Slugs love the beer and they drown in it. ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻

best slug zonker I ever found was household ammonia mixed with water in a 1:5 ratio put it in a hand sprayer (even a squirt gun works!) and squirt every slug you see with the mixture. it's nitrogen (NH3) so does not damage plants at all...but it will terminate every slug it touches!!

Bok choy, yum 😋! You're probably not a drinker, but if you know someone who drinks beer, have them save their leftovers. Sounds weird, but we did this in our garden and it works. If you place stale beer in a jar lid near plants that are susceptible to slugs and snails. I don't know if they drown or get alcohol poisoning, but but they do die and then I would dump the remains into the compost pile. If you can't find any stale beer, try a brewing company that may want to rid of any byproducts that could potentially do the same trick. Glad to see your blueberries are doing well, I won't rant about the Cornish cross in this comment and may God bless you all in your endeavors 😊.

For slugs and snails I use Sluggo, it also comes in Sluggo Plus, but I have found Sluggo works just fine, no need to buy the more expensive. Sluggo is organic and animal safe. You sprinkle it around around your plants, and reapply every week, to every two weeks depending how bad the slugs and snails are. It may seem expensive but realize that after 3 to 4 applications first thing in Spring, I have found that the slugs and snails do not come back - so really if you figure that, its not really that expensive. The sluggo may take a week to show the effects, but stick with it, once the slugs are gone, they pretty much stay gone till the next season. 👍👍👍

You can plant rosemary by the plants that get slugs. There are other things too, like anise, but a Google search will show you what you can do.

I’ve never heard rosemary repelling slugs before but I love rosemary so I’ll try it.

Diatomaceous earth around your garden with the 1/5 mixture sounds like a solid plan.

Sorry you lost a chick. I covered my few little plants for the past two nights, just to make sure. We had a little dab of frost one morning...

Hi Sang and all the family 😁👋
It was a real family affair today with lots of planting and unplanting via Hannah. I have to confess when you said if they survive Hannah I thought you meant her eating them 😂🤦🤦
Sadly animals pass away sometimes and as you said that's just homestead life, it's sad but the rest goes on.
Enjoyed the video and the piglets and chicks 🥰

Yeah Hannah is just copying me but can’t tell the difference from weeds from plants we planted 😂. But she’ll catch on soon……. I hope 😂

Hi, I really like your channel. This about your pigs itching. Please considered putting mineral oil or baby oil on their backs and shoulders. It really works. I used to put it on my cattle backs and shoulders too, for the same reason. It make them relax and all shiny. Oh you can oil your chicken combs and legs it will kill the mite problems too. Good luck Robin

Hey Sang, How many eggs do you get each day?
The baby piggies are getting so big..
We are having problems with the weather too, but we are suffering with storms one after another,, I'm hoping my produce doesn't rot.🙏
You can never have too many flowers about, specially with your bee's...
    Take care...🐮🐮🐮

It’s been a struggle getting consistent eggs. I put Eli in charge of the chickens and he forgets to give them feed sometimes. So I’ll get 20 one day and 6 the next day. 😞🤷🏻‍♂️

I noticed your oval metal raised bed....what brand is that? Birdies? Vega?
I'm considering getting some. Any thoughts about the quality of what you have?

    • @GrowingLittleCountryhomestead
      @GrowingLittleCountryhomestead  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I don’t remember the brand but I’m really impressed with it. I enjoy working around it and it’s a back saver. It seems flimsy but it’s pretty ridged after you hook the bracing across it. I would recommend it. If I remember the brand I’ll reply again
