Agreed. Was nice to have a nice balance. Now how many companies even the buttons are electronic screens. With overly complicated menus its just absolutely awful. I mean hell i feel they shouldn't even have moved to digital gauges.

The RS was born on the track. I feel like that's why it's so bouncy on the road. I threw some 18" wheels on mine and it completely changed the ride. The 17s and 2018s had revised dampening to better this. Mine is a 2016 and I absolutely love it!

I also bought my RS brand new in 2016 and daily drive it. Just about to hit 100k kms. I installed Ohlins coilovers and Whiteline control arms along with poly bushings. Also bumped down to 18" wheels. Removed the bounciness and it performs excellent on track. To me it transformed the car and honestly I have a hard time finding or justifying a replacement with the same amount of engagement.

i do like the Focus RS. That and the Ford ST were always nice to see on the road. As a 2011 VW MK6 GTI owner, I do appreciate a hot hatch. I've had mine since new in 2011 and it's now 2024 and she's showing some age, but I'm sometimes impressed with how modern it can look at times. I swapped out the head unit for a nice double din headunit with wireless carplay. Really brings it into the 2020s.

I'm also surprised at how loud it is with just a catback. I have a high flow downpipe and a borla type s catback. with a tune it sounds similar, but I've changed the tune to remove the pops and bangs as it got a little old for a daily driver.

It is *statistically* a reasonably priced car considering it costs as much as a nicely loaded out Civic and Accord lol, yeah I know I’m taking the Accord but impressive how affordable they made these cars considering the market turning from 12 thousand dollar Fiesta STs which I loved mine, now to where I can’t even get a SRT* Durango for less than 38 and that’s a 2018 Dodge that can be stolen as easy as a Kia lmao

I had a red 2014 Ford Focus with a 2.0L engine that delivered an impressive 43 mpg. At the time, the only turbo option was the ST, but I opted for the automatic transmission to make my daily commute through DMV traffic more manageable. It was quick, fun to drive, and my monthly payments were incredibly affordable. I loved having SiriusXM radio for all the comedy shows while navigating some of the worst roads around. Honestly, the Focus had the best handling I've experienced, especially on twisty roads, even compared to all the modern SUVs I've driven since. Now, I can't find an American car that compares, so I'm considering a new Mustang to see how it stacks up. Long live the Focus

Only change from stock is I put Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+ all-season tires. This change alone took the edge of the bumps. The only mod for the dampers is buying aftermarket, or buy Ford’s revised dampers they put on the late-2017 and 2018 cars. I have seen them in stock even recently.

Ford and GM really dropped the ball with their compact and hatchback cars, they left that spot for the Japanese and Koreans

      @@MarkPharaoh it's my opinion.
American brands shouldn't let their compacts cars die in US. They should invest money the same way Asians companies did and improve their compacts line.

Yea I don’t get it! Subaru did same thing with STi. It’s a shame because they were the 2 best options with awd.
Very disappointing, I would’ve discontinued the 4cyl mustang before the RS. They share same engine, mustang already come in v6,v8, v8 s.c

If you run a plug to the USB port in the arm rest and plug your phone in, it will connect apple car play, at least with an iphone. I have a big turbo 2018 focus st and leave my phone plugged in while driving since it doesn't have wireless carplay.

Curious.. what is the part number on that Borla exhaust? I actually really like the sound of it even though it is indeed a bit obnoxious and under most circumstances other than a Sunday drive is probably a bit over kill, there's also a substantial amount more pops produced compared to the stock exhaust (at least in comparison to mine which is just under the 40,000 mile mark). Wouldn't mind putting it on my 2017 at some point.

Borla Attak exhaust. You don’t need a tune to get those pops, just swap out the stock exhaust.
